Booked in at short notice and the staff were extremely friendly and helpful. The first room was very small but clean and comfortable. They then moved us to another room on the 5th floor that had a great view of the Acropolis with a big balcony. The staff also made a reservation at a restaurant for us, nothing was to... More

Staff very friendly. We arrived late from santorini but were given an exclusive room up on the roof. Huge roof top terrace with views of the Acropolis and city all to ourselves! The Hotel is older kinda funky but bathroom updated. I would pass on breakfast there. So many other great places outside to enjoy. Great location. Try to get... More

I arrived in Athens at 3 a.m. and when I got to the hotel the receptionist was bubbly and charming despite the late hour. There's no tub and the bathroom is small but the AC worked like a dream. The next morning I missed breakfast but the lady in the kitchen still let me have coffee and even offered food.... More

The hotel is in vicinity of the acropolis about 15 minutes away. Although the breakfast does not have a large assortment of food it is plentiful. The receptionists are very helpful and guided us to every place of interest and restaurants. All in all I recommend it for people with a budget or a group of friends!

Omiros had a really central location and many sites were within walking distance. It's close to the acropolis, the lively district of plaka, syntagma square, temple of Zeus etc. The room itself was very good with a wide balcony and a separate dressing room. The rent was reasonable too. The only downside was that no good views from the hotel... More

We have stayed at the Omiros Hotel twice, once in 2009 and then again in 2015. We immediately fell in love with the hotel the first time when we walked out onto our balcony and looked up to see the Parthenon. The view can't get any better than that. That's not to say that you will have such a view... More

We loved the Greek feel of this hotel! It was centrally located giving us the opportunity to adventure through the area! The rooms were perfect for our 2 day stay and breakfast was great! Thanks for a great stay! I would highly recommend!

Small quaint hotel good for 1 night post-cruise stay. Close proximity to nice cafes and restaurants and the popular Hermes Street with its great shopping, people watching and local vendors. Great view of the Acropolis on the roof top since we didn't have time to visit it. Didn't like the musty smell (made me sneeze a few times but it... More

Good room, spacious lobby, good breakfast, friendly very helpful staff. Computers with internet in the lobby if you want to print your boarding pass or navigate the web. Best feature: location. Quiet street, minutes away from lively Plaka and transportation to airport and metro.

Staying in Plaka

Neighborhood Profile
Plaka
Due to its proximity to the Acropolis, Plaka remains the area where the majority of foreign visitors stay and play. Its attractive features include small squares, some notable museums and the beautiful Mitropolis cathedral, as well as a host of places to stay, eat and drink. Its pedestrian zones make it a pleasant place to escape from the city’s notorious traffic. Adrianou and Kidathineon Streets contain a number of souvenir shops, offering classier items than you will find in the Flea Market. The most rewarding section to explore is the upper reaches towards the Acropolis itself, where many old stone houses with tiled roofs have survived. Up here you can find leafier corners and the odd quaint taverna with unobstructed views of the ancient rock.
