The location and the view of this hotel are unbeatable. The rooms are comfortable, we had the Acropolis view double room (41) and it was quite large, clean and you cannot beat the view, it is an amazing feeling looking at the Acropolis while falling asleep, the beds are also super. The breakfast was not included but very well worth the... More

Great hotel just off Syntagma Square with easy walking distances to all the major historical sites. Very friendly staff and great views from the roof top. Rooms clean and tidy but vary markedly in size. If you are booking as a family there is a risk you will be on very different floors. Good value for money.

We returned from breakfast to find our beds crawling with ants. I reported this to the older gentleman at the desk, and his reply was, "Well, you are checking out, aren't you?" Absolutely unapologetic or concerned. I stated that we were not intending to check out for an hour, so he finally conceded and gave us a room for our... More

Dear Guest Please accept my apologies for any unpleasant experience you may have had during your stay at our Hotel. Good - Modern rooms and facilities, best shower in Greece, good service, stores luggage and good location in the Plaka. Bad - Ants in room, continually swapped us around in our rooms as we stayed for 4 nights we spent every night in a different room. This was just ridiculous. Loud banging at 4am and shouting, some rooms were too... More

We stayed in room 52, simply appointed, clean, with a big balcony, table, chairs and long chairs, 2 double beds, good shower. Location is very convenient, grocery store on the street behind the hotel, close to Syntagma Square, X95 bus stop to/from airport, markets, restaurants (very good restaurant and excellent service left of the entrance door), shopping, and a short... You can't fault the location of this hotel. Walking distance to all major tourist attractions in Athens and also lots of restaurants and shops close by. Staff were friendly and our room had a lovely view of the acropolis. Rooms were very simple but adequate for our one night stay. Shower was amazing! Nice and close to airport bus which... More

Great family run hotel! Fantastic location, less than 5minute walk to syntagma and also monastiraki. Street of hotel (metropolis) runs parallel to the popular shopping street of ermou! Rooms are small but that is what is expected in Athens! Also great view of the acropolis on the rooftop

Great little hotel in the middle of Plaka within walking distance of "everything". Whith view over the Acropolis. As to be expected it's an old hotel so the rooms (and the lift) are small (6' tall people beware! lol) but it is fully refurbished as new inside the room with a fantastic all directional shower. The owner/manager and his dad... More

Staying in Syntagma

Neighborhood Profile
Syntagma
Perhaps the best place to get your bearings is Syntagma Square, crowned by the imposing Parliament building on its upper side and surrounded by other large structures, such as the exclusive Hotel Grande Bretagne. The grand avenues that lead towards Omonia are also full of massive Neoclassical edifices like the Numismatic Museum and those around smaller Platia Kolokotroni. Here you will find lots of travel agents, bookshops and fashion shops, especially on Ermou Street. Just south of Syntagma Square, you can take a breather in the lush National Gardens, which extend into the grounds of the Zappeio palace and beyond to the ancient Temple of Olympian Zeus.
