Easy to find. A short walk from Syntagma Square. The location is probably the best thing about this particular hotel. Plaka, Monastiraki, Flea Market and the Acropolis are all within easy walking distance. Makes it a lot easier to head to the Port as well since the Metro station is so close. Plenty of cafes and restaurants nearby. The shopping... More

This is an excellent hotel with a great location. The lobby and the room is a little small but has a nice view. You can walk and find a lot of shops and restaurants, the area at night is amazing, full of life. I recommend you buy a bottle of wine and go at night at the roof top and... More

Hotel's location is really grate. We went on foot to all historical locations of Athens. The room (12m2 ones) was refurnished, clean and comfortable. It had a little balkony as well. Just the shower and the toilet were quiete small.Last but not least, the hotel staff were very friendly as well.

Excellent location and is located a few blocks from the train station. The Acropolis is a few blocks away. Staff was pleasant and the room was nice. Breakfast was a short stroll down the block and there were several establishments to choose from. The room was small and comfortable. The elevator has room for 2 people and 2 pieces of... More

Hotel located just in the heart of the attraction area of Athens, we didn't use any transportation for 3 days and walked to all sites. Also they were really helpful with the suggestions and reccommendations, we had great dinner thanks to their suggestion. I definetely reccommend it who want to stay in a great location.

A quick walk from the train station and we made it to the Hotel Metropolis and it was perfect for us! The rooms might not be the fanciest I have ever stayed in, but for under 50 bucks who can complain! The room was clean and comfortable with a wonderful view out across Athens. Not to mention the staff! They... More

Stayed in the Hotel Metropolis for 3 nights mid December. This is a 2 star accommodation in the middle of Athens. I must admit when my husband booked a hotel with only 2 starts I was more than a little nervous. The rooms were incredibly clean and well decorated and as part of the package we even received slippers (it's... More

Very well located, walking distance to all the main sights of Athens. The staff was very helpful and kind too. Excelent value for money. Airport is easily reachable by public transport. Downsides: Really really small rooms and elevator. The shower curtain actually ended right on top of the toilet, making it a little uncomfortable to take showers.

We arrived in Athens at Syntagma station using the Metro from the airport. We walked the couple of blocks wheeling our luggage down the street to the hotel. When we arrived at the hotel we were greeted by two men at the front desk, one had a bit of a sarcastic attitude while the other was very helpful. We were... More

Staying in Syntagma

Neighborhood Profile
Syntagma
Perhaps the best place to get your bearings is Syntagma Square, crowned by the imposing Parliament building on its upper side and surrounded by other large structures, such as the exclusive Hotel Grande Bretagne. The grand avenues that lead towards Omonia are also full of massive Neoclassical edifices like the Numismatic Museum and those around smaller Platia Kolokotroni. Here you will find lots of travel agents, bookshops and fashion shops, especially on Ermou Street. Just south of Syntagma Square, you can take a breather in the lush National Gardens, which extend into the grounds of the Zappeio palace and beyond to the ancient Temple of Olympian Zeus.
