Great little hotel in the middle of Plaka within walking distance of "everything". Whith view over the Acropolis. As to be expected it's an old hotel so the rooms (and the lift) are small (6' tall people beware! lol) but it is fully refurbished as new inside the room with a fantastic all directional shower. The owner/manager and his dad... More

We enjoyed our stay at the Hotel Metropolis. The hotel location was great, close walking distance to all attractions. Lots of great restaurants close by as well. The room we got was very small, but knew that going into it. We were also told by booking.com that it came with a balcony, but did not receive one when we arrived.... More

This is a sweet little hotel walking distance to acropolis, old plaka, restaurants, and shopping if you're into that. The rooms, although smallish, are very clean and bright. On a fairly quiet street so not alot of road noise. The breakfast is outdoors on the top of the building with great views. The breakfast is 8 euros and is kind... More

Stayed overnight prior to flying home and wanted a room with Acropolis view! Perfect! ! Very pleasant and helpful staff. Location is just a short walk to Plaka and Monastiraki. Room clean and beds very comfortable! Balcony overlooking Acropolis and we're very pleased!! Rooftop area as well with breakfast served in am. Happy with our choice!

This hotel had some great reviews, and it was ok, but from the reviews and the photos, it was not what I was expecting, so I will try and describe it truthfully. The Hotel is small with no proper reception area, I was expecting a larger hotel for some reason. When we arrived, there was a mistake with the booking,... More

We stayed for two nights in two rooms. Number 43 had a double bed Which was comfy. Bathroom was small but the room size was good. Our room number 44 has twin beds and were so soft. I was thrilled to bits. At last! Bathroom was small but the shower was great. Although the floor got wet a bit. Very... More

The hotel is clean, comfortable and friendly staff. The rooms are small but they are in most cities and for the price €320 for 4 nights per couple it was good value. The other hotels in the area were much more expensive. It's very close to all the main tourist attractions and loads of bars and restaurants. The bar next... More

Very nice Hotel near restaurants, Cafes and main shopping area. We family of 4 were on the top floor (5) with fantastic view of the Acropolis and featured an outdoor balcony area. The rooms were very bright and the beds and furnishings were comfortable. The room was a bit on the small side for a family of 4 but quite... More

Staying in Syntagma

Neighborhood Profile
Syntagma
Perhaps the best place to get your bearings is Syntagma Square, crowned by the imposing Parliament building on its upper side and surrounded by other large structures, such as the exclusive Hotel Grande Bretagne. The grand avenues that lead towards Omonia are also full of massive Neoclassical edifices like the Numismatic Museum and those around smaller Platia Kolokotroni. Here you will find lots of travel agents, bookshops and fashion shops, especially on Ermou Street. Just south of Syntagma Square, you can take a breather in the lush National Gardens, which extend into the grounds of the Zappeio palace and beyond to the ancient Temple of Olympian Zeus.
