A very nice hotel in Athens, very central (Plaka area) with a beautiful roof garden with a magnificent view of Parthenon! Friendly staff, clean, well maintained. Close to Parthenon, the new Acropolis museum and Syntagma square. Would definitely recommended!!

Athos hotel is in the heart of Athens. Not big and this makes it friendlier to the tourists. The service was excellent, stayed there 2 nights before our cruise. Clean and with an excellent roof garden with AMAZING view!! Nikos, who runs the hotel, was great with excellent English. Rooms were nice and clean with very comfortable beds!! Recommended to... Excellent location a few minutes walk from airport bus terminus in centre of Athens with excellent view of The Acropolis from the roof garden. Wonderful friendly helpful staff and very well maintained and clean accommodation. No extra charge was levied for either air-con or safety deposit box, a 1st for us in Greece!

Depending on your demands and hopes, this hotel may disappoint you As EmilyV said, inter-room noise is a real problem - I had 2adults screaming at each other and another couple far too noisy in their activities on my night there. + generators, etc On the upside, It's so well located, great access to everything important in Athens, clean, simple... We spent one night in this cosy hotel in the Plaka area. The location is super convenient : near the most important historical sites ( Acropolis and the acopismuseum). The rooms a re spotless and quiet and the owners and their staff very personable and helpful We highly recommend this hotel

We love Athens and we've have been staying at the family run Athos hotel regularly for a number of years. The rooms seem to be competitively priced and are comfortable and clean. The situation is ideal for the Plaka and Greek Antiquity, and a very short walk from Syntagma square and airport bus stop. We like to choose a double... More

The location was awesome (we weren't interested in luxury) we just wanted to get around easily. We found the staff friendly and liked our room and found it functional even though it was tiny. However, the hotel is very noisy in the morning if you want to sleep in and there is a loud sound coming from the generators outside... More

The reviews were right rooms are really tiny, had to put the suitcase in the closet, rooms are so small no way 2 people can be in at the same time. so it ideal for people who just want a place to sleep and spend all day long outside. The location is excellent and the mattress was surprisingly good quality.... More

Staying in Plaka

Neighborhood Profile
Plaka
Due to its proximity to the Acropolis, Plaka remains the area where the majority of foreign visitors stay and play. Its attractive features include small squares, some notable museums and the beautiful Mitropolis cathedral, as well as a host of places to stay, eat and drink. Its pedestrian zones make it a pleasant place to escape from the city’s notorious traffic. Adrianou and Kidathineon Streets contain a number of souvenir shops, offering classier items than you will find in the Flea Market. The most rewarding section to explore is the upper reaches towards the Acropolis itself, where many old stone houses with tiled roofs have survived. Up here you can find leafier corners and the odd quaint taverna with unobstructed views of the ancient rock.
