Coming up to Athos Hotel, you might initially be very wary of its location. Patroou Street is very narrow and the surrounding buildings display evidence of a once unhappy period with all their graffiti slogans. However, we were very pleased with Athos Hotel. The rooms were very clean and they were certainly spacious enough. The bathroom was a comfortable size... more

We booked this hotel for the end of our vacation in Greece based on some postitive comments on trip advisor & the hotel's website......we did NOT GET WHAT WE EXPECTED!! We thought we would splurge for the 6th floor "superior" room with private balcony with acropolis view. What we found was a clean hotel from the entrance but the room... more

Reviews on this site encouraged me to book this hotel. In fact this is not a boutique hotel, just an average small city hotel for tourists. Location is great for the sights of Athens, safe too. What we disliked is the air con noise - quite loud so you cannot really sleep while it is working. more

After spending many hours on-line looking for just the right place for my budget and sensibilities, I ended up booking a room at the Athos Hotel. I do not like big modern or funky cheap places - what I wanted was a clean, under-stated but nicely & cleanly appointed place that was located near the heart of Athens. This is... more

For our 2+week Greece holiday, all accommodations were booked via the Internet based on information provided on hotel websites and recommendations on this site and Fodor’s (which did not feature this hotel). On 4/17/07, we confirmed our reservation for a Superior room at the Athos Hotel for a four night stay in late September and early October, 2007 with Nina... more

My husband and I, brother-in-law, and in-laws spent four nights at the Athos. Upon our arrival, I met Mary who is the evening hotel manager. My inlaws were given a large room on the 4th, my BIL had the "penthouse" small room on the 6th floor and we had a medium size room on the 2nd. The following morning we... more

The owner and her son, Nina and Nikos were incredible. We stayed at their hotel for about a week in January. The rooms were very clean and the location was in the Plaka area, where there are great restaurants and a lot going on. But the Athos Hotel is just off the busiest parts which made it also a quiet... more

The room on the top floor had a great view of the acropolis from the window. The roof garden was directly outside the window as well, so you could hear whenever people were out there (and needed to close the windows if someone was..so they couldn't see in). The bathroom was of good size & had a shower door so... more

The Athos is in a great, central location between Syndagma square and Monastiraki. Within walking distance to many sites. Hotel staff were very friendly...every staff member quickly matched our faces to our room number so we felt that they "knew" us. First we had a standard room on a lower floor, which was tiny but very clean. On the later... more

We booked the Athos hotel on the recommendation of a travel guide we were using for the Greek Isles. I checked the rates and location on the internet. (though I will admit I still didn't know where it was) After booking through Expedia, I emailed the hotel directly and got a prompt courteous response confirming my reservation. The hotel has... more
