Staff are very helpful and friendly. William in particular was very informative and humorous. Room small but was clean and comfortable for 3 of us. We were on the 3rd floor and there was some traffic noise in the mornings. Breakfast was excellent with a large choice and fresh orange juicer. Small but adequate gym and lovely views from rooftop... Although the room was not too large, it had a very comfortable superking bed. Bed linen was excellent quality and spotless. The down mattress topper and duvet made it feel like crawling into a cocoon, very comfortable. The room and bathroom were immaculate and as a retired Executive Housekeeper in 5* hotels, I was impressed with the cleanliness. It had... More

Love this hotel. Very good location and very friendly and helpful staff. The breakfast was rich, tasty, delicious, homemade. Close to all city attractions, Omonia metro station is only few steps. After we check-out we left our baggages at the reception, they were very helpful. Our room was very very clean and well-equipped, the bed was very comfortable. Super hotel,... More

We stayed in Polis for 3 nights and overall we received the quality for price; some pro's and con's below: Pro: * customer service * comfortable beds * great Greek breakfast * quality for money Con: * room designs should be updated * location although central, is surrounded by some sketchy - not so great, areas

My cousin and I arrived to this hotel and quickly realized she had left her iPad on the airplane. William was very helpful in assisting us in calling the airports/airlines, etc. He also helped us with dinner reservations, bus tours and pretty much anything else we needed for our stay in Athens. The hotel is in a great location and... More

Had a great 5 night stay and really impressed. Clean, friendly and breakfast was wonderful. Location is very central and train station just around the corner. Only thing lacking is TV channels if you like that sort of thing.

We were there so that we could get some rest before starting our 15 day trip. The hotel does not feel like a 4 star hotel by any means. The rooms are small and the bathroom could use new sanitary. The staff was helpful but they will not go out of their way to help you. We had to leave... More

Enjoyed a couple of one night stop overs at this hotel located close to Omonia Square central Athens. The neighbourhood is mixed with the nearby block burned out in a riot 2011, but the hotel itself was fine, friendly helpful staff and the roof terrace bar/restaurant provides fine views of the Acropolis....especially at night.

Staying in Omonia

Neighborhood Profile
Omonia
Omonia Square is as plain in appearance as Syntagma is grand. Surrounded largely by functional blocks from the 1950s and 60s and no longer boasting its underground stalls, the square is now mostly frequented by immigrants and bargain shoppers. The most rewarding area to explore is to the south. Set off down Athinas Street, with the Acropolis gradually coming into focus in the distance, and you will get a sense of old commercial Athens, especially at the picturesque meat, fish and vegetable markets some way beyond the City Hall. The blocks to the west of Athinas are home to many Chinese and South Asian traders, adding a multicultural atmosphere to what was until the late 1990s a very homogenous society.
