My husband & I stayed at this fantastic hotel for 3 days & 3 nights in a spacious suites. We sat at the balcony with wine & a beautiful view of the Acropolis. Vasilis, Hotel Manager, was hospitable, helpful & a fantastic resource to us, 1st time tourist in Athens. Full breakfast was wonderfully varied & tasty. We walked for... More

A clean, comfortable hotel located in the heart of Athens with a nearby metro station (Omonia). Staff were very friendly, bed superb. Go for a room with a balcony if you can. 8th floor is the best spot. The roof top bar has magnificent views across Athens, although sadly doesn't open until 7pm. The only downside is the drink prices,... More

This hotel is absolutely everything you could wish for and more. It's hidden away amongst a lot of other buildings and shopping outlets and you would never guess it was there. But once you go through the main entrance you are greeted by fabulous friendly staff who cannot do enough to make your stay as enjoyable as possible. The rooms... More

The hotel is in a good location for shopping and sight-seeing. The staff is friendly and helpful and the breakfast was decent. The rooms are nice and clean and the area seemed to be fairly safe. The rooftop restaurant has a lovely view of the Acropolis and decent food with fair prices. My only complaints are that the rooms smell... More

Great location in walking distance to Plahka and the main sites. Unfortunately the Hotel faces a main street and traffic is quite heavy. I had ear plugs with me and slept totally fine trough the night. Good value for money and clean room. Breakfast was great.

Pros: 1. Two-minute walk from Omonia Metro station, excellent location. All major Archaeological sites are within 2-3 km radius and are well connected by Metro. 2. One of their staff members Vassilis Xenoudakis was exceptionally helpful. He would come over and talk to us about our plans. 3. Excellent food at breakfast Cons: 1. We booked their roof top restaurant... More

The hotel is very well located, very close to the Archeological museum and about 1.0 km from the Acropolis and Plahka. The staff is very friendly and helpful with any kind of questions. Parking is a problem is you are driving. The hotel is next to a very busy thoroughfare that windows are very well sound proofed which makes the... More

Staying in Omonia

Neighborhood Profile
Omonia
Omonia Square is as plain in appearance as Syntagma is grand. Surrounded largely by functional blocks from the 1950s and 60s and no longer boasting its underground stalls, the square is now mostly frequented by immigrants and bargain shoppers. The most rewarding area to explore is to the south. Set off down Athinas Street, with the Acropolis gradually coming into focus in the distance, and you will get a sense of old commercial Athens, especially at the picturesque meat, fish and vegetable markets some way beyond the City Hall. The blocks to the west of Athinas are home to many Chinese and South Asian traders, adding a multicultural atmosphere to what was until the late 1990s a very homogenous society.
