The hotel is very central, nearby Syntagma square with easy metro connection. Friendly staff and nice room size. The negative point was the lack of options for food at the fantastic terrace. Only sandwich and pizza. Also in my room the smell as a mix of cigarette and bad perfume.

As a modest hotel in the heart of Athens, this hotel was good enough for the purpose. The conference room was adequate for the sharing of materials and ideas, although it would probably be a squeeze for more than about 16 people. The staff are very accommodating and friendly on the whole, and we had no problems communicating as all... More

Thank you for your review on Central Athens Hotel. We have a variety of conference rooms that may accommodate from 5 to 60 people fully supported by audiovisual systems. We have tried to cater most tastes during breakfast offering a great variety of hot and cold delicacies mostly focusing on mediterranean diet without excluding international preferences. It is our guests’... More

And from the outside this hotel may look shady and at first I was skeptical. Once inside the actual appearance is very classy, elegant and clean. The breakfast room was amazing and breakfast was equally delicious. If you take the elevator all the way to the rooftop you will find your Pool, and a rooftop bar that overlooks the Parthenon... We stayed for 3 nights in a double bedroom. The hotel is a few minutes walk from Syntagma square station on a narrow road that has little traffic. Its location is great for walking just a few minutes to central activities and entertainment. The staff were friendly and welcoming. There was a bit of delay at check in as we... More

The hotel, the whole team (reception, cleaning, kitchen), the rooms, the roof terrace, the bar : all is OK, professional and friendly in the mean time. We always go there. And last but not least : very well situated in the center of Athens.

Good location. We arrived in Athens very late. From the bus stop to the hotel it took around 7 minutes by walk. The receptionist welcomed us and advised on visiting rooftop bar. Once we reached it, we were just amazed. From the opened area of the cafe you see Acropolis: all illuminated, great, majestic. We got a fantastic meze platter... More

Last August we stayed at the Central in Athens. It's centrally located to the flea markets and the best tavernes in Plaka and Monastiraki. Staff were wonderful. Breakfast was lovely, lots to choose from. The outdoor verandah with a breathtaking view of the Acropolis was just amazing. Could sit there all night admiring the Parthenon.

Hotel is situated on the noisy market street with a specific smell, but our room was looking into the opposite direction, it was quite for us. The rooms are a little small but clean. I didn't like that the lighting in the room was pretty poor. Location is really great, walking distance to main sight seeings. An amazing view from... More

Staying in Plaka

Neighborhood Profile
Plaka
Due to its proximity to the Acropolis, Plaka remains the area where the majority of foreign visitors stay and play. Its attractive features include small squares, some notable museums and the beautiful Mitropolis cathedral, as well as a host of places to stay, eat and drink. Its pedestrian zones make it a pleasant place to escape from the city’s notorious traffic. Adrianou and Kidathineon Streets contain a number of souvenir shops, offering classier items than you will find in the Flea Market. The most rewarding section to explore is the upper reaches towards the Acropolis itself, where many old stone houses with tiled roofs have survived. Up here you can find leafier corners and the odd quaint taverna with unobstructed views of the ancient rock.
