We stayed here in April for 4 nights. This hotel is in a fantastic location, everything is in easy walking distance the Acroplis, Plaka, Ermou Street for shopping. The staff were friendly and helpful. The rooms are clean and adequate size. The bar on the roof is great, fantastic views of Acropolis! I would definitely stay here again.

Spent 2 nights at this hotel, we had one of the more expensive luxury rooms with a balcony. The room was very comfortable and clean, except the shower had a bit of black mould around the floor which should really be sorted. No kettle in room, so to get a cup of tea last thing at night meant paying 2... More

Small room and bathroom but efficient. Rooms with a balcony gives you more space. Nice breakfast variety. A snack bar with a wonderful view especially at sunset. The rooms are quiet and not much street noise. The staff was friendly and helpful, especially helping us navigate the street map. We were able to walk to all the major sites including... More

We stayed here 3 nights to start our trip around Greece. The lobby is clean and modern and the staff were polite. Americans need to leave their big suitcases at home (we travel with carry on) because your big luggage will not fit in the elevator for 2-3 people. Rooms were functional but a little cramped (typical for European rooms).... More

We stayed here for 4 days in April 2015. We thought the location was great. We could walk to every place we wanted to visit. We had an inner room near the back on the 5th floor and had no problems with noise. The hotel was clean. The breakfast buffet was great. The rooftop cafe and bar are nice, with... More

We had two adjacent rooms for my family's four nights in Athens and they were perfect. Great, quiet location, spotless rooms, linens and halls and a reasonable price. The rooms, two twins each, were small, as in really small, but we were out and about or relaxing in the rooftop cafe with a stunning view of the Acropolis. We highly... More

The roof garden offers stunning views of the Acropolis either day or night. Wonderful coffee and milkshake, very polite and helpful staff. Prices good, especially with this view. The only remark : too small and narrow elevator that fits only two people.

The Central is truly central - walking distance to so many things, we found the location to be very convenient. The rooms are well appointed. The wireless worked well. The breakfast buffet is very good. A nice variety with some change from day to day. You must go to the bar on the top in the evening for a view... More

This hotel had a fabulous location and a rooftop bar with a view of the Acropolis that could not be beaten (much better than the view from the 5-star Electra Palace nearby). The breakfast was good not great, water pressure was great. Aside from the rather capricious wi-fi, the only problem was the size of my room. I was initially... More

Staying in Plaka

Neighborhood Profile
Plaka
Due to its proximity to the Acropolis, Plaka remains the area where the majority of foreign visitors stay and play. Its attractive features include small squares, some notable museums and the beautiful Mitropolis cathedral, as well as a host of places to stay, eat and drink. Its pedestrian zones make it a pleasant place to escape from the city’s notorious traffic. Adrianou and Kidathineon Streets contain a number of souvenir shops, offering classier items than you will find in the Flea Market. The most rewarding section to explore is the upper reaches towards the Acropolis itself, where many old stone houses with tiled roofs have survived. Up here you can find leafier corners and the odd quaint taverna with unobstructed views of the ancient rock.
