After I made the booking I saw a review of someone who stayed in this hotel and got bed bugs, but I thought to myself that it was a long time a go and surely they took care of the problem or else they'd be losing money. Unfortunately I was wrong! After 2 night in that hotel I was covered... More

We arrived on the wrong night, turns out my friend booked for the wrong month, but they handled it super well and let us stay anyways in another room for the first night, but we got the suite for the 2nd. For the price, it was ok, but a little expensive considering it's quite old. The top suite was great... More

Excellant location; walking distance to all sites; markets and shops; bars and restaurants. Good view from room and 2 balconies (though too narrow for sitting on). Good view from breakfast room on top floor. Very helpful and friendly staff. Nice quiet hotel. Nice breakfast; freshly made orange juice. Clean, lots of character; room had all needed for a weeks break.... More

Plus points:- Well placed for central Athens / Comfy bed / great views of the Acropolis from restaurant. Negative points:- The hotel is very, very 'tired', needs a full overhaul. Rotten window/door shutters Rotten balcony doors Damaged poor quality furniture De-luxe double room (description by hotel) nowhere near 'de-luxe' Small bedroom with not much room to manoeuvre Bathroom in a... Avoid this hotel by all means. We stayed there during our athens trip november 2014 and had to vacate the hotel early next day due to the bed bug issue. We lost a whole night's sleep. The management is aware of this issue but hasn't fixed this issue. We laundered our whole luggage just to be in the safer side.

Magna Grecia I spent 4 nights here in late November. My initial reaction when I checked was "crap". However, it was late, I had been traveling for 24 hours, and I was probably in a crappy mood. By the time I left the place had grown on me and I would definitely stay there again. It may not be for... More

This lovely boutique hotel was one of the high lights of Athens! Nestled in the heart of central Athens where we were available to all the great interests. The Acropolis, good food and dinning. Shopping for souvenirs and beautiful local goods were plentiful. The bed was very dreamy in the collectic décor. The staff were all very charming and helpful.... More

Very comfortable beds, great showers, fabulous view and location. Opposite to the church so lots of bell ringing at times. Situated halfway between Syntagma and Monastiraki plakas, , it's less than 1km to each.

Amazing stunning view from the room directly to Acropolis. Super bed - definitely what you need after the long day trip of exploring of Athens sightseeings or Athens night life. And of course just perfect location!! The hotel is situated right in the heart of Athens, in walking distance from Acropolis, Thesio, Plaka, Monastiraki and other sightseeings, cafe, restaurants and... More

Staying in Plaka

Neighborhood Profile
Due to its proximity to the Acropolis, Plaka remains the area where the majority of foreign visitors stay and play. Its attractive features include small squares, some notable museums and the beautiful Mitropolis cathedral, as well as a host of places to stay, eat and drink. Its pedestrian zones make it a pleasant place to escape from the city’s notorious traffic. Adrianou and Kidathineon Streets contain a number of souvenir shops, offering classier items than you will find in the Flea Market. The most rewarding section to explore is the upper reaches towards the Acropolis itself, where many old stone houses with tiled roofs have survived. Up here you can find leafier corners and the odd quaint taverna with unobstructed views of the ancient rock.
