As soon as we arrived to the Art Hotel, we were convinced our taxi driver made a mistake, as the area was crime ridden and dilapidated. The front desk staff said outright that taxi cab drivers often try to redirect clients to other hotels in "better areas of town," although they asserted we were safe. The place was FILTHY! From... Nice hotel which is centrally located. Lovely staff who were very helpful with where to go and what to see and anything that you need. Room service was really good. Only things i would comment on is the elevator didn't work when you wanted to go down for some reason and the breakfast wasn't very nice. Other than that it... More

The photos on website are photo shopped to the max. The place is very old, the foyer and stairs look lovely but after that it is old and in poor state. The beds are two singles pushed together which move apart when you roll over. No carpet on the floors, air conditioner not working. They moved us from the first floor... More

Stayed our last night (31st July 2015) during our tour of the Pelloponese. The hotel is not too far from Omonia Square and it cost around €4 to get a taxi to Plaka or Monastiraki. The 2 rooms we had were very clean and comfortable. We were very happy. We asked for an early breakfast for 6am and bless them... More

Arrived here at the start of our honeymoon for a 2 night stay. We booked judging on the pictures and reviews online. When we walked in we had a good first impression, however, that all changed when we got to our room! Walls were grubby to say the least, the room itself and the bathroom were tiny and over looked... Was staying in this hotel for 3 nights, the area we din't realise when we booked would be kind of out of the way, from the main "fun" areas. To walk to Monstraki it took us about 30 minutes. The rooms were quite cramped and the toilets could really do with some shower curtains or something...On the other hand, must say... More

Visiting Athens over the weekend of the recent referendum was always going to be an exciting event, and so it proved to be. My friend and I were keen to support the those campaigning against austerity (the 'Oxi' vote) and we attended the huge rally in Syntagma Square on the Friday evening. Politics aside, though, we needed a decent place... More

I stayed at this hotel with my Mother on 25 June for four nights. Nice hotel. Staff were extremely friendly and would go out of their way for you. Breakfast was tasty and filled us up, ready for the day ahead. Rooms were of a decent size. We did find the room to be very hot and found it slightly... More

We only stayed one night, thank goodness, as the rooms are very small and dark. We had a reasonable breakfast, but the whole location is a bit dodgey. I would not stay in this area again if I could. Close to nothing really

I started my trip at Art Hotel, Athens. While the hotel isn't bad, it isn't anything to write home about either. The place is tired and dated, in a run-down area of town and quite a trek from Athens' main attractions. The lady on reception was as helpful as she could be, showing us a map of the city and...
