We thought the hotel was outstanding. It is very modern decor, but very well done. We were very pleased with our room. We had a chocolate and fruit plate in our room on arrival. The breakfast buffet was incredible, especially if you like desserts/sweets treats. We thought the location was great. It was walking distance to all the major sights... More

I picked this hotel as an alternate from the one suggested by the European Destinations package. As it happened we wouldn't have picked a nicer place. The staff was incredibly polite and helpful, the breakfast sumptuous-especially nice when consumed on the terrace, the location perfect ( centre of Athens and yet an island there). Will stay there again when back in... More

wonderful staff that are truly service minded. Clean rooms and the breakfast buffet was the best we had in Athens with a nice terrace and lots of different types of egg. Not the best location, but still within walking distance from the major sites in the city.

We chose this hotel at the very last moment & we wouldn't have asked for any better service, got upgraded from superior to "Graffiti room" (some people might find it quirky but we simply liked it), amazing breakfast (variety was awesum). It was very close to Omonia square & Monastiraki. For travelling simply hop on to the Metro..its the most... More

We just finished our first visit to Athens. We are very pleased that we stayed at Pallas Athena. It has only been opened for about a year according to staff. The staff is very courteous and helpful. They recommended great restaurants. The breakfast buffet may be one of the best. The renovation turned out great. Very modern but comfortable. We... More

As a boutique hotel, the Pallas Athena features fascinating, somewhat edgy decor. Everywhere you look, there is something interesting to catch your eye. The lobby is a symphony of white, right down to a taxidemied Spitz dog under glass (not as freakish looking as it sounds.) The hotel features themed rooms and we were a little hesitant to find Tinkerbell... More

We found this hotel in one hotels.com and the pictures were quite, nice that's why we booked this one. The room was very average. It was not a 4 star hotel. Very basic I would say. It is near the ghetto a friend of ours said. But the service in their restaurant was good. In the room we did not... More

Athens is not a cheap place to book hotels but we were pleased to find this sweet hotel. For our honeymoon, we got upgraded to a suite and a complimentary bottle of champagne with fruits. We loved the eccentric decor of our room. Everything is clean, loved the shampoo, etc. Having breakfast is our highlight of our stay. Fresh squeezed... More

We booked this hotel very last moment on our trip and i am glad we did. The staff was very hospitable and friendly. It is in center of Athens close to Omonia sqaure , Monastriki and Syntagma square. Also we booked superior room but they upgraded us for free to Graffiti room which was beautiful. Overall we had a wonderful... More

Found this totally by chance on TA but so glad we did. The decoration is quirky throughout including the stuffed zebra in the restaurant. That said we loved the place and its central location. Breakfast was very classy and the waiting staff first class. We have paid an awful lot more for less. You won't be disappointed.

Staying in Omonia

Neighborhood Profile
Omonia
Omonia Square is as plain in appearance as Syntagma is grand. Surrounded largely by functional blocks from the 1950s and 60s and no longer boasting its underground stalls, the square is now mostly frequented by immigrants and bargain shoppers. The most rewarding area to explore is to the south. Set off down Athinas Street, with the Acropolis gradually coming into focus in the distance, and you will get a sense of old commercial Athens, especially at the picturesque meat, fish and vegetable markets some way beyond the City Hall. The blocks to the west of Athinas are home to many Chinese and South Asian traders, adding a multicultural atmosphere to what was until the late 1990s a very homogenous society.
