5 of 5 stars Reviewed yesterday NEW

When we arrived there were several people occupying reception, but a charming young lady came out from behind the desk to check us in. A good start. Our 1st floor mini suite was also charming, but the best was when we discovered how almost everything we wanted to do in Athens was so close. We spent 3 nights at the... More

The location is perfect as it is in the heart of plaka which has some great cafes, restaurants and shops. Also close to some of the sights. Staff are extremely helpful and polite. Very quaint and elegant rooms.

My wife and I stayed 3 nights in a standard double room. The room was large, clean, comfortable, and included a kitchenette. The hotel staff was very friendly and helpful. We found the Acropolis, the Acropolis Museum, and the Temple of Zeus were all a very short walk. The hotel is just a 15 minute walk from Syntagma Square. We... More

The hotel was very nice, the staff was helpful, hotel well located. I highly recommend it. Big room, with small kitchen, living room, balcony and nice bathroom. It is located walking distance to all attractions, restaurants and bars. They received us with a bottle of champaign in the room.

We stayed at Ava for total of 4 days, one day before leaving for Santorini and 3 days once we came back from Santorini... the hotel is firstly located superbly near to almost everything you might need as a tourist.. walking distance to Acropolis, Syntagma Square, Olympian Zeus ,Plaka and small shops.. We chose a Executive room for first day... More

This hotel was beautiful, close to everything (we never had to take public transportation), and the staff could not have been more helpful! They did everything from helping us unload our bags from the taxi upon arrival, to mailing our postcards for us, to giving us directions. I'd definitely stay here again!

This hotel is situated in the heart of the old town in between the top attractions. The rooms are neat and the suite we booked was a very good size. Unfortunately despite the pictures, there is no longer a rooftop bar so you will have to leave the hotel for a sunset view of the Acropolis. Our checkin was very... More

We stayed in a suite on the top floor with a large terrace, with a view of the Akropolis. The view is worth the money for the room. In addition, the room, with a living room, kitchenette, dining area and bed room is nicely furnished and super clean. Bathroom is immaculate. Friendly staff. We arrange a 1/2 walking tour to... Can't find anything to complain about, everything was perfect. Accommodation very nicely done, service impeccable. We had the buffet breakfast every day, wonderful. Perfect location to explore. We would come back again without any hesitation.

Very nice accommodations and at a very reasonable rate - I highly recommend this Hotel, easy access to the Acropolis and very close to dinning and shopping. The rooms are very well maintained and the staff were very helpful, we never ate at the restaurant so I have no personal opinion regarding the service and food

Staying in Plaka

Neighborhood Profile
Plaka
Due to its proximity to the Acropolis, Plaka remains the area where the majority of foreign visitors stay and play. Its attractive features include small squares, some notable museums and the beautiful Mitropolis cathedral, as well as a host of places to stay, eat and drink. Its pedestrian zones make it a pleasant place to escape from the city’s notorious traffic. Adrianou and Kidathineon Streets contain a number of souvenir shops, offering classier items than you will find in the Flea Market. The most rewarding section to explore is the upper reaches towards the Acropolis itself, where many old stone houses with tiled roofs have survived. Up here you can find leafier corners and the odd quaint taverna with unobstructed views of the ancient rock.
