Although this hotel is within walking distance from the Omonia metro station, which is only 2 stops from the Plaka area and Acropolis, the location is not highly desirable. The hotel is fairly clean, the staff are unfriendly and somewhat unhelpful. I certainly wouldn't recommend it for female travellers - in groups or alone. You wouldn't want to be walking... more

This hotel wasn't as bad as those on the north of Omonia Sq, where I spotted prostitutes at lunch-time. I was about to book Claridge hotel before going for this one, and that was a good move: it was at Claridge that I saw them and got looked at myself as if I were one. The area is mixed, with... more

The good: It was clean, the staff were friendly and like most of Athens spoke good English. It's close to a metro station, so was easy to find. The bad: The surrounding area is a dump, full of druggies and prostitutes. I live in the East End of London, and felt uncomfortable there. The shower was useless, and the breakfast... more

We stayed at the Epidavros Hotel in early October and liked it enough so we returned at the end of October. The staff were friendly and offered good suggestions for tours and places to go. The room was clean. The breakfast was good. The street outside our room was noisy and busy but the heavy patio doors blocked out the... more

Epidavros Hotel is a good basic accomodation for Athens. It was a bit of a step down from the places I stayed in Santorini, but that is probably to be expected. Things to keep in mind: the front desk doesn't speak English very well, so keep it simple and clear. The hotel is located in a sketchy section of town,... more

Extreemly unfriendly staff, tiny room, the shower had no shower head and water went all over the small bathroom floor after use, the breakfast was horrible, the same lack of variety every morning, plus the woman bringing the food in was extremly rude, the hotel staff were unwelcoming and unhelpful, the noise from the corridoors was so loud all night... more

We needed basic, budget accommodation near all the historic monuments in Athens. Our room was clean, the bed was comfortable and the room was quiet. The fridge didn't work and we didn't have a very nice view, but well, for what we paid, what can you expect. The location was quite good, but be warned - only walk from the... more

Our only problem with the Epidavros was finding it! We took the metro from Athens airport (change at Syntagma square) and got to Omonia square, but walked round in circles for a while, and the area is pretty rough. Walk up Odos Constantinou then take 3rd turning left, walk through the little square and it's right in front of you... more

Nice people but where it gets the third star from is a mystery when you think what *3 means elsewhere. Area is quite rough and their picture is totally misleading. It does not stand alone, but very cramped in tight littered streets full of hawkers and traders. Our double room was clean but tiny and very basic. If it was... more

We stayed here for 2 Nights mainly for the location to all the key sights (Acropolis, Ancient Market, Psiri nightlife). While the property met our needs, its location made us feel a little less than comfortable. The area surrounding the hotel appears somewhat sketchy and questionable. Our room istelf was enough for our needs but ranking as a 3-star property... more
