3 of 5 stars Reviewed yesterday NEW

Stayed here for 2 nights with my wife for a romantic vacation. The hotel is about a 20 minute walk from the flea market, where there is great shopping, and 25 minute walk from the Acropolis. The staff were polite although no one offered to assist us with our bags. And, although they offered to have a car pick us... More

The Melia is a nice hotel - large rooms (by Europe standards), clean and well furnished. The rooftop pool and bar is a great addition, especially in August! Only thing that lets it down - and I have read it in earlier reviews - is the mixed level of service, particularly at the front desk. We ranged from receiving incredibly... More

The Melia is a lovely hotel, well situated in the city of Athens (business district), within walking distance to Omonia Square with a few cafes accessible from the hotel. The staff were helpful and friendly both at the front desk & throughout the hotel. The view to the Acropolis from the pool is fabulous & although the pool area was... More

Bang in the city centre, Melia is great value for money. Typical of any city hotel, room size is average but the rooms here are quite comfortable. The hotel has a gorgeous roof top bar which has a brilliant view of the acropolis at night. Must go to. The stand out point for us was the staff. Very helpful, extremely... More

Not a bad hotel if you're looking for a good rate with a nice rooftop pool with bar and a clean environment. Wifi is only free in the lobby and poolside. Decent food by the bar, good breakfast. Get to the pool area and grab a cabana or lounge chair before it gets too busy!

We were very disappointed to arrive late at night after a long ferry ride from Naxos to check in at Melia and be told they had no record of our booking even though we had the confirmation and receipt from Expedia. To their credit they did find a room at a nearby hotel and paid for a taxi to take... More

What made us choose Melia was the ideal location close to all tourist attractions. The hotel itself was fairly average. The room was ok - I would say about a three star. The pool was small and forever crowded. Breakfast options were poor with very little vegetarian options and hardly anyone there to serve / help out with the food.... More

Centrally located 2-5 minutes away from a fantastic array of bars and restaurants along the streets en route to the Parthenon. Only negative was the charge for in room Wi-Fi (which in this day and age I think is a rip off) and a few undesirables on the streets but hey you get this in every major city nowadays?, The... More

If you're on foot in Athens, this hotel is great! You're within easy walking distance to everything you want to see and cabs are only a rescue ride away when your feet get weary! There are other hotels that are a tad bit closer to the action, but this one did well. There are a lot of residential buildings, pharmacies,... More

Very good, well located, good staff, wonderful breakfasts and Athens! What else? And everything at a reasonable price. Well connected (buses, metro, taxis, etc). The surroundings are mostly "urban" although the National Archeological Museum is at 10 minutes walking (not to be missed !).
