Comfortable and clean room and in a good localization. You can easy get the subway or go to the main sightseeing by walking. It offers a swimming pool on the deck, sauna and fitness room. The breakfast was not included and we decided to take it outside. If you are not Melia member yet, it worths...ask for at the reception... More

Arriving to Hotel Melia we had great expectations from the website and knowing that Melia was a International Hotel that was highly rated. The hotel is a very nice, clean and has a nice eligant feel to it. The rooms are just fine with wood and glass to make it feel up to date and in style. It was fitted... More

I was a bit worried about the location after having read some comments at tripadvisor. Yes, you can see graffitis and tags around the hotel but that's problem everywhere in Athens. The city needs a cleaning campaign and heavy fines for these people. However, the city of Athens was a very pleasant surprise. I did not expect much due to... More

Great location. Excellent staff. Very clean, large rooms and bathroom Excellent breakfast and Terrace view. Very competitive price. One of the best. Be careful with taxi drivers, most of them will try to cheat you. The best is to ask the staff about all information you need. They are very informed and friendly, they helped us a lot.

For a 5 stars hotel with an international brand, i was expecting Melia Athens to be a great hotel. I was quite satisfied with the room as it was quite cosy and comfortable, with a jacuzzi bathtub and massage jet shower. However, we were not satisfied with a few points. Usually upon check-in, the front office staffs would ask on... More

Stayed for 4 nights. Staff were really friendly and helpful and changed our room for us without problem. Hotel has lots of cafes within a few minutes walk and the closest metro station is less than 5 minutes away. Breakfast was plentiful with a ample choice and of good quality. All in all a great hotel for a city stay.

We stated here for a long weekend and choose this hotel because of the nice view from the rooftop to the Acropolis that was displayed on the webpage. Unfortunately the rooftop was under construction, so we didn't had the chance to take a look. Additionally there was plenty of noise early in the morning during the weekend due to the... More

So after a pretty eventful metro journey from the airport to Omonia, we arrived at the Melia Athens and greeted with a smile from the Receptionist. On first impressions the hotel is very grand, with a contemporary feel and spotlessly clean! The receptionist efficiently checked us in and we were given room 804 which is a Supreme Room. The room... Athens welcomed us with the Hotel closing down its aluminium protective screens, and the riot police blocking off the street in anticipation of riots. What a kick off, I wish the hotel could have been lifted out of "this worn down neighbourhood, Hotel Melia deserves a better location. Funny thing this about a first impression. Enough said, we had a... More

We spent 3 days there with my husband in March 2015. The hotel has an old 70s feeling although it seems it has been renovated. The staff was really very helpful and accommodating to all our requests, including asking for a boiler to make tea. We were upgraded (for an extra small fee per day) to a superior room which... Staying in Exarchia

Neighborhood Profile
Exarchia
Exarchia is in many ways Athens’ best-kept secret, discovered by relatively few international visitors. Located behind the main University and Polytechnic buildings, it is unsurprisingly home to many students, intellectuals and politicos. This is reflected in the area’s vibrant street art and graffiti, which seems to cover almost every inch of wall space. Some of the best Athenian tavernas are located here, as well as its most alternative bars and underground music venues. You'll find political bookshops and quirky stores here, yet it is also a neighborhood inhabited by families and older folk. On Saturdays, punks and grandmothers alike head for Kallidromiou Street, nestled below Strefi Hill, to pick up fresh produce at the traditional laiki agora (street market).
