I enjoyed the room (large and clean), breakfast (ok but not outstanding), receptionists (friendly and helpful) and the free wifi. Area is ok during the day but I was told my colleagues to avoid going out at night by foot - still it is very central and close to a tube station

Don't be put off by the area. It looks really rough, but it isn't that bad. There are places to eat in the next street if you're looking for gyros etc. walking distance to the Archealogicical museum, 10 minutes. Walking to the Plaka takes about 20 minutes. Booked the Level experience which was good value. Breakfast included and vouchers for... More

Great combination for a weekend for family with sun, pool, shopping and down-town access. Central and close to Plaka and easy access to the Metro and with a fantastic view over the Acropolis night and day.

I had booked the hotel through my Travel Agent. The hotel is around 30 mins from the Airport. Though we did not spend much time at the hotel. The hotel gave us free wi-fi which was very helpful as when we reached Athens we did not have a local Sim card. The rooms were spacious and the staff was very... More

Fantastic views of the Acropolis from the hotel's roof top swimming pool/ bar. Roof top becomes restuarant at night with same lovely view. Very handy to get to from airport as metro close by. Upgraded to a very large room with Jacuzzi bath and hydroshower. Staff were very helpful and courteous. Great selection for buffet breakfast.

Breakfast had variety and hotel staff was corteous. There are no rooms with Acropolis view as mentioned on Tripadvisor, the monument is visible only from Pool side restaurant, which was closed in March. We signed for a Melia Membership and got Wifi free in our room and a free Water bottle. For the cons there was no electric kettle in standard... More

Staying in Exarchia

Neighborhood Profile
Exarchia
Exarchia is in many ways Athens’ best-kept secret, discovered by relatively few international visitors. Located behind the main University and Polytechnic buildings, it is unsurprisingly home to many students, intellectuals and politicos. This is reflected in the area’s vibrant street art and graffiti, which seems to cover almost every inch of wall space. Some of the best Athenian tavernas are located here, as well as its most alternative bars and underground music venues. You'll find political bookshops and quirky stores here, yet it is also a neighborhood inhabited by families and older folk. On Saturdays, punks and grandmothers alike head for Kallidromiou Street, nestled below Strefi Hill, to pick up fresh produce at the traditional laiki agora (street market).
