What made us choose Melia was the ideal location close to all tourist attractions. The hotel itself was fairly average. The room was ok - I would say about a three star. The pool was small and forever crowded. Breakfast options were poor with very little vegetarian options and hardly anyone there to serve / help out with the food.... More

Centrally located 2-5 minutes away from a fantastic array of bars and restaurants along the streets en route to the Parthenon. Only negative was the charge for in room Wi-Fi (which in this day and age I think is a rip off) and a few undesirables on the streets but hey you get this in every major city nowadays?, The... More

If you're on foot in Athens, this hotel is great! You're within easy walking distance to everything you want to see and cabs are only a rescue ride away when your feet get weary! There are other hotels that are a tad bit closer to the action, but this one did well. There are a lot of residential buildings, pharmacies,... More

Very good, well located, good staff, wonderful breakfasts and Athens! What else? And everything at a reasonable price. Well connected (buses, metro, taxis, etc). The surroundings are mostly "urban" although the National Archeological Museum is at 10 minutes walking (not to be missed !).

great hotel, pleasant staff, handy location. nice roof top pool area. spacious, comfortable, clean rooms. good sleep quality regardless of busy location, due to good isolation. tip: avoid somewhat seedy area directly around the hotel and head straight for downtown attractions. national museum in its neighbourhood is a must-see!

I stayed 6 nights in August, my room was called a shower cabin on the 5th floor which was excellent, very clean and had everything I required. I don't need a mini bar stocked or nibbles / chocolates - may I suggest that in future you don't stock rooms with beverages and nibbles! It's a great location, possibly on the... More

The hotel is close to Omonia Square and within easy walking distance of Monistariki, Plaka and the Archaeological Museum. Contrary to some reviews, the check-in staff were friendly and helpful and we were upgraded to a superior room which was very spacious and with a big bathroom. The roof top pool has wonderful views over the Acropolis and Lycabettus Hill.... More

Nice and clean thoughout, rooftop pool; is ideal apart from lack of sunbeds but there are plenty of chairs, the drinks are expensive but was fantastic view at night with the acropolis and lycabettus hill. Didnt use the hotels breakfast as its £14 each and theres a million cafes close by at way less then that. We found the staff very... More

We were in Athens for four days and began to feel a bit concerned when the taxi was in his way to the hotel from the airport. The area where the hotel is located is not the best one even if located near to a metro station and with a fantastic view of the Parthenon and St. George´s hill. Check... More

We chose Meliá because location. And location is excellent, but… Athens is not beautiful at downtown, it is not clean, it is almost like surreal, they say it is safe, but you don’t feel safe at all: A nightmare of graffiti, of urine smell. If you are sure of moving every time by taxi, then Meliá is for you. Because... More
