The hotel Dore is situated in a residential area not too far from the center of Athens. The closest metro station is Victoria Station and that is a good 15-20 minute walk. The area has some graffiti as 2010 Athens was faced with a political turmoil. The Area is known as Kipseli and the hotel is ½ a block away... More

Ok hotel I guess but wouldn't stay there again. mostly because of transportations, now of course it may be nice if a attractive woman snugs up to you on the bus but when it gets to the point where you start to think what her husband may think and hey is that 2m 120KG bloke over there it? The aircondition... More

This is a great hotel if you want to be away from the city centre (with it's awful traffic), and wish to meet some of the locals in one of the many bars and restaurants in the paved pedestrian street of Aghias Zonis, on which the hotel is located. The area is very busy in the evening, this can be... More

We stayed three nights at this hotel. Initially, we were concerned about the location of this hotel as it is 7 bus stops away from the City area which takes about 30 minutes by the trolley bus. However, we were consoled by the array of reasonable restaurants/eateries along the neighbouring blocks; there are also a few minimarts nearby if you... More

At first, I was a bit upset with the distance of the hotel from the Acropolis and major sites, but after our stay, I was pleasantly surprised with the quiet neighborhood which is well away from the tourist scene, yet easily accessible by tram line. There is a wonderful plaza nearby filled with great local restaurants and cafes -- a... More

We were pleasantly surprised how good the hotel was after reading the reviews of the hotel after we had already booked it! We found it difficult to find, even the taxi driver found it difficult, but once we had our bearings we found it easy to get around. A short walk down the road from the hotel to the main... More

My wife and I and another couple just spent 3 nights at the Dore. It's a small, quiet hotel in a family-oriented neighbourhood (warning: hard to find!). It's conveniently located just a few minutes walk to a main street which has frequent buses to the popular areas like Omonia and Monastiraki, not far away. Our double room had an excellent... More

I stayed here in April and I agree with the previous traveller. Breakfast is a big downfall especially if you are trying to enjoy cold coffee together with the cleaning staff who is shouting and smoking. You also don't need a wake-up call. The cleaning staff will wake you up that is a certain. If you look for a quiet... More

Contary to the previous two "reviewers", our experience with this hotel was not that nice. We stayed here 4 days between 7-11April 2007. 1. A criteria for choosing this hotel was also the availability of internet; however internet in our room was not working. After communicating this for several times to the reception guys, nothing happened. 2. Breakfast was poor... More
