Loved the room design and amenities. After staying in quite a few different hotels in Greece we were very pleasantly surprised by the bathroom and room luxuries. All staff was very pleasant helpful. Room and common areas were very clean. Internet is free in common areas but not in the rooms. For a hotel of this caliber I would expect... More

I spent a couple of nights here with my daughter; the hotel stay had been a gift. I was surprised that there is no free wifi in the rooms as for me that is standard. The room was very dark and opened into a central courtyard where you could not see the sky so we didn't have a clue on... More

Haven't been to Athens and wasn't planning on coming here until the airline gods frowned on me. Am I glad they did as I was able to discover this hotel! The excellent service started as our taxi pulled up to the entrance; from that point forward everything was handled extremely well. The room was upgraded to a nice suite. Minor... More

This is a beautiful hotel and very well located to all the luxurious shopping area. The down side is that you have to go to the Grand Bretagne Hotel (which excellent!). The rooms are very nice. I think that there should be a bar at the main entrance because there is a big open area which is a bit empty.

My wife and I spent 4 nights at the King George. It is an exquisite hotel with such fine rooms and dining restaurants. We used our Platinum suite nights on a gorgeous suite. Breakfast in the restaurant with a view of the Parthenon is a great way to start the day. The hotel's location is excellent- very close to the... More

Top of the line hotel right on Syntagma Square. Excellent staff, very quiet rooms and very clean. The front desk staff had wonderful recommendations for meals out and where to go for the local shops and services. Tudor Hall restaurant on 7th floor was great, and the views from there of the Acropolis were stunning. Friendly and not stuffy service.... More

The best decision of our trip to Greece was to stay at the King George. We were upgraded to a beautiful suite twice, on our first visit when we arrived, and then again after a trip to Santorini. On my birthday we returned to our room to find a birthday cake waiting for me! We cannot say enough nice things... More

The staff here are amazing. They all speak fantastic English, are extremely helpful and genuinely bend over backwards to ensure that your trip is a wonderful one. My friend was so ill during our visit that she didn't leave the hotel for 3 days and they sorted out a doctor for her, gave me advice on things to visit and... More

Great hotel right on Syntagma square. The staff were fantastic - really friendly and among the best I have experienced in Europe. Nice breakfast and restaurant and you can use the excellent pool and spa facilities at the hotel next door. Highly recommended.

Beautiful bedrooms. We were very well looked after. The spa facilities are in the Hotel Grand Bretagne next door and there is a reciprocal arrangement so that you can use their restaurant and roof terrace overlooking the Acropolis.

Staying in Syntagma

Neighborhood Profile
Syntagma
Perhaps the best place to get your bearings is Syntagma Square, crowned by the imposing Parliament building on its upper side and surrounded by other large structures, such as the exclusive Hotel Grande Bretagne. The grand avenues that lead towards Omonia are also full of massive Neoclassical edifices like the Numismatic Museum and those around smaller Platia Kolokotroni. Here you will find lots of travel agents, bookshops and fashion shops, especially on Ermou Street. Just south of Syntagma Square, you can take a breather in the lush National Gardens, which extend into the grounds of the Zappeio palace and beyond to the ancient Temple of Olympian Zeus.
