Yes, we knew of the neighborhood. We even opened the lobby door and it bumped a guy about to shoot up. Omonia is full of thieves. But the staff was great. They placed a few calls for us to inquire about bus times. The room was on the 7th floor, so the views from our private balcony were more skyline... More

We stayed in the Hotel Alma (having not checked Trip Advisor first because I wasn't the one booking), and to be honest, its not a great hotel. The location is in a reasonably poor but improving area, but due to the high number of students and anarchists in Omonia, there is often trouble. On the night we arrived, a protest... More

Never go there! We got a room that was creepy. There were bloody rags on window sill and drug synergys in toilet. Only a cardboard sheet windows, and someone screaming outside our window. We had to change hotel. Insecure and disgusting hotel even during the day, so we couldn´t stay there.

This hotel was booked through travel agency in Greece based on locatio and price, which were reasonable. It is located by Omonia Square ,which is only three subway stops from Acropolis. We were shocked by the appearance of the hotel and it's lobby. It reminded more of a homeless shelter. The area was surrounded by drugg addicts, drunks. When we... More

The Alma is handy if arriving at Kifissou 100 bus station (its close to local bus 51 route) or Syndagma (15 mins). Good reductions available off-season but the peak rate of 100 Euros for our twin room is ridiculous. The room was ok and bathroom above average for Greece budget accommodation (it had a shower curtain) but the problem is... More

This hotel is central, by Omonia Square, and not too noisy. It's basic but everything worked and was clean. Yes the 'breakfast' of toast and coffee is poor but no we saw no drug taking at all in 5 days there. It's safe and the restaurant next door reasonable.

Obviously, there is nothing to add. 20 euro per night is a good price, especially, when the hotel is in the city center. For me it was a base for city trip, so I've arrived there at night. Omonia square is famous to be dangerous at night, and I've experienced evil looks from homeless, drug addicts, simply drunk and street... More

I went to this hotel with my sister, we are both female in our mid 20's. I arrived at this hotel with very very very low expectations, because of reading other reviews. i was expecting a dirty room in a hotel in a druggy infested alleyway. the room was clean but the alleyway was indeed full of people on drugs,... I stayed 3 times in this hotel Why ? Because is very cheap..... Situated in central Athens... Good connection to the Airport, Piraeus Port and Main bus Terminal to Greece... Hotel is Old. Without view, Without extra service.....but......staff was fine, breakfast was continental (bread, butter, cheese, jam, tea or coffee, orange nektar - not juice) First time, I spent 27... More
