I''ve stayed at Adonis three times now, and I will definitely stay there next time I visit Athens. Nice and clean, and a wonderful view of the Acropolis. Friendly staff, and it's situated in Plaka, the centre of everything. Even though it's in the middle of the big city, it's quiet and calm around the hotel. Can't wait to get... more

Bare bones room, but clean and very friendly and helpful staff. Very well situated location. Felt safe and liked the neighborhood. Gave us great access to shops and restaurants, a neighbood children's art museum and the Acropolis for the less than 24 hours that we had in Athens before flying out to Santorini. We could not have accomplished so much... more

It's location is great, in the centre of Athens, close to centre of famous Plaka, near bus and metro stations. Furthermore it is marvelous to have your breakfast overlooking the Acropolis. The rooms are comfortable and always spotlessly clean and the staff very helpful and friendly, typical Greek persons. They also speak good English. The next time I'll be in... more

I originally booked for three nights but after the first night we decided to look around. It would have been OK to put up with rumpled sheets, cigarette burned blankets, a grim bathroom and someone elses toothpaste spoodle on the glasses if necessary ,but two blocks away we found the Omiris Hotel. For twenty euro more we got a clean... more

I booked a twin bedded room by e-mail because my husband has Parkinsons which they knew about. We were allocated a double bed instead but, although it did not look particularly old, it was terrible. Perhaps it had not been assembled correctly - we don't know. Every time one of us moved, the bed creaked dreadfully. We didn't need to... more

I've stayed at the Adonis a few times while travelling through Athens. While it's not posh i've always found it spotlessly clean, staff are friendly and helpful and speak good English. It's location is great for Athens attractions and near bus and metro stops. I hope to be having my breakfast overlooking the Acropolis very soon. more

Great location, wonderful view of Acropolis from roof terrace, breakfast adequate and room likewise. Close to centre of Plaka and all the sights. Staff helpful and paying for room in cash was no problem to me. Barb more

When we arrived the staff didn't help us w our luggage, demanded cash on departure (which was not in any emails), were impatient w our Internet use, didn't make our beds, controlled the a/c, had paper-thin walls, & had the shower/bath described elsewhere (that ran all-night.) We chose the Adonis because its good reviews but regret its only positive features... more

for my first visit to athens i chose this hotel because of it's great location and reasonable price. i looked on tripadvisor just a day before leaving and learned some things that helped me prepare for the trip (like bringing my own shampoo)! the location is excellent and the staff could not have been more friendly or helpful. yes, as... more
