Nicely decorated, great staff. Hotel is situated in a quiet location, but very close to all the major attractions Athens has to offer. My room didn't have a view, but climbing up to the roof for breakfast or drinks in the evening made that irrelevant. Price is also fair. Only reason im giving this hotel 4* is the sound proofing... Hotel in easy walking distance of Acrpolis & other sites. Close to main Plaka shops & restaurants. Rooms basic but clean. Shower rose not attached to wall making it difficult to gave proper shower. Beds were just ok but AC was good. Roof top views were excellent. We stayed 4 nights & breakfast was very boring. Same every day, canned... More

We stayed 2 nights and found the hotel to be clean and comfortable. It was an excellent location for walking to the main sites and attractions. The front desk spoke English and was very helpful with our walking tours. The hotel was very close to food and we discovered street food within 2 blocks that had delicious gyros at a... More

Adonis was an amazing hotel. the location is good, i had the chance to walk to most historical places. i received warm and excellent services at the hotel. I couldn't have asked for a more enjoyable time than I had there. The room was marvelous, the food and surrounding restaurants were superb, and the reception/housekeeping was fabulous. My memories in... More

We were lucky enough to get a room on the 4th floor facing the Acropolis and the view was fantastic! The room itself was a good size, very clean and comfortable, the bathroom like most others in Greece was small but manageable. We had a very large terrace that was really great to drink coffee on in the morning (brought... More

My partner and me stayed in this hotel for 2 nights. The room was simple, but good enough for a short stay in Athens. The location of the hotel was perfect. The street was really quiet, one minute from the touristic area and 5 minutes from the city center. The staff was friendly and professional. The breakfast took place on... More

My husband and I started our greece adventure here for two nights. It was what we expected from the reviews. Great rooftop view of the city and acropolis where they serve a nice breakfast and at night you can end your day by ordering drinks. Room adequate, sink and shower childsized. Bed really uncomfortable, you can feel the coils but... More

This hotel has a great location, it is central and yet quiet. The rooms are very basic and a bit dark. However, the staff is friendly. The views from the restaurant are nice and the breakfast is just OK.

This hotel lives up to your expectations. It is a good bang for your buck. It has friendly staff, nice cozy rooms, clean facilities, good cable, good wifi, great breakfast and unbeatable location. The hotel is right in the Plaka, within walking distance to the Acropolis. I am not a big person but rest rooms might be on the small... More

The little hotel's central position came as a pleasant surprise to me. Very quiet pedestrian area but close to public transport. On the whole the staff are friendly and helpful. Unfortunately my room, which I had booked for 7 days 3 months earlier, had not been vacated by the previous customer, so they put me in a double room but... More

Staying in Plaka

Neighborhood Profile
Plaka
Due to its proximity to the Acropolis, Plaka remains the area where the majority of foreign visitors stay and play. Its attractive features include small squares, some notable museums and the beautiful Mitropolis cathedral, as well as a host of places to stay, eat and drink. Its pedestrian zones make it a pleasant place to escape from the city’s notorious traffic. Adrianou and Kidathineon Streets contain a number of souvenir shops, offering classier items than you will find in the Flea Market. The most rewarding section to explore is the upper reaches towards the Acropolis itself, where many old stone houses with tiled roofs have survived. Up here you can find leafier corners and the odd quaint taverna with unobstructed views of the ancient rock.
