We checked into Rio hotel by passing by, we were looking for a hotel, getting off the bus, walked into this hotel. The hotel bar tender girl Stephie was very helpful, she speaks English!!! After spent a week on Kefalonia island, meet someone who speaks English was divine. The receptionist/cook Helana is very helpful too. Overall, we like the location,... More

Highly unpleasant (and almost indecent) staff. The rooms are terrible, the beds seem like they are assembled in some shed by people that never handled power tools. Everything was generally dirt (sheets, tables, floor), the bath actually being the cleanest. Walls are very thing so you can hear everything (if you know what I mean) from the rest of the rooms,... I have traveled to many countries and this is by far the worst hotel I have ever stayed at in my life. I booked this hotel through American Airlines Vacations for 9 nights and it was a big mistake. I was traveling with my husband and three kids (ages 20, 18 and 15). I understand that this is a budget... More

It was a last minute booking. Hotel was standard and clean overall it was good but some staff can't speak English but they were quite nice. Wifi is not really good its only 3 hours limited and you need to ask again for login details but they happy to give you any time.

Our check-in was very fast, the lady who checked us in spoke good English and was friendly and helpful. That was not the case with all employees, some of them didn't speak English at all, and some seemed irritated if we asked about anything. This place was advertised as a budget hotel, and so the room size and quality were... More

We booked our Athens vacation on a budget, as most people do, but I honestly expected more for what I paid. I have stayed at cleaner and more up to date hotels across from brothels in Thailand for less. Let's start with the hotel check in. We got off the metro in a run down area which wasn't terrible and... More

We left our run late to book a more central hotel in Athens so on advice we booked the Rio. It wasn’t bad, but we got what we paid for. A little out of Athens centre, it is surrounded by a run-down neighbourhood and restaurants that supplied less than interesting but cheap nosh. The room was clean, the bathroom tiny... More

i don't usally write reviews about hotels, but this one is so bad that i want to warn everybody. The owners are really rude, they don't care about your comfort, just your money. They think just because you don't understand greek, they can say or do anything. The breakfast was terrible, cold coffee, over brewed tea, old bread. Not to... More

I liked this hotel overall. Great location. Very clean rooms. Good staff. The hotel is 50 meters away from the metro station. Breakfast is excellent. Cost is proportional to the service. The staff was very friendly and helpful. The rooms were very nice clean and tidy. For staying in Athens on a budget, this is the place. I would definitely... More

Staff are not friendly at all,the important thing to them is your money and the owner was so rude expecially if you have children he shouted at the kids and telling them not to eat in the dining area No hairdryers in the room as they said and one filthy broken iron which is dangerous to use and can easily...
