Spent a night here and was very impressed. Lovely room, small but comfy with a balcony that overlooked a square. Breakfast with a view of the Acropolis was fantastic and had no trouble with birds. Great selection of restaurants nearby, short walk to the Parthenon and Monstrakki square which was like a market place. Would highly recommend staying in the... More

The hotel is right in the centre of Plaka and within easy walking distance of all the main archaeological sights, the parliament building and ancient Olympic stadium. There are numerous restaurants and cafes located right on its doorstep and the shops and flea market are near by. The rooms are fairly basic and some balconies only have a view of... More

Overnight stay after being on the Islands, Hotel Adrian was easy to find from the metro and just as easy to get to the airport in the morning. We had a small comfortable room with good bed and bath and a small balcony with a view of the Acropolis. The staff were friendly and helpful. A well run small hotel.... More

The hotel is right in the Plaka and only a short walk to many of the attractions in Athens. The staff were friendly and helpful and the room we stayed in was spacious with a balcony giving you a street view of the Plaka. There was plenty of hanging space and drawer space in the room as well. One of... More

The hotel is rather old and in need of repairs and refurbishment but the rooms are clean and basic but comfortable. Breakfast is excellent, served on the roof garden, which is very pretty, with flowers and plants everywhere and an amazing view of the Acropolis. This is worth visiting in itself. The only drawback was the numerous sparrows and pigeons... More

Well located. Close to the Plaka, The Plaka is such a good area to explore for food, clothes, shoes and gifts, as well as shops selling natural and organic beauty/skin products. And some rooms have a great view of the Acropolis lit by night...and also from the rooftop breakfast restaurant. The breakfast was generous and served great fruit and Greek... More

Small hotel in the heart of the Plaka on Adrianou St. Easy walk to Acropolis and other sites. Surrounded by lots of restaurants and cafes. Small room and tiny bathroom. Clean and functional. We had a balcony over the street as well. A/c for the hot weather. Delightful rooftop breakfast area looking straight up to the Acropolis. If you're looking... More

Avoid this Hotel. The pictures do not correspond. The hotel is simply old and dirty, run down and with bad service. Only very few rooms have a view. Otherwise they either give onto a shabby courtyard or on a narrow and busy street above souvenir shops.

Staying in Plaka

Neighborhood Profile
Plaka
Due to its proximity to the Acropolis, Plaka remains the area where the majority of foreign visitors stay and play. Its attractive features include small squares, some notable museums and the beautiful Mitropolis cathedral, as well as a host of places to stay, eat and drink. Its pedestrian zones make it a pleasant place to escape from the city’s notorious traffic. Adrianou and Kidathineon Streets contain a number of souvenir shops, offering classier items than you will find in the Flea Market. The most rewarding section to explore is the upper reaches towards the Acropolis itself, where many old stone houses with tiled roofs have survived. Up here you can find leafier corners and the odd quaint taverna with unobstructed views of the ancient rock.
