I spent 2 nights in this hotel with my daughter since we wanted to visit the Acropolis. Location is perfect, safe area with restaurants close to Acropolis and shopping area. Apart from this we had a horrible experience in this very standard hotel. We arrived in the evening coming by they airport (they do not provide any transfer by the... More

We have been to Athens for 3 days for sightseeing and shopping. We had a nice renovated room at the second floor, with view at the little church. Breakfast is also OK. We definitely would choose the Amazon hotel again. Very good price/quality value.

We had 3 rooms on the same floor for 1 night on 6/20/2015. Not all rooms are the same for the same price. 1 room was quite large and comfortable. Other 2 rooms smaller. Beds a bit on the firm side. Hotel located on a small busy street, but the rooms were quiet. Good location if you don't want a... More

Nice hotel in the Plaka, perfectly located for a tourist stay in Athens. Every main attractions 5 to 15min walk from this hotel, and a lot of Bars / Cafes / Taverns around. Our room was nice and tidy, friendly staff. Only negative note: A little bit noisy if you have a room on the main street.

We enjoyed staying at this hotel as it was close to everything that we enjoyed including the famous plaka. We were in a room that could view the acropolis which was fantastic. Breakfast was lovely with a wide range of food to choose from. Beds were comfortable and the wifi worked well in the room. Overall we were very happy... More

The hotel is ideally situated for walking to all the major historical sites , restaurants a plenty, shopping and market areas. Also ideal for metro or bus X95 from airport , we used the bus , it's every 30 mins , 5euro pp and a10 min walk from Syndagma square terminus to hotel. Clean and modern with good breakfast ,... The hotel location is excellent, and for the price we paid, it is a very good value for money. Rooms are nice, clean, beds are comfortable. Buffet breakfast is ok and staff nice and friendly. Very close to Syntagma and Monastiraki Sq, with a full variety of restaurants at Plaka nearby.

Nice hotel, centrally located to the Plaka and Syntagma Square, and the hip on hop off bus. Also numerous restaurants nearby. The room was clean and comfortable, we had a three bed room so it was a bit larger than the normal rooms I believe. Would recommend a visit.

Decently located, but I would have preferred to stay closer to The Plaka and The Acropolis. This is more of a dirty business section of town. But it was available on short notice. In our 2 weeks stay all over Greece, this was the only uncomfortable mattress and pillows we encountered! The breakfast that we counted on before dashing to... More

Staying in Plaka

Neighborhood Profile
Plaka
Due to its proximity to the Acropolis, Plaka remains the area where the majority of foreign visitors stay and play. Its attractive features include small squares, some notable museums and the beautiful Mitropolis cathedral, as well as a host of places to stay, eat and drink. Its pedestrian zones make it a pleasant place to escape from the city’s notorious traffic. Adrianou and Kidathineon Streets contain a number of souvenir shops, offering classier items than you will find in the Flea Market. The most rewarding section to explore is the upper reaches towards the Acropolis itself, where many old stone houses with tiled roofs have survived. Up here you can find leafier corners and the odd quaint taverna with unobstructed views of the ancient rock.
