The hostel is ok. I stayed with a friend in a double room with shared bathroom. The room was fine and clean. The shared bathroom was not clean at all but if you stay just for few days is fine because the posizion is perfect, only few minutes walking from the acropolis

I spent roughly a week here and can say you get what you pay for but it isn't below average. The staff are great, some of the best I have seen in my travels. There is free Wi-Fi and a common area for people to hang out. The location is best in Plaka right below the Acropolis and walking distance... More

I stayed there with a couple of friends for a trip. The position is really good, it's close to Acropolis and to some of the main monuments of the city. The rooms are cleaned and large but a little bit cold, they could turn on the heating only for a couple of hours in the night. Shared bathrooms are in... More

It's a very nice place especially for young people who want to spend less than 10 euro per night. Staff availability is great, it's in the centre of the greek capital. Breakfast is included and it's good. Rooms are a little bit cold and wet...maybe in summertime it would not be a problem. I advice to visit the place. Actually... More

In this case, for 25 bucks I got a dark room in the souterrain with three beds to myself. Although my booking said something about a balcony there was obviously no such thing in a cellar room. Bathrooms across the hall were not particularly clean and showers had seen their best days. The whole place looks rather worn. Certainly not... More

Bed bugs. Room 12. Don't risk it. Staff first said that they would clean the room, and then moved me to another room only when I insisted that I wouldn't spend another night in that room. Staff also made comments that the bites were probably from mosquitoes, until I produced a dead bed bug to show them. I'd recommend this... More

Myself and two friends stayed here comfortably. There is free wifi and the staff is very nice. He even let us use his computer to look up ferry times because we did not have our own. He helped us get a cab and everything. The location is good, but make sure you look closely at the street signs because it... More

After a long day and a stressful drama getting to Greece, it was a relief to arrive at 4am to friendly and helpful staff! The location couldn't have been more perfect. Really easy to get to from the airport, even if unfamiliar with the city. Central to public transport, not that it really matters as most of the main landmarks... More

Staying in Plaka

Neighborhood Profile
Due to its proximity to the Acropolis, Plaka remains the area where the majority of foreign visitors stay and play. Its attractive features include small squares, some notable museums and the beautiful Mitropolis cathedral, as well as a host of places to stay, eat and drink. Its pedestrian zones make it a pleasant place to escape from the city’s notorious traffic. Adrianou and Kidathineon Streets contain a number of souvenir shops, offering classier items than you will find in the Flea Market. The most rewarding section to explore is the upper reaches towards the Acropolis itself, where many old stone houses with tiled roofs have survived. Up here you can find leafier corners and the odd quaint taverna with unobstructed views of the ancient rock.
