This is a nice hotel for the price. It's a bit old and not a great standard, but the location is perfect. You're close to a lot of the things you would want to see in Athens. And I you want you can have breakfast on the rooftop with a lovely view of the Acropolis.

If you are not looking for luxury, if clean sheets&towels and comfy beds are enough for you and if you want to stay at the heart of Athens, this is definitely your hotel. It is a two-minute walk from the Acropolis metro station and 3-4 minutes to the Acropolis. There are a lot of good restaurants, cafés and bistros nearby.... More

This hotel represents exceptional value and a perfect location as long as you are prepared to make a few sacrifices. The rooms are basic but clean. The showers are passable if a little testing and smoking is allowed in the building so if you come from a country where it is banned you may find it challenging. Breakfast is basic... More

The hotel is less than a minute walk away from the metro, acropolis, shops, restaurants, museums, 5 minutes to the temple of Zeus. It offers basic amenities. Shower, TV, WiFi, lift, heating and air conditioning. We traveled with our two younger children ages 3 and 6. We all had a good stay. The reception was very kind to print the... More

A friend of mine stayed here for 2 days in June and I dropped by to pick her up and show her around the city. She was totally disappointed with her stay. She compared it to a nightmare. Cons: Rude, dirty, no Wi Fi in the room, breakfast is totally disappointing. No shower curtain in the bathroom. No matter how... More

First of all, the location is exceptionally!! Me and my husband came from the airport by metro (take the blue line from the airport until Sintagma, change with red line for 1 station up to Akropoli, the ticket for 2 is 14 Eur one way), It is amazing (taking your breath) when you come outside (go to Makrigianni exit) on... i was here in june 2014. the best part of the hotel is the location..you are within walking distance of acropolis station and all the major archeological sites. on the first day, i was disappointed as i was given a room below ground level. but later, when the owner realised i was willing to pay up front for a better... We loved the family feel and special care we received by the owners. Rooms were decent size and well cleaned daily. The location put us within walking distance of every major site. Great value for the money. We would stay here again

Great Location, just a few meters from the Metro station and in easy walking distance from the Acropolis. The bathroom was fine, and the air conditioning worked well. There was a note on the window warning not to open it as there are a lot of mosquitoes - this was a shame, as the balcony looked nice. The room was... More

We arrived and barely got a look from the woman on reception. We were put in one of the basement rooms. It smelt strongly of urine, the bathroom was damp and dirty with no shower curtain, the base of the shower flooded and we didn't have hot water on the second day. There was a constant clicking noise from the... More

Staying in Plaka

Neighborhood Profile
Due to its proximity to the Acropolis, Plaka remains the area where the majority of foreign visitors stay and play. Its attractive features include small squares, some notable museums and the beautiful Mitropolis cathedral, as well as a host of places to stay, eat and drink. Its pedestrian zones make it a pleasant place to escape from the city’s notorious traffic. Adrianou and Kidathineon Streets contain a number of souvenir shops, offering classier items than you will find in the Flea Market. The most rewarding section to explore is the upper reaches towards the Acropolis itself, where many old stone houses with tiled roofs have survived. Up here you can find leafier corners and the odd quaint taverna with unobstructed views of the ancient rock.
