Travelers beware. This hotel is worn, dirty and well overpriced. They do not provide internet with the rate so everyone sits downstairs in the lobby (crowded) to try to connect. You can pay for internet but its by the hour! Also, the wallpaper is peeling, the furniture is very worn. Nothing about this is 4 Star.

Yes, the rooms are small and the decor could use some updating and Wi-Fi is spotty - but why did you come to Athens? To stay inside your hotel room? The Hotel Astor's location cannot be beat. It is within walking distance to just about anywhere you want to go. Syntagma Square's a stone throw away. The Palaka district, Monastariki,... More

We stayed at this hotel for two nights. The staff is helpful and accommodating. The breakfast was good, with a variety of fruit, pastries, hardboiled eggs, coffee and tea. The room was small and the beds were uncomfortable. The price was right and the location was great.

There are 2 things that makes this hotel decent: location and cleanliness. The room is super tiny, bed set against the wall, furniture too big for the size of the room. Seems like they tried to update the room but did a very cheap job. Don't let them fool you, it is NOT a 4 star hotel, barely a 3... More

We stayed here for two nights before leaving on a cruise. Staff are pleasant and obliging. Our travel agent requested a room on the 5th floor or above and we were on the 6th floor, with a balcony, overlooking the street. It wasn't at all noisy. We did have a problem with the hot water, though. Our lovely cleaning lady... More

I stayed at the Astor for 3 nights on a business trip. The room was dark, dingy and pokey. On arrival, I discovered my towels had dubious dirt marks. Wifi was charged at 15 euros and ran at a snail' space. The roof top restaurant was rather limited, although the view was by far the hotel's best feature. There was... More

The room was small, smelt of stale cigarettes and had clearly not been decorated for at least 30 years. I have never slept on such an uncomfortable bed before! As I lay awake at 2 in morning, I received a message from my friend in another room saying that the bed was "like mortician's slab". I could not have agreed... More

We stayed for 1 night in May . The room was very small . The bed was up against the wall on one side and then with a small bedside table on the other side meant the door to the hallway /bathroom could not close . The room was quiet and was adequate for what we needed . They were... More

The Astor is a 3-star hotel and that's a good description. The breakfast on the roof is the best feature with a stunning Acropolis view. The elevators have been updated and are fast. The rooms are clean and also updated, but noisy. We were jet-lagged and would have slept anywhere, but after 2 nights when catch-up was over, it became... More
