Absolutely nothing to write home about in a positive nature. I don’t mind outdated or old when it comes to hotels, their rooms and their drab furnishings. However, I will draw the line at two areas: cleanliness and quiet. And in that regard my advice is to stay somewhere else. We only picked this hotel for one night on our... More

Thankfully we had booked for just one night. Yes the location is good as it is just off Syntagma Square but there are many other hotels around there that must be better. The room was dated with old scratched furniture and the bathroom was gross. It did not feel clean and the toilet seat was cracked plastic. Yuk. The breakfast... More

Great location, clean and a little on the no frills side but it did the job for us...walking distance to everything and we slept great on the hard beds...breakfast was adequate and the sidewalk cafe was a great meeing place...on the 11th there was trouble outside the hotel and this made for educational watching...would stay here again ..also loved the... The negative reviews on here are a bit surprising given how inexpensive this hotel is. If you want amenities, you're not likely to find them in this location for this price. If you want a decent place in an unbeatable location, the Arethusa is fine. The room is pretty large by European standards. I've stayed in MUCH smaller places in... More

This hotel located right in the city center, close to Syntagma sq., main shopping streets and airport bus stop. It`s the biggest plus of this hotel. Also hotel has nice rooftop teracce, from which you can see Acropolis. The room is clean, but old-furnished and bathroom isn`t cosy. The breakfast is very basic althought there are eggs, vegetables, cheese, fresh... More

Two of us stayed at this hotel for one night. We had stayed at two other hotels in Athens and this one was the worst one. The only thing going for this hotel is the convenient location close to the metro train, restaurants, shopping, etc. Here are some of the issues: Only found one electrical outlet. It was very dark-even... More

Stayed for 2 nights in October 10. Room was spacious. 1st floor on the side street made it noisy, as traffic didn't quieten down until very early hours. Location is central to transport and shopping etc. Breakfast is excellent. Elevator from lobby is the smallest I have ever seen. Good for getting to know other guests. The top floors have... More

Stayed here for 4 nights as a package for the Athens Classic Marathon. Location is excellent - very central - close to Syntagma Square and walking distance to so many points of interest. Our room was 701 on the 7th floor - a good sized room but it looked tired. However it was comfortable enough although the street noise was... More

The hotel Arethusa, just off Syntagma square, is a great value for money hotel. Fantastic location, brand new refurbished bathrooms in the first floor, where we stayed, very old hotel and rooms, but clean. The people were friendly, a good hotel to be in the center of Athens, clean and good value.

Excellent location - just off Sintagma Square, very close to Plaka. Airport shuttle stop just one block from the hotel. Clean, comfortable, inexpensive, family owned and operated.
