Clean room, warm and helping staff and great view from the roof. They also have free parking. 30 minutes walk to Acropolis and Lots of resterunts near by. Didn't take breakfest, not sure it's worth the money.

Have just stayed here with a group of teenage girls as part of a voluntary trip. Was so much higher quality than expected and the staff could not have been more kind and helpful, really went out of their way to accommodate us. Excellent for those on a budget. Location is a little far away from the main sights but... More

The hotel itself was lovely. It was very clean, the rooms were quite nice. There was also a full kitchen on the top level with a terrace that looked out over the city where you could prepare yourself some breakfast (there was extra cost if you wanted them to cook) or have a drink after returning in the evenings. The... More

Positive points: quiet hotel, good cost benefit ratio, room with bathroom, fridge, TV, good wifi. Quiet neighborhood, with many restaurants down the Benaki street. Friendly staff. Nice view of Atenas city from the terrace of the hotel. There is a big supermarket near the hotel, around 5 min by foot from the hotel (you walk up Kallidromiou street, turn left... More

This hotel is far from the plaka. 25 minute walk. Its way top of a hill, graffiti everywhere. At night young kids lurk the area to hang out. They didn't mess with us but at night the noise is really loud. There is a mini center about 5 blocks down has cafés, bar, Resto and mini mart. Beware of taxi... More

We arrived early evening from long flight to be greeted by friendly staff in reception. We had booked a room in the sister hotel Dryades, but were offered choice of rooms and choose a newly renovated room in Orion hotel with a small balcony. We really enjoyed our stay, staff were very helpful, guiding us to nearby bus stop to... More

I was originally supposed to stay at Dryades instead of Orion, but when I was offered an Acropolis-view double at Orion instead of my budget double at Dryades, the decision was easy. The rooms have recently been renovated (within the past 2 months or so), and while they are relatively small, they offer enough room for at least a few... More

I stayed there twice in July 2013 with my two kids (8 and 13). The rooms are small but neat, there is a wonderful terrace on the top with the nicest view on the acropolis at night. The neighborhood is great for my standards, active, full of great places to eat, drink and to get lost through the stairs and... More

It is a very plain, old building, but it is in the best area ever! You have to climb a bit of stairs becase it is up to the hill but it is ok. Of course it is a problem if someone has a disability. The owner, mr Kostas I think, is a really nice person! Warm, honest and very... More

This hotel was recommended by a family friend, but I can't see why. It boasts a view of the acropolis and convenient location, but the view does not make up for the distance or Bohemia in which it is located. The walk to the nearest metro station was at least a 15 minute hike through densly crowded and dirty streets,... More

Staying in Exarchia

Neighborhood Profile
Exarchia is in many ways Athens’ best-kept secret, discovered by relatively few international visitors. Located behind the main University and Polytechnic buildings, it is unsurprisingly home to many students, intellectuals and politicos. This is reflected in the area’s vibrant street art and graffiti, which seems to cover almost every inch of wall space. Some of the best Athenian tavernas are located here, as well as its most alternative bars and underground music venues. You'll find political bookshops and quirky stores here, yet it is also a neighborhood inhabited by families and older folk. On Saturdays, punks and grandmothers alike head for Kallidromiou Street, nestled below Strefi Hill, to pick up fresh produce at the traditional laiki agora (street market).
