For travelers looking for a budget hotel in Athens, this is an excellent choice. Rooms are basic, but clean. We had a quad with a double bed and 2 singles - which fit our family of 4 (2 kids) fine. Shared bathroom was small but always clean. Beautiful balcony overlooking a quiet, dead-end street. Super friendly and helpful staff. Residential... More

What a gem! This little hotel is tucked away in a sidestreet in the Koukaki district, a 10 minute walk from the Acropolis, and all the bars and restaurants of Plaka and Monastiraki (20 mins). The Syngrou fix Metro and Tram stops are just a 3 minute walk away. Whilst Koukaki itself is a little tired and quiet, a residential... More

The Marble hotel is central (just 2 metro stations from Syntagma), quiet and safe. The rooms are renovated, well decorated and very clean. To be noted: there is a family atmosphere plus reliable staff. In a nutshell, it is an excellent option.

The hotel is a 15 minute walk at most from the Acropolis, and it seems like a good neighborhood. A supermarket is around the corner. It is an easy walk from the Metro. The owner was very accomodating and I stayed in 2 different rooms due to availability, and found they differed in quality. One had a very uncomfortable bed,... More

What can we say besides this place is gorgeous. If it had a view of the Acropolis or would be 100s of Euros a night. Better than that, the owners are a beautiful family and could not have been nicer. Our room was recently renovated, and was visually the nicest place we stayed the entire time. The metro station is... More

We had heard that the Plaka was the place to be in Athens. It is if you like noise, lots of tourists, rip-off/marginally good restaurants, and pick-pockets. The Marble House is south of the Acropolis (rather than north) in a quiet, safe neighborhood, all within about a 10-minute walk. The restaurants are amazing, and Christos (a second-generation hotelier in a... More

Email communication was good before arrival. Helpful staff. Nice continental breakfast served outside. Our room was downstairs, quite dark and not particularly modern but clean and tidy. We did a lot of exploring in Athens and could have done with a tea tray when we got back for a rest in the room. We could not order a drink at... More

What a pleasant stay! Marble house is cheap and conveniently located. 5 minutes walking to teh Siggrou Fix metro station. I was looking for a cheap stay; I took a twin with bink beds. The room was really tiny, but we had a big balcony with chairs and table that we used a lot. In the room there was a... More

4 of 5 stars Reviewed April 18, 2015 via mobile

Although I will start this review with some warnings, I had a very positive experience at the Marble House. That said, if you are looking for luxury and a super sized full service American style hotel, this is not the place for you. There is no elevator. There are no bellhops. There is no pool. However, I wanted to come... More

4 of 5 stars Reviewed April 13, 2015

Probably the best value I've ever seen in a major city hotel. The directly surrounding area isn't the nicest but it's safe and a short walk (10 minutes) to everything. Also, as we were there in April, the smell of the orange blossoms lining the street will probably always stay with me. Having said this, the most enjoyable part of... More
