Probably the best value I've ever seen in a major city hotel. The directly surrounding area isn't the nicest but it's safe and a short walk (10 minutes) to everything. Also, as we were there in April, the smell of the orange blossoms lining the street will probably always stay with me. Having said this, the most enjoyable part of... More

The hotel (literally marble) is located in a cosy street yet very close to the metro station and main attractions of Athens. The personnel is professional and very helpful (sent detailed instructions how to get to the hotel from the airport and fulfilled every single request I had). My room and bathroom were very clean (though bedcover and towels could... More

This was definitely the best choice I could have made for my weekend trip to Athens. I was going with a group of people who booked into an Ibis hotel, but I wanted something a bit more personalised and local and booked Marble House largely because it was recommended in my Lonely Planet book. I'm so glad I did. The... More

I have stayed at the Marble house 3 different times over the last 20 years. I have never been disappointed! It is within walking distance to all main attractions, and is located in a safe quiet area near the bus line. For a "budget" hotel, it is quiet, clean and friendly. Highly recommended!

Marble House hotel is clean, comfortable and within walking distance to main attractions in Athens. Also there is a metro and tram station, as well as bus stop, within a 5 min walk. Also there are many (and good) restaurant options around. The staff was very friendly and helpful. Some services, as the AC and breakfast are available upon extra... More

Enjoyable stay in this little hotel which is extremely well located just south of the Acropolis (15 minutes walk to the Acropolis museum, 25 minutes walk to the entrance of the Acropolis). For this kind of location in Athens, the rooms prices are very good value. Further practical aspects on the location is the proximity of a metro station and... More

In the world of budget travel they say you get what you pay for but in the case of Marble House you get much more. This small hotel which is renovated regularly has the feel of an authentic Greek island pension that has been dropped into bustling Athens. It is small (though, to Australians most everything in Europe is small)... More

We had a family room - great location; quiet. We felt like we were in amongst the locals despite only a 10 min walk to the Acropolis and the touristy areas. Friendly and hospitable family run guest house. Note: bathrooms are shared. The room was basic but clean and everything we needed. Our room had a balcony overlooking the tiny... More

I stayed at Marble House alone for 3 nights and together with my sister for one night. The location was perfect - close enough to the tourist attractions, yet far enough away to be quiet and peaceful. As a single woman I felt perfectly safe walking alone in the neighbourhood at night and was able to walk to all the... More

My husband and I traveled to Athens at the end of October 2014, and this was our first hotel after arriving in Greece. It was just right. It took 10 to 15 minutes or so walk to the Acropolis, museums, and the old city. The hotel is on a small, dead end street, so it was quiet. Our room had... More
