Important to stress that this is a 3* hotel and this is what I have based my review on. For this type of hotel this is an excellent place to stay. Located right in the centre of Athens only a 20 minute walk from the Acropolis and lots of great places to eat around. The staff are very friendly, welcoming... More

We had a two day stay present cruise. .. having heard mixed opinions about Athens we were a bit apprehensive. .. we enjoyed Athens and the hotel is perfectly located ... rooms are small but very clean ... free WiFi ... free safe .. rooftop terrace bar / view fantastic. .. breakfast not good ...hotel stipulates free coffee but when... Hotel Attalos is brilliantly located just 200m from Monastiraki Square. Most of the city's tourist sites (Acropolis, Ancient Agora, parliament building etc) are no more than a 20 minute walk away. Monastiraki Square has a major metro station, offering easy access to other parts of the city. Monastiraki is crammed with restaurants serving traditional Greek food, and the extensive flea... More

This hotel was conveniently located with most attractions accessible by foot. Keep in mind we are "walkers". Down the road was a popular square where there are lots of restaurants and allies of shops. The hotel itself is average. Nothing glamorous but the price is right and so is the location. There is a breakfast area if you chose to... More

Stayed here in June 2014 not 2015 (reviewed late) for 5 nights. Good location for the price we paid which averaged out to be around $100 per night. The hotel is in the city center area so we walked everywhere. The room was okay and the wifi worked better than the wifi we had in Santorini. Elevator is small, but... More

We stayed at the Attalos Hotel for three nights. The hotel is well situated, being only 100 meters from the Monastariki metro station in Athens. You can get a train from Athens airport to Monastariki station. The hotel is a typical 3 star hotel. It is reasonably priced, clean and the staff are friendly. The beds are comfortable and one... This hotel is ideally situated for visiting the Acropolis, the new archaeological museum, the Plaka (for restaurants) and the Monastiraki (for flea market). The room was comfortable, with A/C, and had a small balcony. The highlight, though, was the rooftop terrace bar which provided a wonderful view of the Acropolis both day and night. The staff were friendly and informative.... More

I have chosen this hotel since it is very central in Monastiraki area, close to Acropolis and souvenir shopping area. It is also located 3 minutes from the metro station that leads you to airport and Pireus Port as well. It is pretty old, ot would definetely need maintenance, but it has a nice view on Acropolis from the top... More

I just love this place. I have stayed at the Attalos Hotel several times over the years and this is my first review of it. From the moment you walk in the front door you are treated as a member of family, not just a paying guest. The hotel is not the smartest hotel in town, it is not the... More

Staying in Psirri / Gazi

Neighborhood Profile
Psirri / Gazi
Side-by-side neighborhoods Psirri and Gazi provide some of the city’s prime nightlife. The almost claustrophobic streets of Psirri feature an interesting blend of original small businesses with the restaurants, cafés and bars that have recently sprouted up. The central artery of Agion Anargiron Street has lively places to eat or drink. Further west, you can visit the peaceful ancient cemetery of Keramikos, then cross busy Pireos Street to find yourself in Gazi. With the huge Technopolis performance and art complex converted from old gasworks at its heart, you really have to come at night to appreciate this maze of bars at its best, although a daytime stroll will allow you to admire the excellent street art.
