I was wondering why it had so many stars/good reviews from Trip Advisor… The only good for this hotel is its location which is at walking distance to plaka and Acropolis museum. Other than that it is a nightmare. Breakfast? First come never served. Only one lady there (I trust due to economic crisis) that cannot handle the load and... More

The hotel is ok for the cost-benefit of it... a simple place, nothing special to say besides the breakfast that was really nice and the terrace on the top floor, that had a great view to the Acropolis. However, two things were very bad... we booked a room with two separate beds for me and my sister, and upon arrival,... More

We stayed 4 nights in this hotel at the end of July 2015. We had Acropolis view room and the view from our little balcony was breath taking, we enjoyed it so much.Room was simple and clean. We also loved roof-top terrace as it's just for hotel guests so it wasn't very busy, it was nice to spend late evenings... More

Just as title suggests .. Fantastic views of the Acropolis. We were lucky to have a view from our room and also a sweeping view over Athens. Only a short walk to the markets and eateries and also to the city tour buses. Room and bathroom were both tidy and comfortable. Staff were friendly and very accommodating. Highly recommend making... One would be hard pressed to find a more convenient location for visiting the old section of Athens. The hotel is just a short two blocks from the main road ringing the Acropolis, and just a few more blocks to the tourist haven of the Plaka district. The hotel is located on a quiet side street. The views from the... More

Fabulous location - literally five minutes walk from the Acropolis. Very reasonable price so the rooms aren't huge or glamorous but they are clean, with good showers and a fair breakfast. Lovely views from the rooftop. The staff are particularly friendly. As value for money in central Athens - this hotel is difficult to beat.

We have changed our booking and so what we got for the same price was a room twice as small as the room we originally stayed in and the shower was so small that to pick up the soap I had to get out of the shower to pick it up

This is a small but beautiful and well organised hotel at the buttom of the hill. Acropolis is about 5-10 mins walk distance, and also the town center is very close. You dont need to use the public transport to get to the center, Parlament. The breakfast was absolutely enough and tasty. We were totally satisfied with this hotel.

...and what a splendid view indeed. The roof top dining has the most spectacular view that anyone could ask for and dream sbout...what a view of The Parthenon high above on the Acropolis. We stayed in five fife rent hotels when we visited Athens in November 013 and June 2015, and this had the most spectacular view of all. The... More

Average good hotel for one night! Room is small and no view a bit noisy when customer coming in and out of their rooms, can hear people talk loudly! The air-conditioning is abit noisy but that's ok! Good location though. The top floor has great view to seat and relax.

Staying in Thissio / Makriyanni

Neighborhood Profile
Thissio / Makriyanni
Named after the well-preserved Thission (ancient temple of Hephaestus), Thissio is blessed with a small wooded park and some less frenetic streets that offer numerous quieter places to stay and eat. Largely pedestrianized Apostolou Pavlou Street runs between the Acropolis and forested Filopappou Hill, well worth climbing for more great panoramas, until it merges with Dionysiou Areopagitou Street. This leads to the up-and-coming area of Makriyanni, whose centerpiece is the magnificent new Acropolis Museum. Opposite the museum is the entrance to the southern slopes of the Acropolis, while the eponymous metro station nearby is at the top of Makriyanni Street, another strip of touristic cafés and restaurants.
