Before flying back home after my bike holiday I had the opportunity to stay at the Akropolis View Hotel. Fabulous location close to the Akropolis. Moreover as stated in the name of the hotel it offers a view on the Akropolis. Stunning especially in the evening. Friendly staff.

The hotel is at 10 minutes slow walk from the Acropolis entrance. There is a magnificent view of the Acropolis if you go on the top roof terrace. Good selection of food for the breakfast. The hotel is cleaned and the staff members are friendly and helpful. Good hotel at a reasonable price.

We stayed here for four nights bed and breakfast. What a little gem! The hotel is located very close to the Acropolis and the Plaka area of Athens, so very central. The staff on our arrival were friendly and helpful. The foyer and bar area was cosy and comfortable and had a nice atmosphere, not very busy during our stay.... More

Location is good but it is difficult to find at night. The front door is in ally. Centrally located. Great view of Acropolis if you go up to the roof top. Clean and breakfast very good and free. Walking distance to downtown Athens.

This is a smallish hotel with a very big advantage, the proximity to the Acropolis! The room we had was a triple room and it was quite cramped but it was very clean and had everything you needed including a fridge. There were no tea and coffee facilities in the room, so take your own if you like to have... More

You couldn't wish for a better location. A few minutes to the Acropolis and everything else is no more than a short hike. We didn't use any public transport, apart from an easy trip from the airport. Ask for an Acropolis view room, otherwise enjoy the view from the roof terrace. We had room 307, very pleasant and well serviced.... More

I stayed with with two of my friends. It was a 40 minute metro ride from the airport (€8 approx for adult tickets). We had to swap lines for one stop and got off at the Acropolis metro stop which was easy. A short walk uphill (I'm quite unfit and managed with a big backpack on my back) under 10... More

Like most, I booked this hotel primarily for its location in relation to the Acropolis, and in this area the hotel certainly didn't disappoint. The many sights of ancient Greek culture are very literally just around the corner from the property, which is a massive bonus considering the amount of walking you'll probably do once at the site! What took... More

We stayed here as a group of 3 friends. We started in Athens and stayed for 3 nights and two days. The hotel is a short walk from the metro station and was easy to find with some help from the locals! The room was very small, but it was perfect for us it was clean and we had a... More

Staying in Thissio / Makriyanni

Neighborhood Profile
Thissio / Makriyanni
Named after the well-preserved Thission (ancient temple of Hephaestus), Thissio is blessed with a small wooded park and some less frenetic streets that offer numerous quieter places to stay and eat. Largely pedestrianized Apostolou Pavlou Street runs between the Acropolis and forested Filopappou Hill, well worth climbing for more great panoramas, until it merges with Dionysiou Areopagitou Street. This leads to the up-and-coming area of Makriyanni, whose centerpiece is the magnificent new Acropolis Museum. Opposite the museum is the entrance to the southern slopes of the Acropolis, while the eponymous metro station nearby is at the top of Makriyanni Street, another strip of touristic cafés and restaurants.
