Great hotel with views of Acropolis from room. Staff excellent, so friendly and helpful, nothing too much trouble for them. 24 hour reception. Room small but adequate with own bathroom and fridge but no tea/coffee facilities although staff makes tea/coffee for you whenever required. Rooms very clean. Linen & towels changed daily Excellent position for The Acropolis and Athens Tour... More

This place is ideal for the budget minded looking for a 5 star location! It sits in the shadow of the Acropolis! From our patio we actually had a view of the Acropolis although the view from the roof patio is far superior! You are minutes from everything Athens has to offer! The neighborhood looks sketchy around the Acropolis but... More

The Acropolis View Hotel has a wonderful view of the Acropolis, which is best seen from the terrace. The hotel is conveniently located. The Acropolis is a must-see as is the magnificent museum adjacent to it. Most of the staff at the hotel are very pleasant, and indeed a night desk clerk helped us sort out our travel to Delphi.... The rooms are a bit old fashioned but very clean. The staff is very helpful, we booked online for a very cheap price and we managed to have the same price when we went back without reservation two days later. The rich breakfast is not amazing but the overall quality price ratio is more than decent

myself and my friends stayed at the hotel during a field class, upon arrival we were greeted by slightly grumpy staff who continued to get grumpier withus the longer we stayed, the rooms are quite basic and the lobby feels quite outdated. The location, however, is excellent. We were pondering why it was called the acropolis view as none of... More

The Acropolis View Hotel is situated in a calm & cosy neighbourhood right at the foot of the Acropolis.Needless to say that you only have a few minutes walk over to the Acropolis, so no need to rush through breakfast! This quaint yet cosy hotel is idealy situated near the plaka if you take the back touristic streets & the other... Only had one night here and I would quite happily return for another. For €40 for a single room I can't complain about anything - the room was functional and clean, the breakfast edible, and the staff friendly. It even lived up to its name in that if I stuck my head out the window and look to the right... More

The reason I chose this hotel because it is location!!!! It is 5-10mins by walking to Acropolis. My fly arrived Athens at 0500am, I spend a quit long time find this hotel because all street name is Greek, I asked 5 more local residents to find it. I am very luck to get early check it at 0800am and breakfast... More

The hotel is quietly located in a narrow residential street close to the drive approach to the Acropolis. This hotel is 2mins walking distance to the entrance of the Acropolis. Our hotel room was pleasant and included buffet breakfast for the Eu:70. The lady at the reception was very helpful and also suggested the cruise that we made reservations for... More

We stayed for five nights during late October. Note that if you stay 5 nights, the last night is free. It is a good budget hotel in a quiet residential area just outside of the busy Plaka area. Great view of the Acropolis from the rooftop terrace. Can walk to Acropolis Museum and the Metro station within 7 minutes. The... More

Staying in Thissio / Makriyanni

Neighborhood Profile
Thissio / Makriyanni
Named after the well-preserved Thission (ancient temple of Hephaestus), Thissio is blessed with a small wooded park and some less frenetic streets that offer numerous quieter places to stay and eat. Largely pedestrianized Apostolou Pavlou Street runs between the Acropolis and forested Filopappou Hill, well worth climbing for more great panoramas, until it merges with Dionysiou Areopagitou Street. This leads to the up-and-coming area of Makriyanni, whose centerpiece is the magnificent new Acropolis Museum. Opposite the museum is the entrance to the southern slopes of the Acropolis, while the eponymous metro station nearby is at the top of Makriyanni Street, another strip of touristic cafés and restaurants.
