We stayed at this hotel after the one we had originally chosen was overbooked. The rooms offer a generous amount of space and are clean and well-kept. The balconys are also a great bonus. However, the absolute highlight of this hotel is the view from the top floor bar/pool-area - you've got the whole of Athens + the Acropolis right... More

Nice hotel, pretty clean though a few noticeable stains on the sheets. Would rate the hotel higher except for the super dodgy street beside it which creeped me out a lot. Could hear a lot from the hallway also a downfall. The breakfast was good, the staff were very helpful. Location is not bad, 10-15 minute walk to the blue... More

I spent 3 nights at this hotel and although the AC didn't work well in the first room I got on the 11th floor (and the bathroom smelt a little... sewery), when we asked to change they were very understanding and offered us a bigger room on the 10th that was perfect. The swimming pool on the roof is very... More

I stayed there with my wife in July for a couple of nights. It is a nice place to stay in the centre of Athens. All sites within walking distance. Nothing was too much trouble. Easy to reach from the airport.

This is a lovely clean hotel in the centre of Athens. It is walking distance to all the main areas of Athens about 10 - 15 minutes - and only 2 minutes walk to the metro station. The pool on the 12th floor offers amazing views. The breakfast offers a huge and tasty variety. The staff were very friendly and... More

The hotel has excellent views of the panorama of Athens from its 12th. Floor bar, swimming pool and restaurant. Accommodation is fine, although the bathrooms are a little dated and basic in not having a wall mounted shower. Breakfasts are wide-ranging in variety of food on offer. The quality of food at the restaurant was really excellent and it was... More

Very Good Hotel for the price. Included breakfast has a great variety of cooked things, fruit , bread and sweets if you like them for breakfast. Wi Fi Di not work foot the entire 5 day stay, so not sure how it is when it works. Only seemed to work on the rooftop. Very close to train station as well... More

People make this hotel seem worse than it is...it is located in the middle of downtown, which is not the prettiest area of athens (still felt safe though) but it about a 5-10minute walk to the main square with different restaurants, bars and shops The breakfast was pretty good with different options. The rooms were clean, the only thing is... More

The Dorian Inn is a middle of the road hotel with nothing to really complain about. The bar / restaurant and swimming pool on the roof are a draw but the food choice was limited - possibly the restaurant / breakfast room on the 1st floor has more choice available. The aircon works well which is useful as being in... More

Check in went smooth but from there on I am very skeptical. Rooms are very average and the escalators are very small and at times we waited very long to get from the 10th floor. Wi-fi is non-existent in the rooms therefor the lobby is always full of people trying to connect. I left my bag at the front desk... More

Dear Tania E, We apologize for your unpleasant accommodation at Dorian Inn Hotel Athens. It displeases us to find out that you haven’t enjoyed your stay, all because of some minor imperfect hotel services. Regarding the elevators, the speed is reasonably fast, as we’ve recently changed the mechanism. It’s normal to have to wait a bit when the hotel is... More

Staying in Omonia

Neighborhood Profile
Omonia
Omonia Square is as plain in appearance as Syntagma is grand. Surrounded largely by functional blocks from the 1950s and 60s and no longer boasting its underground stalls, the square is now mostly frequented by immigrants and bargain shoppers. The most rewarding area to explore is to the south. Set off down Athinas Street, with the Acropolis gradually coming into focus in the distance, and you will get a sense of old commercial Athens, especially at the picturesque meat, fish and vegetable markets some way beyond the City Hall. The blocks to the west of Athinas are home to many Chinese and South Asian traders, adding a multicultural atmosphere to what was until the late 1990s a very homogenous society.
