My stay was average at best. The room was rather bare and uninviting, staff were minimalistic in their interaction. The best thing about it is probably the location. WIFI not available in the rooms, only in the breakfast area.

Great position near Monastiraki and in the streets where there are goods shop in the morning. It was an old hotel but very clean and we have found very comfortable beds. The rooms and bathrooms are little with air conditioner (very silent!). Athens is a very noisy city ( and all the hotels have little rooms and noisy streets!) but... More

The title says enough! We thought that this hotel would be a cheap but decent hotel near the main sights in Athens. It was definitely a low quality hotel, but we were okay dealing with our room's broken shower and early morning noise for the location and price. That was until we found bed bugs crawling around the bed and... More

We visited in May 2014 with a young child. The location was a bit of walk from the Metro but when we got our bearings it was a good location. The room was clean, staff good, free breakfast and internet. Only downfall was the smell of smoke embedded into the mattresses. There was also a noise factor - the street... More

Stayed here for a couple of days at the beginning and of a recent trip to Greece. Hotel was well situated: easy to get to/from airport, near Plaka, near Syntagma, near the Acropolis, near the markets etc. We were able to walk everywhere we wanted to go. Very nice breakfast: fresh fruit and yogurt, good coffee/juice. Hotel staff very friendly... More

We began our honeymoon in Athens, staying at the Hotel Cecil for three nights. A nice, clean basic hotel, with friendly staff and great value for money. Really good access to mainline tube stations and walking distance of good bars, restaurants and tourist attractions. We would definitely stay here again.

This hotel is in an excellent location being steps away from the metro. The room is by no means posh, in fact it was a bit tattered, but has cable TV and air conditioning. The shower is very outdated and you cannot flush toilet paper. A sign in the room tells you to dispose of it in the bin. Breakfast... More

Location: The hotel couldn't be in a better location. A 5 minute walk from the Acropolis area and a charming and ancient neighborhood filled with restaurants, live entertainment, etc. A block away from the Monastiraki metro stations, which makes getting to the hotel from the airport a breeze, and saves you about 50 euros in taxi fare. There's a train... More

My husband and I visited Athens summer 2013. The location is very good as it is near the metro station, Monastiraki (flea market) and it's along the main road. Basically you can even see Parthenon from there. We even walked from the hotel to Acropolis. But then again, we like to walk a lot. Just be sure to bring with... More

I would recommend this hotel. Its location is great--2 'blocks' from Monistiraki-- and the prices are extremely reasonable;40 Euros per night for a single room. My room was clean and comfortable for my one night stay. The view of the Acropolis from the roof is very nice. They also have tv in the rooms with channels in multiple languages. To... More
