Our cab driver said the neighbor was not safe. I'm sure he wanted more business. I did not feel unsafe at all. The rooms are plain but clean and comfortable. The rooftop bar and restaurant are terrific. View is not to be missed.

When you would enter this hotel 30 years ago it would probably blow your mind. Today its a poorly maintained hotel. The staff is not educated in hospitality. Every smile needs to be provoked. Reception staff speaks poor english. Our bill was presented on a piece of paper in handwriting. The one big plus about this hotel is the rooftop... More

Average rating is only due to location of the hotel which is quite convenient as for tourist. Room standard is below average as compared to the price which is above average. Breakfast is served in the restaurant which is not easy to find when you have a room not close to the elevator. There is a very nice restaurant on... More

Long weekend in Athens as solo traveller. On the plus side, the room was good value (c. €125 per night) - good size, with balcony view over to Acropolis and comfortable bed, though bathroom quite small. Equally staff were fine (one exception - see next para.), and good range on offer for breakfast. Also, it has a roof terrace where... More

We had a rushed last night in Athens at the Stanley but we were pretty impressed nonetheless and will stay here again the next time we're in Athens. A variety of small, well thought out touches help make the Stanley feel much more like a 4-star experience even though they claim to be a 3-star hotel. I think the only... More

The hotel is not overly far from the major sights. The bed was the most uncomfortable we experienced in all of Greece. The hotel is old and has very little appeal. The front desk and roof top restaurant service was lacking. The view was very nice from the roof top.

Stayed here for three nights on last leg of Greece trip. Hotel is in a good location for metro but beyond not much going for it! Desk staff was cordial and quick to answer any questions. Room 625 was located on street side and very noisy. Air condition leaked onto the carpet thus carpet was very soggy. Quite concerned there... More

Culture shock! After staying in Santorini and Mykonos, Athens was a staggering contrast. A city slipped into extreme stages of recession. The Stanley was good for the 2 nights is have to lay my head there. Hard, low to the floor beds. Balcony. Shower was an adventure in the tiny corner and a head on the end of a hose... More

Stayed here for 3 nights. A good location down town, you can walk to the Omonia Square, Acropolis Complex, Syntagma Square and other landmarks using G maps and don't care to get a cab. Walked to Gazi and took the metro on our way back at 1 in the morning but thankfully the subway is just about 50 meters from... More
