Location could not be better. Room was nice, and bathroom was very good, very large and above average for a european hotel. Breakfast was good.

The Hotel is centrally located in the heart of Athens.Everything you want to see is an easy walk away from the hotel. The Parliament Building and National Gardens are across the street, with the Temple of Zeus , Acropoli , Plaka , Thisio..... a few minutes walk. The room was good, clean and comfortable. The staff was very helpful.

The Amalia Hotel was very comfortable, served an excellent breakfast and is situated a block away from the x95 bus to the airport and 1 block from Syntagma metro station. Perfectly situated for sight seeing.

Really excellent position: 5 minutes walking from Syntagma Square (the Parliament Square) from where it is very easy to reach either the airport or the Piraeus Port. 20 minutes walking from the Acropolis, 15 minutes walking from the Plaka. Confort was good also, the room was large. The staff was very helpful: they upgraded our room from basic to executive... More

We stayed here for only 3 nights but I can not say anything bad for this hotel.Everything was perfect. The rooms and bathroom are big, clean and comfortable. The breakfast is very various. Definitely would go back again! But unfortunately I found Athens very boring and so I want go there again. Only if I had to for bussines reasons.... More

Very good central location with easy access to Plaka surroundings. Spacious and modern rooms, excellent general appearance. Nice lobby and excellent breakfast for European standards. I usually wouldn't pick this one since it costs a lot more than I usually like to pay in vacations. However it was the last part of our Honeymoon and we wanted to end up... More

We traveled extensively through Greece and stayed at wonderful hotels with friendly staff..always willing to help. We did not find this same feeling at the Amalia Hotel in Athens..This includes the desk staff and the breakfast waitstaff.(who were rude and unfriendly. Other than that..the hotel was OK.

The rooms and bathrooms are reasonably sized and comfortable, especially for Europe. Breakfast (included in our 119 Euro rate) is abundant and delicious, internet is reasonably priced at 5 Euros. I give this a 5 not because it has every amenity imaginable but because it's a great value for the money and most travelers should be very comfortable here.

Amalia Hotel is very close to Syntagma Square and in front of the National Gardens, and only few minutes from the subway and bus stops, the Acropolis, The Olympic Zeus Temple, restaurants, stores, and all the central neighborhoods. Although in a busy location, the rooms are not noisy. It is also a pleasant and safe location. The rooms and bathroom... More

Staying in Syntagma

Neighborhood Profile
Syntagma
Perhaps the best place to get your bearings is Syntagma Square, crowned by the imposing Parliament building on its upper side and surrounded by other large structures, such as the exclusive Hotel Grande Bretagne. The grand avenues that lead towards Omonia are also full of massive Neoclassical edifices like the Numismatic Museum and those around smaller Platia Kolokotroni. Here you will find lots of travel agents, bookshops and fashion shops, especially on Ermou Street. Just south of Syntagma Square, you can take a breather in the lush National Gardens, which extend into the grounds of the Zappeio palace and beyond to the ancient Temple of Olympian Zeus.
