Terrific stay. Everything was as it should be. Staff was professional and a pleasure to deal with. Easy check-in. Clean and comfortable rooms. Breakfast was great and check out immediate. Loved the location as you can walk to the Acropolis, museum, Plaka, National Gardens. Should have stayed here prior to leaving. Would definitely recommend.

My husband and I started our trip in Athens, Greece at Amalia Hotel. As we like to travel on foot, location is very important to us, and Amalia fit the bill perfectly. We were able to walk to the Acropolis, the Temple of Zeus, Hadrian's Gate, the National Botanical Gardens not to mention a slew of restaurants and shops. The... More

We spent 6 nights in Amalia Hotel, as a family of 4. The hotel is very well located, very close to the Parliament house (we had excellent view of some of the demonstrations following the Referendum of early July). Cleanliness and service are impeccable. The rooms are comfortable and well equipped. The buffet breakfast is well stocked with a special... More

This place is perfect for a short stay in Athens, being close to a metro station and bus stop for the airport. Provided all the comforts you would expect with a hotel, big selection of foods for breakfast, rooms were clean and modern. Plate of fruit on arrival was a nice addition.

My husband and I stayed here for 2 nights on our honeymoon. The hotel staff was welcoming and sent us a complimentary plate of fruit and a bottle of water. The room was clean, the bathroom was modern, and newly remodeled. You cannot beat the location!!!! Perfectly situated just steps away from watching the guard-changing ceremony (every 2 hours), close... More

this is the perfect central location to see Athens, we were there in the middle of the crisis and only 200 mtrs from the square so got extra entertainment for nothing. the hotel was perfectly located and also breakfast lovely to start on a busy day.

Perfect modern hotel in downtown Athens. Nice rooms viewing the parliament and gardens nearby. In 10 minutes walking you have Plaka and the Acropolis, including the new Museum. A good choice also if you need metro in town or connection to the airport.

Staying in Syntagma

Neighborhood Profile
Syntagma
Perhaps the best place to get your bearings is Syntagma Square, crowned by the imposing Parliament building on its upper side and surrounded by other large structures, such as the exclusive Hotel Grande Bretagne. The grand avenues that lead towards Omonia are also full of massive Neoclassical edifices like the Numismatic Museum and those around smaller Platia Kolokotroni. Here you will find lots of travel agents, bookshops and fashion shops, especially on Ermou Street. Just south of Syntagma Square, you can take a breather in the lush National Gardens, which extend into the grounds of the Zappeio palace and beyond to the ancient Temple of Olympian Zeus.
