i stayed at the amalia hotel on my arrival and departure from greece. english speakers, please make sure you enunciate when you tell them the name of tha hotel...as in pronounce every syllable. when i got back to athens from ios, the taxi driver thought i said the melia hotel (even though i spelled it out for him). anyway, the... Arrived drenched to the bone during a torrential downpour. Check-in was short and to the point so I could get into some dry clothes. Throughout my stay staff were delightful and very helpful. I had a room away from Amalias Avenue, therefore no view to speak of but more to the point no noise. The buffet breakfast is of the... More

I got upgraded to room 103; a 1st floor room with a front-facing balcony and a view of the Parliament building. Rooms are modern and well equipped and spacious. The lobby bar is a bit soulless and really just the place to meet and head somewhere else. There's a rooftop terrace, but it wasn't in use when I was there,... More

I think amalia hotel has a very good location in Athens. It's just opposite to syntagma square metro and very close to the airport bus! Very convenient! The room is clean, the buffet breakfast is good and we had free wifi though not very stable! If they offer water boiler inside room, that would be more perfect! More

Good breakfast, good room, modern and probably refurbished hotel, easy place to stay. Right near the Parliament. Easy to get to old city and main attractions. Near main shopping strip too. Staff helped us arrange bookings for restaurants and other activities. Nothing too much trouble. Take your camera onto the roof garden. Great views of Acropolis and all of Athens.... More

The Hotel Amalia was everything we were looking for in a Hotel. My husband and I stayed for only one night after coming back from Santorini, but the staff was very accommodating, and we could walk to everything we wanted to see (New Athens Museum, Acropolis, shopping district, Parliament). The hotel was decently priced, clean, and could see the Acropolis... More

We stayed in the Amalia for one night in early April on our return journey to Athens and were pleased with our choice. The hotel is centrally situated, adjacent to Syntagma Square and opposite the Parliament Building and National Gardens. It is about a 10-15 minute stroll through the Plaka to the Acropolis and New Acropolis Museum. We took the... More

This hotel is right in the heart of Athens, within walking distance to the Plaka district and the Acropolis as well as Syntagma Square. There is free internet service in the Lobby and coffee and biscuits (cookies) for early morning risers. Connection to your own computor is 5 Euros per day.. Single rooms small so if you are a single... More

My wife and I stayed here as our third stop on our honeymoon for four nights in August 2011. The main positive for this hotel is its location, being right on Syntagma Square was great - close to the main shopping, walking distance to Plaka, the Acropolis, etc. provided you are able bodied and don't mind walking. The staff were... More

Loved Amalia, close to the Plaka and hop on hop off bus stop, rooms were comfortable but a little stuffy only and this was with the air conditioning on, had to open the balcony door as our arrival was just after the riots there was alot of police around so this seemed to keep the traffic down however in the...
