Perfectly located with walking distance from Parliament square and Plaka, tourist quoters. Fantastic breakfast with very attentive staff. You might wAnt to ask fir a room with a view though as for a week I had to look at another building's wall

Amalia Hotel has everything. Nice staff, excellent room service, super breakfast, central located, huge room, airport bus X-95 last stop in front of him and all that you need in order to get a perfect vacations in Athens. I would like to recommend it a 100 %. Just one point, remember to ask for a room all the way to... More

The hotel is centrally located. Next to tram station and metro station. It is just opposite to Parliament House and National Garden. It is also within walking distance to Temple of Olympian Zeus, old town Plaka and Acropolis. It is a very good choice for tourists. The hotel also offers rich breakfast with various choices of foods. One drawback is... More

We stayed here for 4 nights while visiting Athens. The location is incredible. It is right off of Syntagma Square, across from the Parliament and National Gardens. It is right around the corner from the direct bus to the airport and the metro. It is within walking distance to Ermou, Plaka, the Acropolis, etc. The included breakfast buffet is very... More

It's located at Syntagma Square with walking distance to subway, parliament, Acropolis and Plaka with lots of places to eat nearby. The hotel is very comfortable, fully renovated few years ago. Rooms are spacious and breakfast is delicious. The staff makes you feel welcomed with complementary fruit and water awaiting for you in the room. Having stayed in other hotels... More

Nothing bad to say. The location is amazing. 1 block from Syntagma Squ. 5 - 10 minute walk to the Plaka and Acropolis. I was there 8 days and only took 1 cab. The Wi-Fi could have been a little faster, but it was free, so I'm not complaining. The breakfast (included with the room) was excellent, with lots of... More

Amalia Hotel is located right in the centre of Athens, adjacent to Syntagma square and opposite the National Garden. Having stayed in other major hotels located at Syntagma Square, I can confirm that Amalia Hotel has nothing to envy from its five star counterparties, providing at the same time, very reasonable prices. I have stayed in a superior room at... More

The location is the best for its so close to almost everything you want to go to in Athens. We got upgraded to a double room with extra bed for my 5 y/o boy, facing the Gardens but on the lower floor so we didn't get any sleep on our first night. We requested to be transferred to another room... More

Great location to visit Athens, at walking distance to historical center and next to metro hub, delicious breakfast, ask for a romm at the back to avoid the noise of Amalia Avenue, wifi connexion very bad (had to re-connect every minute).

Staying in Syntagma

Neighborhood Profile
Syntagma
Perhaps the best place to get your bearings is Syntagma Square, crowned by the imposing Parliament building on its upper side and surrounded by other large structures, such as the exclusive Hotel Grande Bretagne. The grand avenues that lead towards Omonia are also full of massive Neoclassical edifices like the Numismatic Museum and those around smaller Platia Kolokotroni. Here you will find lots of travel agents, bookshops and fashion shops, especially on Ermou Street. Just south of Syntagma Square, you can take a breather in the lush National Gardens, which extend into the grounds of the Zappeio palace and beyond to the ancient Temple of Olympian Zeus.
