The location of the Divani Palace Acropolis is perfect - very centrally located to the Acropolis site, the Acropolis Museum, Plaka, and the Temple of Zeus. It is a short walk around to many of the other ancient sites. In addition it is located in a quiet residential area which made it peaceful and quiet, particularly of a night time.... More

The hotel,is a little old, but very clean and very centrally located. The staff is great. There is a roof top bar as well as one indoors. Good value for the money. There is actually an archaeolgical site under the hotel that is viewable.

Such a welcome change after travelling and staying in airbnb. Staff friendly and helpful , rooms big and comfortable plus the roof top restaurant was sensational . Bathroom had a bath and with big white fluffy towels . Room was quiet and dark allowing us to sleep in

Really nice area. It's close to everything. Blocks from Acropolis museum. Food is awesome. Breakfast is beyond words!!!!!! I will stay here again for sure. Just a note: bring your own washcloth. There aren't any in the room.

The hotel was in a good location. Easy walk to restaurants, Acropolis and New Museum. Near the Plaka neighborhood. Staff was helpful in suggesting restaurants. Ask for a room with a terrace view of the Acropolis.

Athens was our first stop in our Greek journey. The Divani was in walking distance to the Plaka, had WONDERFUL staff, we could view the accropolis from our large balcony, had nice pool with good drinks, and within walking distance from awesome bakery and great coffee stop. Drip coffee shop is a great place to get your day going, and... More

This hotel doesnt have great views and is tucked into one back alley. But makes up for star quality and friendly staff. When we stayed, the A/C wasnt working properly in the room and some sort of alarm kept going off out in the corridor. The lobby tends to be crowded in the morning and evening when the tourist buses... More

A great hotel with all the modern amenities. If you are looking for an up-to-date hotel then look no further. Large conference hotel. Located near all sites to see in Athens. Somewhat pricey but you get what you paid for.

This is going to sound finicky but it's such a minor thing that's so crucial - the pillows in this place were at that point where without being folded over they basically folded to a crevice around your head. They were years past their turf-by-date. Like I said, it sounds finicky and precious but if you're going to call yourself... More

The hotel is ideally located in central Athens and convenient to the Acropolis and other attractions. The hotel itself and decor are nice but nothing special. The room was good sized and clean. The beds were comfortable. There was free WiFi in the room that was sometimes fast (you can pay for a faster connection). Coffee/Tea-making supplies were included in... More

Staying in Thissio / Makriyanni

Neighborhood Profile
Thissio / Makriyanni
Named after the well-preserved Thission (ancient temple of Hephaestus), Thissio is blessed with a small wooded park and some less frenetic streets that offer numerous quieter places to stay and eat. Largely pedestrianized Apostolou Pavlou Street runs between the Acropolis and forested Filopappou Hill, well worth climbing for more great panoramas, until it merges with Dionysiou Areopagitou Street. This leads to the up-and-coming area of Makriyanni, whose centerpiece is the magnificent new Acropolis Museum. Opposite the museum is the entrance to the southern slopes of the Acropolis, while the eponymous metro station nearby is at the top of Makriyanni Street, another strip of touristic cafés and restaurants.
