The location is amazing. It's a stone's throw away from major attractions such as the Acropolis Museum. Quite close to a metro station, too. The room was big and comfortable although our room was right across other rooms so no view at all! Very basic bathroom toiletries. The breakfast was wonderful, a very wide range of everything. The service was... More

The hotel offered a good rate for family room. The room is quite large especially the bathroom. The lobby is very nice. However, it seemed to a bit old. The location is in the middle of the old towns to the south of Acropolis. Several historical sites are in walking distance as well as restaurants and supermarket. There are also... More

This hotel is a 5min walk to Parthenon. There are several restaurants and convenience stores nearby. The rooms are spacious, the staff pleasant and the meals delicious. The hotel even has its own ruins in the basement.

We got the upgrade from Acropolis Select hotel as due to their system fault and upgrade us to this hotel. But this is even a better hotel. We are not sure about the price but for sure this is 5 star hotel range. Location: just walking uphill will reach acropolis area, very near to the main sight seeing, near to... More

If you are looking for a very nice hotel with all the amenities and steps away from the Acropolis and the metro station, look no further. It offers free wifi. The rooms are comfortable and clean. The breakfast was very good.

Stayed here at the beginning and end of our honeymoon. Rooms were not amazing, but the location was great. Truly at the foot of the Acropolis, and next to the museum. In easy and safe walking distance to several great neighborhoods and Athens' highest regarded restaurants.

Staying in Thissio / Makriyanni

Neighborhood Profile
Thissio / Makriyanni
Named after the well-preserved Thission (ancient temple of Hephaestus), Thissio is blessed with a small wooded park and some less frenetic streets that offer numerous quieter places to stay and eat. Largely pedestrianized Apostolou Pavlou Street runs between the Acropolis and forested Filopappou Hill, well worth climbing for more great panoramas, until it merges with Dionysiou Areopagitou Street. This leads to the up-and-coming area of Makriyanni, whose centerpiece is the magnificent new Acropolis Museum. Opposite the museum is the entrance to the southern slopes of the Acropolis, while the eponymous metro station nearby is at the top of Makriyanni Street, another strip of touristic cafés and restaurants.
