The location of the property is ideal to walk to the museum and to the Acropolis site. The hotel is very pleasant and friendly staff who do speak English. There is a grocery store just down the street from the hotel. Prices are high for the food and drinks, eating outside is a better bet.

Comfortable hotel in a very convenient location. Walking distance to the fabulous Acropolis museum, the Acropolis & lots of restaurants. We had dinner the first night at the roof top restaurant with its fabulous view of the Acropolis. Very nice meal & service. Reception staff very helpfull. Only downside is that the rooms are rather noisy. Can easily hear voices... More

Part of a hotel chain, so efficient if impersonal service. Buffet breakfast adequate, rooms small but clean and well serviced. Good location for walking around the centre and the Acropolis is just across the way.

Beautiful view and very accommodating staff! My husband lost his wallet with a large portion of our vacation money in it, and the staff located it for him! This hotel was included in our Trafalgar tour. Breakfast was good with many choices and friendly waitstaff. It is within walking distance of the cafe's and museums.

We went to Athens for our wedding anniversary. I had read some reviews before we went and was a bit apprehensive. Before we went we contacted the hotel about how to transfer from airport to hotel they were so very helpful and arranged a taxi for us. Our flight was early but our driver was waiting for us. On arrival... More

We stayed here as part of a tour. Clean and despite spring break, the rooms were pretty quiet. The breakfast had many, many, choices. And of course the location was ideal. We had a very early flight out and they provided us with a box breakfast. Very much appreciated. The staff were friendly and accommodating.

The Divani is the best place to stay if you are walking and want to be close to the acropolis and plaka. Our room was newly done and the staff was so friendly. Breakfast is great and offers anything you would like to eat. I found the hotel to be clean, new, and convenient.

This hotel is nice. Nothing spectacular and nothing awful. Room was clean and comfortable with all the standard amenities. I had a good view of the Parthenon from my balcony along with good WIFI. The staff was friendly and courteous. The included breakfast was excellent but repetitive. It's within walking distance to the Parthenon and the Platka area. There are... More

Stayed here in April 2015. The hotel is situated right among all the significant Athens points of interest. We were out and about each day and in just a few moments we were at the base of the Acropolis, Hadrians Arch, Plaka, Parliament House (where the soldiers wear their fancy pompoms) etc. The hotel is very comfortable with very responsive... Divani Acropolis is by far the best hotel in Athens. From stunning views of the Acropolis to easy access to all sites seeing places in Athens. The staff are very friendly and helpful. The breakfast is really good and their roof top restaurant has some amazing food. I loved this hotel and I will surely come back in the future.... More

Staying in Thissio / Makriyanni

Neighborhood Profile
Thissio / Makriyanni
Named after the well-preserved Thission (ancient temple of Hephaestus), Thissio is blessed with a small wooded park and some less frenetic streets that offer numerous quieter places to stay and eat. Largely pedestrianized Apostolou Pavlou Street runs between the Acropolis and forested Filopappou Hill, well worth climbing for more great panoramas, until it merges with Dionysiou Areopagitou Street. This leads to the up-and-coming area of Makriyanni, whose centerpiece is the magnificent new Acropolis Museum. Opposite the museum is the entrance to the southern slopes of the Acropolis, while the eponymous metro station nearby is at the top of Makriyanni Street, another strip of touristic cafés and restaurants.
