I took my first trip to Greece and The Achilleas Hotel was the place I came to first. The booking was made very last minute, after having changed hotels pre-arrival based on proximity to the center of Athens. The staff was accommodating and the rooms reasonably priced. Syntagma is a great place to be in, located with easy walks to... More

The location is just below the main square, Syntagma. It is also walking distance to Acropolis. There is free WiFi and the breakfast has a good selection to suit every taste. The down sides are: the rooms are spacious but with only one radiator, so it was cold around the New Year. The air conditioner didn't heat, so that didn't... More

The hotel is in the centre of Athens. The hotel is clean and the room is spacious enough. The bathroom is small but sufficient. Sometimes a bit noise from inside or outside. Breakfast is greek with enough choice. Staff is friendly but housekeeping unfortunately unreliable. I left accidentally two skirts hanging in the closet; mailed the hotel already from the... More

The location was great, the room was extremely spacious close to plenty of shops and great restaurants as well as the Acropolis however even in the winter the room was at 28 degrees Celsius. Very warm, to the point of extremely stuffy and uncomfortable to sleep. We advised the front desk and they advised heater would turn off at 11:00... More

Stayed here for 10 nights in September, Bed and Breakfast. There were no double rooms available when we arrived (at 9.30 pm) so we had to go in a family room, but only for one night, as the family room was required for a family the following night. This meant our clothes was kept in our suitcases for an extra... More

The location of this hotel is excellent, very close to Syntagma square and Ermou street, both of which offer good cafes, bars and shops. I was very surprised by how much there is to see and do in Athens, it's an excellent place. The hotel is very central. The hotel is clean and modern. The staff were pleasant the breakfast... More

We stayed in this hotel 2 weeks ago and it was great for what we wanted. Just around the corner from Sygtama Square and within 5 min walk to Plaka Square & shopping etc. The hotel is located down a side street with a couple of cafe/restaurants across the road. It is a basic hotel with helpful staff in a... More

We stayed here for four night and found this to be a really good hotel- especially for the price! The rooms are simple but very comfortable. Hot water, quiet, and close to everything! The buffet breakfast in the morning is really good. It is easy to access all of the sites of Athens on foot, and it's close to really... More

nice hotel for those who do not stay most of the time at the hotel. Hotel is located at Syntagma square very close to almost all Athens attractions. Syntagma, Acropolic, Monastiraki etc are within walking distance. Two minutes walk and you are at Ermou street, the famouse shopping street of Athens. For those who want to explore ATHENS by tram,... Staying in Syntagma

Neighborhood Profile
Syntagma
Perhaps the best place to get your bearings is Syntagma Square, crowned by the imposing Parliament building on its upper side and surrounded by other large structures, such as the exclusive Hotel Grande Bretagne. The grand avenues that lead towards Omonia are also full of massive Neoclassical edifices like the Numismatic Museum and those around smaller Platia Kolokotroni. Here you will find lots of travel agents, bookshops and fashion shops, especially on Ermou Street. Just south of Syntagma Square, you can take a breather in the lush National Gardens, which extend into the grounds of the Zappeio palace and beyond to the ancient Temple of Olympian Zeus.
