Booked 3 rooms for 2 nights pre cruise - asked for some specific things not really expecting to get them and everything turned up as we had asked for. Excellent location, friendly helpful staff and a great breakfast/location. Had dinner one evening and a cocktail out on the terrace with a lovely view of the Acropolis. Food was fine. We... More

Located not far from the parliament in a pedestrian street you have access to the tube easily and the tube is the best well to go to the museum and acropolis during the day. The room are comfortable and the service is nice. Nice restaurant also on the roof.

We had a wonderful two night stay in two superior balcony rooms for our family of four. The pool was lovely and the view fabulous of the Acropolis. The staff was helpful and we enjoyed the buffet breakfast in the garden very much. We would definitely stay here again!

We thought the Electra Palace was on the pricey side and the view from our room looked directly onto a private (and dirty) unit block. However the quality service at this hotel was excellent and the breakfast was actually the best I had eaten in any hotel on our 3 week vacation through Europe. Concierge minded our bags for free... This hotel offers great location and good service. We stayed few nights and truly enjoyed being so near all the main attractions. Breakfast is exceptionally good, especially in the garden, and the rooftop offers an amazing view. The hotel swimming pool is great to look at because (located on the rooftop) but unfortunately it is a small pool with very... More

The staff was so kind, they even ordered a cab for me for 3:30AM pick-up. THe hotel is beautiful and in the heart of Plaka, a short walk tot he Acropolis. Highly recommend staying here. The staff also gave us a great (non-touristy) dinner recommendation. We had three to our room and had enough space.

Good, but not value for money. Expected a better breakfast. Don't use the laundry, cost an absolute fortune. Well placed in the Plaka. Great location. The staff are very helpful. The pool and views from the roof top are amazing.

I had always wanted to stay at this hotel and it lived up to my expectations. Located in the heart of the Plaka, it is a stone's throw from Adrianou Street where there is good souvenir shopping. My room was small but well appointed. Korres amenities are the best! The staff was much friendlier than other Athens hotels I have... More

We spent 2 nights in electra and it's right down in old athens which is nice as the shopping and restaurants are walking distance. The hotel is clean and service is good but we asked for a room with one bed for my wife and myself and we got a room with two single beds on wheels shoved together. We... More

The Hotel itself was great. The room was clean and the staff were friendly The grounds were lovely. .Even in a busy crammed city there was lawn and plants and outdoor seating. It was a lovely spot to relax. The top floor Restaurant was great. The only downside was the breakfast.... More

Staying in Plaka

Neighborhood Profile
Plaka
Due to its proximity to the Acropolis, Plaka remains the area where the majority of foreign visitors stay and play. Its attractive features include small squares, some notable museums and the beautiful Mitropolis cathedral, as well as a host of places to stay, eat and drink. Its pedestrian zones make it a pleasant place to escape from the city’s notorious traffic. Adrianou and Kidathineon Streets contain a number of souvenir shops, offering classier items than you will find in the Flea Market. The most rewarding section to explore is the upper reaches towards the Acropolis itself, where many old stone houses with tiled roofs have survived. Up here you can find leafier corners and the odd quaint taverna with unobstructed views of the ancient rock.
