This small elegant hotel is simply perfection. If your idea of perfection is lying on a comfortable bed and gazing out the the large window at the Acropolis seemingly lit for your personal delectation. The ample and excellent free breakfast--no Northern European austerity here can be eaten in the garden near the pomegranate trees and birds. Or inside if you... More

I stayed one night here before getting my flight. My room was tiny, cramped, had a terrible view and smelled slightly of drains. That said it had everything necessary but was hugely overpriced for what I received. Won't be staying here again.

Great hotel in great location with very comfortable beds. Nice breakfast good service. We are five and they gave us rooms 221 & 222 with its own foyer entrance for ezy access between the two rooms. Will defiantly be back. This Hotel is a gem worth trying.

Beautiful hotel, very clean, satisfactory breakfast. Our room had Acropolis view only from the balcony, you needed to go outside to see. Service was also satisfactory. Since it was our first wedding night there, I wish personel was more handy and sensitive to the case. Also, it was a bit noisy since hotel visitors where leaving very early and the... More

We booked this hotel for one night on our way to Santorini and for two nights on our return. We came in late the first time and left early so we weren't too fussed about anything. The room was ok and the bed comfortable and that's all we needed. On our return, we were disappointed. Again, the room was ok-... More

Conveniently located on a quiet street in the Plaka, we loved this hotel. The service and accommodations were fabulous, even a small rooftop pool with bar and restaurant all with a view of the Acropolis. A great breakfast buffet added to the terrific value. Our stay in Athens was made just perfect by staying here.

We just had two good nights at the Electra Palace in Athens, in July 2015. The hotel is in a great location if you are in town to see the Acropolis, museum, etc. These are a 10 min walk from the hotel. Lots of great tavernas and restaurants in the area, as well as many other sites. We liked the... More

This Hotel is centrally located close to Syntagma, Plaka and the shopping centers, with Nice balcony and roof top view to Acropolis. Bell boys are fast and friendly. The rooms are small. The pool area has sloppy staff, not very helpful or friendly and lazy Towel service!!! We left the Hotel early 6:15 and was promised a easy breakfast, what... More

This is the best hotel I have ever stayed in. It was easy to find but I would not recommend coming in car as the street are only big enough for 1 car and the roads are very bad. Location - Middle of Athens perfect placement just a minute walk to the main shopping strip and the Syntagma Square so... More

I was staying at the Electra near the Plaka and could not believe how close to everything such as the Plaka ,Monastriki square and the ruins of Athens. The amenities were out of this world such as the breakfast buffet, the rooftop pool facing the Acropolis- service at the hotel was great and also the room was great too.

Staying in Plaka

Neighborhood Profile
Plaka
Due to its proximity to the Acropolis, Plaka remains the area where the majority of foreign visitors stay and play. Its attractive features include small squares, some notable museums and the beautiful Mitropolis cathedral, as well as a host of places to stay, eat and drink. Its pedestrian zones make it a pleasant place to escape from the city’s notorious traffic. Adrianou and Kidathineon Streets contain a number of souvenir shops, offering classier items than you will find in the Flea Market. The most rewarding section to explore is the upper reaches towards the Acropolis itself, where many old stone houses with tiled roofs have survived. Up here you can find leafier corners and the odd quaint taverna with unobstructed views of the ancient rock.
