The hotel is ideally located to visit the Acropolis and the museum which are almost around the corner. Also Plaka is not far away. But the best was the staff (and in particular Elias) who were very friendly and helpful. We booked the rooms through an online site, but they had not paid for our room upon our arrival (though... Perfect for visiting Acropolis (hiking shoes, a hat & sunscreen are musts!) for 12€, unless, like me, you are an over-65 EU citizen, in which case, flash your passport at the ticket seller, and you'll pay only half. Half-price also at the New Acropolis Museum. In case your knees are not up for the Acropolis challenge, or if it's already... More

We arrived early in the morning before usual check in. We needed some sleep before a long tour scheduled for the early afternoon. The hotel was able to give us another room to rest up and even some extra time at check out. Location is great and the hotel is very clean.

As mentioned by many reviewers, this hotel is in an excellent location, right next to the Museum, and the Acropolis. The Plaka area is a short walk, and it's a very pleasant area. The hotel was clean, and the staff was friendly and helpful. We had a double and a triple room for our family of 5 and I will... More

Dear eap111 Thank you for your promise of returning. Your comments make us very proud of our elegant small, good-valued hotel! I noted your feed back regarding the size of the rooms, yet I have to underline the fact that space is a very “rare and valuable” merit when situated so close to the Acropolis! More

The best thing about this hotel is the location. A block from the new Acropolis Museum and a short walk to the hill, Plaka, Metro, etc. At the same time, it is in a quieter residential area away from noisy bars and traffic. I found the staff to be quite pleasant. The best rooms are on 5th and 6th floors... More

We originally booked a family room and were provided two seperate rooms. The hotel is a fairly classical business style hotel set is a good location. The rooms were fairly small, with a comfortable bed, plently of hot water and good free wifi. The front desk was knowledgable and helpful. You can easlity walk to the Acropolis and the Plaka.... The location is really great - a block from the new acropolis museum, and walking distance to the Acropolis. However, the service was substandard. We arrived in the late afternoon and we had to wait 15-20 minutes for our room to be ready. Maybe the staff was new, but we had questions about the hotel's services that the front desk... More

Dear Nathan F Thank you for taking the time to feedback on your stay with us at the PHILIPPOS Hotel. It is true that you were asked to present your passport twice because the first time the photocopy failed, and we apologize for that; yet it strikes us as very odd the fact that you felt the need to comment... We spent our first night of our vacations in Greece in this hotel. When the agency proposed this place, we trusted the TA reviews which were rather positive. What a disappointment! We were supposed to have a triple room for us and our son and we ended up with a small room with two twin beds in which they added... More

Dear Schmeky S Thank you for trusting TA reviews as, in their huge majority, they do justice to PHILIPPOS Hotel. It is the first time in 38 years that a customer with two free upgrades in two different stays and free cocktails and appetizers and 5 star hospitality from all our staff is still so much disappointed...
