The location is really great - a block from the new acropolis museum, and walking distance to the Acropolis. However, the service was substandard. We arrived in the late afternoon and we had to wait 15-20 minutes for our room to be ready. Maybe the staff was new, but we had questions about the hotel's services that the front desk... More

We spent our first night of our vacations in Greece in this hotel. When the agency proposed this place, we trusted the TA reviews which were rather positive. What a disappointment! We were supposed to have a triple room for us and our son and we ended up with a small room with two twin beds in which they added... More

For our anniversary, we decided to visit Greece - Athens was our first stop. We booked this hotel because of it's location. We took the subway/train from the airport, swapped at one subway station and arrived at the Acropolis station within 45 min. There are 3-day and 7-day tourist special discounted subway tickets that you can buy at any subway... More

We stayed at Philippos Hotel before and after an island hopping tour and it was great. The staff was very friendly and accommodating, especially when we checked in early upon our arrival in Greece. The rooms are reasonable space-wise, clean and have a nice little balcony. On our second stay we got a room with a view of the Acropolis,... More

Rooms are small, but clean and adequate. Quiet for sleeping after a long flight. So close to the Metro, the Acropolis Museum and Plaka. Pop your head out the front door and the Acropolis can be seen at the end of the street! Staff all speak good English and very helpful with maps and directions

The hotel has a great location just a few blocks from the Acropolis Museum. You can see the Acropolis at night from some of the rooms. The sister hotel has a lovely rooftop terrace for dinner and a perfect view. If you can afford the sister hotel, it is worth it. The rooms were comfortable and clean. The staff was... More

This hotel is situated perfectly for getting to many of the major sights in Athens. Our room, on the 5th floor, had a view of the Acropolis. The Acropolis museum is a block away. The staff was helpful and pleasant. We asked them to recommend a dinner restaurant that had good moussaka. They first recommended the restaurant at their sister... More

Dear Alice B Your promise of return is for all of us the best compliment; when doing so do try the moussaka our chef cooks at HERODION, our sister property hotel, because it turns out to be as renowned as the one you tasted! We do take into account your proposal of shading the balcony yet summer weather is a... More

Staying at Philippos is like being a "family" guest rather than a hotell customer. I have said it before, and I say it again, Grek hospitality at its best. Excellent location, with Acropolis and Plaka, tre old Town within minuters to walk.

We stayed in this hotel in Athens for 3 nights at the end of a 2 week tour of Greece. First the good points. The hotel is located in a superb position close to the new Acropolis Museum and about 10 mins walk away from the entrance to the acropolis - so you could not want a better location. The... More

Dear Keith L Thank you for your feedback posted on TripAdvisor and I am sorry that your experience whilst at the hotel was far not as satisfactory as we are striving for. Thank you for your fairness, and following your example I admit that certain rooms are better than others; yet for the sake of honesty one has to admit... More

This hotel had a great staff, very friendly and had an awesome breakfast every morning. Wish they had a pool and hot tube but Athens... More
