Especially Hotel has a great location. You can go all central and sightseen centrals by walk. Metro is nearly 2 min by walk. Hotel is small but quality and price balance is good. Clean and cute... I offer this hotel for your Athens trip...

The location is the strongest point of this hotel. You can walk to visit the Acropolis, the Acropolis Museum and all the main attractions around it. Besides, it's located in a nice neighborhood, different from some hotels north of the acropolis. Staff was really friendly. Breakfast is average only. The bedroom was not huge, but for our purposes it was... More

Dear henrique100, To be highly recommended is the best proof that our efforts pay off! Every so often we add a little something so as to keep the ambiance fresh and attractive: authentic photographs in the rooms, new colourful cushions all around, music during breakfast, a white stripe on the cupboard door and going for more! PHILIPPOS is located in... More

Originally we had booked a room to its sister hotel "Herodion" but due to an unfortunate incident we were offered to move to "Philippos". More precisely in “Herodion” we were assigned a very noisy (due to refurbishment work on the floor above our room) and smoking room and this was coupled with the irresponsible behavior of the receptionist. Thus we... More

Our room was big with a big balcony, very clean and comfortable with an amazing view of the Acropolis. Philippos Hotel is located right next to the Acropolis and Museum and was very easy to get around with the bus, tram and metro subway and within walking distance. Excellent service from the staff especially from the receptionist(front desk) Efi and... More

The hotel is 5-7mins of walking distance from Acropolis metro station. You can reach the hotel by a metro from Airport. Just have to change metro once. The staff is helpful and breakfast has a decent and tasty spread. Rooms were small but had everything required. Most of the sightseeing is within a walking distance of the hotel.

The hotel's location is good and was within walking distance of shops & restaurants. The rooms are quite small with a little balcony (thank goodness for that!) and there were 2 single beds put together instead of a double bed (which made sleeping quite uncomfortable). Other than that, it was clean with friendly staff. Small but tasty breakfast selection. Not... More

Great location for this hotel very close to Acropoli Metro Station and a 15 minutes walk to Syntagma Square. Rooms are decent with small bathroom with all equipments. The street is very quiet and makes this hotel quiet at night. The breakfast is good with a decent selection. Staff are very friendly and efficient.

This was the first hotel I booked online in my life, so I was a little worried, but when we were received by the front desk person, the worries just disappeared. Staying in Thissio / Makriyanni

Neighborhood Profile
Thissio / Makriyanni
Named after the well-preserved Thission (ancient temple of Hephaestus), Thissio is blessed with a small wooded park and some less frenetic streets that offer numerous quieter places to stay and eat. Largely pedestrianized Apostolou Pavlou Street runs between the Acropolis and forested Filopappou Hill, well worth climbing for more great panoramas, until it merges with Dionysiou Areopagitou Street. This leads to the up-and-coming area of Makriyanni, whose centerpiece is the magnificent new Acropolis Museum. Opposite the museum is the entrance to the southern slopes of the Acropolis, while the eponymous metro station nearby is at the top of Makriyanni Street, another strip of touristic cafés and restaurants.
