You don't always get what you pay for. We stayed here for three nights, assessing its suitability for an alumni group's stay in Athens, and were disappointed with what we found. First, though, the pros: 1. good location, within easy walking access of the Plaka, and a little removed from questionable Omonia Square. 2. quiet bedroom (at least where we... More

Hotel is situated in a central location close to major tourist attractions in Athens and within walking distance to retail shopping area. The lobby is vast and looks quite modern. Due to this you are in for a shock once you get off the elevator on your way to the room as the rest of the hotel is in dire... More

Good location, impressive entrance but the rooms are basic. A strange mix of business/ tourist hotel- the rooms were clean and the beds/ pillows very comfortable but only acceptable rather than anything greater. Breakfast was included on our stay, taken on the mezzanine floor and was plentiful and of a good standard. Unfortunately the roof restaurant with views of the... More

I stayed at Titania for recently for six nights. The hotel is in a great location, walking distance to everything. The rooms are a little dated, e.g. the outlets were not located near the bed, but they are spotlessly clean. The staff were friendly, helpful and efficient. The best feature of Titania is the breakfast buffet, which includes hot and... More

Good location, nice lobby, fresh linen on beds. Room & bathroom dated but functional. Apparently rooms were renovated recently, however when I asked about renovation I was informed the carpets in the rooms had been replaced with wooden floors and a mini bar was installed. Walls paper thin as neighbours can be heard talking. Elevators constantly bleep. Drilling from rooftop... More

Fortunately we only stayed here for 1 night, after a Cunard cruise. Hotel reception area is the highlight of the hotel, after that everything from the room, reception staff go down hill . Unwelcoming staff upon check in, no guidance on where to have breakfast until we asked - apparently you go to the Mezzanine floor. There is also a... More

The lobby looks amazing but do not be fooled. We stayed for 2 nights in this place and the rooms were super smelly and we found cockroaches (!) in the bathroom. There is no pool or gym and the breakfast was pretty decent. Definitely not recommended.

Stayed here one night before we boarded our cruise. Great room for the price. Free WiFi which is always great. It is very close to the train so we were able to go to the acropolis and had a wonderful time. The free breakfast was great too.

This modern hotel is aging but it is clean and the beds are comfortable. Room wi-fi is expensive, so the lobby is filled with people getting their email. We had a pork chop entree and a baked Greek spaghetti dish in the Brasserie off the lobby. Both were greasy and rather rancid, so we left after a few bites. Didn't... More

Staying in Omonia

Neighborhood Profile
Omonia
Omonia Square is as plain in appearance as Syntagma is grand. Surrounded largely by functional blocks from the 1950s and 60s and no longer boasting its underground stalls, the square is now mostly frequented by immigrants and bargain shoppers. The most rewarding area to explore is to the south. Set off down Athinas Street, with the Acropolis gradually coming into focus in the distance, and you will get a sense of old commercial Athens, especially at the picturesque meat, fish and vegetable markets some way beyond the City Hall. The blocks to the west of Athinas are home to many Chinese and South Asian traders, adding a multicultural atmosphere to what was until the late 1990s a very homogenous society.
