This is rated as a 4 star hotel, un believeable. It is shoddy, unkempt and the rooms and corridors are smell strongly of stale nicotine. The paintwork is peeling, ceilings are coming down in places and the bathrooms are absolutely tiny and frankly dirty. Avoid at all costs! The entrance lobby is acceptable and almost lulls you into a false... More

It was the first hotel we stayed in as a group on our trip. I expected a four star Hotel be more like the USA but I learn quickly that was probably more like a three star in the USA. in retrospect it was the best hotel we stayed in as far as the meals and accommodation. we had a... More

I recently stayed at this hotel in April for 3 nights. The hotel is in a great location in Athens. The entrance is beautiful and the staff is very professional and helpful to all of your needs. The room are very clean and a bit larger than most hotels that I've seen around Europe. The hotel was very busy during... More

We stayed my friend and I in the Titania hotel in January. The location of the hotel is great a minutes away from the shopping market and the hop on hop off stop. The hotel is ok for a short stay. Not more. Rooms are small and there is a strange smell around. The stuff is not that helpful so... More

The hotel had many good points- The rooms are clean and actually larger than most European hotels. The breakfast is excellent, unless there is a departing school trip with 100 teens getting breakfast at the same time ......only happened once but it was crowded. The rooftop bar and restaurant is beautiful with great food and an amazing view. Only negatives... More

The hotel is in a good location but is full of groups who are noisy and you have to queue for meals. The wi fi was expensive and although free in the lobby , not many places to sit to check your emails. The staff never seemed to know what was happening and on our last day we had no... More

Titania was a nice surprise. The hotel is refurbished and looks ok. The service was more friendly than exppected in these troubled times for Greece.A bit crowded for breakfast, but the food was fine. Close to Plaka and Acropolis it offers the opportunity of a nice walk. Don't be afraid of the "bunker like" metal doors and window covers. They... More

Still can't understand why they are claiming to be 4* hotel. Wouldn't give more than 2*. Old fashioned smelly room, tiny bathroom, scratched walls, very expensive wifi access and tasteless breakfast. The only good thing is location. Won't be staying again.

This was far from a luxury experience but I didn't exactly pay luxury prices. The good: comfy bed, OK breakfast, nice reception, room service. The bad: expensive in-room wifi; clumsy bathroom layout and lots of corridor noise/noise from adjacent rooms. The ugly: the loud elevator music in all public areas was really intrusive and drove me crazy! Not four star... More

The travel agency booked this as a pre cruise 2 night stop over.On the positive side there is a very nice roof top restaurant with a view of the Acropolis.Breakfast was included and was good with lots of choices.I caught the "Hop on" bus and the University 2 blocks away. When I first checked in I was put in a dark... Staying in Omonia

Neighborhood Profile
Omonia
Omonia Square is as plain in appearance as Syntagma is grand. Surrounded largely by functional blocks from the 1950s and 60s and no longer boasting its underground stalls, the square is now mostly frequented by immigrants and bargain shoppers. The most rewarding area to explore is to the south. Set off down Athinas Street, with the Acropolis gradually coming into focus in the distance, and you will get a sense of old commercial Athens, especially at the picturesque meat, fish and vegetable markets some way beyond the City Hall. The blocks to the west of Athinas are home to many Chinese and South Asian traders, adding a multicultural atmosphere to what was until the late 1990s a very homogenous society.
