This may upset a few people, but it’s true: Like much of Athens, the Titania Hotel was once beautiful, but now really needs some renovation. It’s been neglected for too long. First, the good points. The hotel is in a great location. It has a wonderful staff, and nice amenities. Big towels, even. The rooftop restaurant has views that any... More

We were a group of 60 people half of them children an a school trip.It was the best choice we could have made.It is right on the heart of Athens,a 15 min walk from Syntagma square, the National Archaeological Museum and the center of the city.If you're not much of a walker the metro is just 5 min away. The hotel has... We were a group of almost 30 people and stayed here for a week. It is a very well situated hotel, the staff was nice and the rooms were cleaned every day. The food was always fresh and very tasty. The only inconvenient was that you had to pay for Wi-Fi in the rooms, you had it for free only... More

We stayed here for 3 nights. It is a old hotel with old furniture. The rooms were not clean . service was not good. Breakfast was very good, delicious and varied. Location is good. Metro is near to the hotel.

I have rather mixed feelings about my stay at this hotel in December 2015. The hotel is very well situated and within walking distance of many tourist sites. At night there is a charming view of the lit up Acropolis from the roof top bar. On arrival the hotel is quite impressive with a broad open reception lit up in... More

Very good location, near to everything you would want to do in athens. The taxi and bus stop right outside the hotel. Food and supermarket are nearby. Biggest breakfast buffet I have ever seen, very tasty. Friendly staff, clean room and reasonably quiet.

I stayed here for 6 nights at a really outdated room, with old fashioned furniture and a bad smell in the room and the bathroom. The latter was spacious but there were many broken tiles and moisture dominated the air in there. Breakfast was good with a variety of food to choose from whereas dinner was not tasty at all!... Nice proximity to shopping. It was a conference event. Amazing fresh breakfast and lovely friendly professional staff. But rooms were old. Not up to date old tv style. A bath needs good renovation. No bidet. Loved the food in the lobby. However Olive Garden was closed.

Walking in, the hotel looks great. But that's about it. Everything else is very old and worn out, in depressing shades of brown. The corridors smell like an old woman (the choice of "heavy perfume scented" air fresheners is not a good idea). The rooms are small and dark (we were on the 4th floor). There was a big group... Hi, This is probably the third or fourth time I've been staying in this hotel. Our partner in Athens is always booking this place when coming on business trip. The rooms are not very well insulated so you hear all the noise. There were huge groups of school kids who were really disturbing. The place should be completely refurbished. Breakfast... More

Staying in Omonia

Neighborhood Profile
Omonia
Omonia Square is as plain in appearance as Syntagma is grand. Surrounded largely by functional blocks from the 1950s and 60s and no longer boasting its underground stalls, the square is now mostly frequented by immigrants and bargain shoppers. The most rewarding area to explore is to the south. Set off down Athinas Street, with the Acropolis gradually coming into focus in the distance, and you will get a sense of old commercial Athens, especially at the picturesque meat, fish and vegetable markets some way beyond the City Hall. The blocks to the west of Athinas are home to many Chinese and South Asian traders, adding a multicultural atmosphere to what was until the late 1990s a very homogenous society.
