I knew it was an omen as soon as I was given the keys to room 911. Overall our stay at the Electra was okay and I would recommend it to business travellers or those just staying overnight. However, if you are planning a longer stay, I recommend you find another hotel with more facilities. My main complaint about this... more

We stayed at the Electra Hotel in late May. The hotel is centrally located and close to all amenities (including short walk to 3 euro bus to and from airport), attractions and shopping, yet the location is quiet because the hotel fronts a pedestrian-only square. If you are booking here, make sure that you are given a non-smoking room (if... more

Stayed one night before leaving Athens and wanted somewhere quiet but close to Syntagma square to take the bus for the airport. The position was ideal. We were a bit surprised at how close it was to the hussle and bustle at the top of Ermou St. in the day time and thought we had made a mistake in booking.... more

It is located in the square of the Parliament and in one of the most commercial areas. Walking distance to Plaka and touristic attractions. Subway is 7 min walking. There´s free WIFI in the square (I saw people with their laptops in the square). Breakfast is very good. There´s a machine making fresh orange juice all the time for free... more

I've travelled to Greece every year since I was 8. This was the first trip to Greece with my fiance and I hoped to show him the great city of Athens. I remembered that this hotel was centrally located on Ermou Street, famous for its shopping and cafes during the day. We could walk to most of the historical attractions,... more

Stayed there for three nights. Its perfect position allow us to make a lot of shopping walks during the day with the ability to transfer things easily to hotel for storage. The staff was all the times of the day very friendly and ready to answer all our questions, and solve all our issues. Basic restaurant food, with clean rooms... more

Stayed one night here. It was clean, courteous staff, all facilities you'd want for the prices. I had a single room facing the rear which was fine for my needs. Room decor was dated though. Good restaurant food but no views to outside. Fag smoke drifts up from the lobby below despite non-smoking seating areas. Hotel is off a pedestrian... more

This hotel has an ideal location (walking distance to Plaka, Acropolis, Syntagma, parks, subway, etc.). Rooms were cramped (main room and restroom) and not terribly clean.. Common areas (e.g., hallways, etc.) seemed to be better kept. Hotel staff were courteous, but not at all knowledgeable about nearby bars, restaurants, etc. Had to rely on coworker who lives in Athens for... more

The Electra is at the top of Ermou Street, a 1 min walk from Syntagma Square and a 3 min walk from the heart of the Plaka. Of greatest importance, there is a Zara store a few doors from the hotel. Ermou Street is the main shopping street in Athens, so there are lots of great shops for you to... more

the hotel is at the center of the Plaka, so NO need for cabs, save your money by walking 1 minute & there you are @ the center, shopping, dining, enjoying Athens. the staff is very very friendly & polite. the rooms face the historical magnificent Acropolis, so what better than waking up with such a view! the morning buffet... more
