We had intended to book the Electra Palace, but somehow we managed to book the Electra instead. However, it was fine; and in terms of location, possibly even better. We received a very friendly reception, and the lady there recommended and booked a restaurant for us, as it was the Greek Easter and most places were closed. Breakfast was quite... More

Four-star hotel right at the heart of Athens, opposite the Syntagma Square. The single room I had was very small with a single bed (compared to other hotels where they put you on a double bed even if you have a single) but the toiletries were quite luxurious and it was clean. I should not complain at all however as... More

This is a nice old school European hotel with a great location. The staff is very attentive and the place is very clean. Downtown Athens is very busy late into the night, especially around Constitution Square, so you will hear noise until the wee hours anywhere you stay in central Athens. You can walk almost anywhere from here. Acropolis, Temple... More

This kind of services I definitely love in every hotels for an average price.. Maybe only for few months , howlong the refurbishment looks good! I appreciated the good qualities of carpets, lining and amenities (Korres), also the coffe and tea maker in the room. The Wi-Fi doesn't work every time in the room, and the glass wall on the... The best quality of this hotel is its central location, next to Syntagma Square. Close to everything Acropolis, Plaka, Kolonaki, etc. The room was small but very clean, the mattress very soft and the breakfast could be better.

Stayed here 2 nights with friends on a hen do. It was a special occasion and more than 2 of us sharing so we splashed and could afford the price. Very conveniently located if you're visiting Athens for the first time. Didn't get to try the breakfast as was too wale on the day after the night before. High quality... More

You can take the subway from the airport to the Syntagma Square station. There's a 2-people option, which is 2 euros cheaper than 2 separate tickets. This hotel is a 2 to 3-minute walk from the station, just across the street from the square. There are always taxis at the square. So transportation is very convenient. The Acropolis is a... More

We stayed here in a standard room and the first thing that struck me is how tiny the room and the bathroom was. Of course, it was all very comfortable - a sofa, nice linen, good range of toiletries but the size was much smaller than standard rooms in other 4 stars. The glass separator next to the bath tub... This hotel is located at just a few minutes walk from Syntagma square. I stayed at this hotel twice, once when I came back from Tirana (3 Apr.) and at the second time, I checked out and moved to Kalambaka, and on the next day I came back to this hotel again(5 Apr.). At the first stay, room number was 914,... More

Staying in Syntagma

Neighborhood Profile
Syntagma
Perhaps the best place to get your bearings is Syntagma Square, crowned by the imposing Parliament building on its upper side and surrounded by other large structures, such as the exclusive Hotel Grande Bretagne. The grand avenues that lead towards Omonia are also full of massive Neoclassical edifices like the Numismatic Museum and those around smaller Platia Kolokotroni. Here you will find lots of travel agents, bookshops and fashion shops, especially on Ermou Street. Just south of Syntagma Square, you can take a breather in the lush National Gardens, which extend into the grounds of the Zappeio palace and beyond to the ancient Temple of Olympian Zeus.
