The hotels location is great, close to shops (ermou), restaurants, bars, within walking distance to plaka and monastiraki where there a lots of places to eat, have a coffee and a drink. Very easy to find a taxi. rooms clean and spacious even though bathroom a bit small. Staff very friendly and always willing to help. The only thing that... More

The Electra Hotel was in the perfect location for an all too brief stay in Athens. Our tour focused on the Greek islands and we only had one full day in Athens. The central location of the hotel allowed us to walk to Constitution Square and view the changing of the guards, then hop a subway to the Acropolis station.... More

What a great location for this hotel, it is in the. center of Athens. Very convenient. Only problem was the reception staff could not speak English. Thankful that an English speaking woman was there to assist. Rooms were ok, bathrooms too but nothing beats the location.

I have to say that we choose Electra Hotel just based on its proximity to our business meeting, which was very near to Syntagma square. Later we found that the location was just great. Better to give the exact address to the taxi driver, as we were taken at the Electra Palace, which is a nice hotel of the same... More

While the room was a tad small, the location could not have been better. Hotel is on Ermou Street -- one of the major shopping streets in Athens. The staff was great. The breakfast buffet was unsurpassed. The beds are super comfy. And, there's coffee and tea in the room! We stayed 4 nights and were thoroughly pleased with this... More

This hotel is very nice, and the location is ideal. It is close to everything you want to see while in town. In one day, we caught a tour bus to Acropolis and walked around the shopping district and all through town to see the historical sites, and back to the hotel. Right across from the changing of the guards... More

Bus X95 from he airport drops you off about a block from the hotel. Cheaper and just as nice as a Taxi. The hotel has small, but very clean rooms and great service. The staff from top to bottom were very helpful and friendly. The breakfast buffet had great food and the staff was helpful in providing extras like espresso,... More

Spent 4 days in Athens, for a quick break. Considering European hotels, it's good value for money based on its central location. It's right in the syntagma square, 2 minutes walk from the buses, the hop-on hop-off stations, taxi stops, and the bus stop which takes you right to the Airport which is an hour away for only 5 Euros !... Excellent Hotel in the centre of Athens, within walking distance of Syntagma Rail Station, close to ancient sights, major shops and plenty restaurants. Breakfast extremely good variety from hot to cold. Comfortable rooms together with very helpful staff. Would definitely stay again if we are lucky enough to find ourselves in Athens again.

Hotel Electra is located in the very center of Athens, just on Syntagma Sq. As you can easily understand it's location, near to what a business or leasure traveler wants, is at Electra's doorstep. But you have to notice that hotel's rooms are quite small as well as it's bathrooms. Both are very clean, and well equiped. Breakfast buffet is... More

Staying in Syntagma

Neighborhood Profile
Syntagma
Perhaps the best place to get your bearings is Syntagma Square, crowned by the imposing Parliament building on its upper side and surrounded by other large structures, such as the exclusive Hotel Grande Bretagne. The grand avenues that lead towards Omonia are also full of massive Neoclassical edifices like the Numismatic Museum and those around smaller Platia Kolokotroni. Here you will find lots of travel agents, bookshops and fashion shops, especially on Ermou Street. Just south of Syntagma Square, you can take a breather in the lush National Gardens, which extend into the grounds of the Zappeio palace and beyond to the ancient Temple of Olympian Zeus.
