I stayed two nights at this Classical Acropol hotel in Athens after booking through expedia. It is a short 25 min walk to the Acropolis and 15 min to Syntagma square for the government buildings etc and shopping. Omonia square where this hotel is located is a bad location. There are tonnes of street people, prostitutes, and drug dealers. At... more

Checked in to this hotel at 2.00pm. Checked out at 2.30pm. Dropped off by a cab in a part of town populated by drunks, hoboes and call girls. Nearby was a foul smelling meat market. Architecture is bad 1970's concrete-fest. Inside it got worse. The room we were offered was dark, small, tatty, damp, odorous and had a balcony door... more

Stayed for 3 days with family & friends on a leisure trip, Interiors are old fashioned & depressing, appear outdated. Location is good , central. Surroundings are noisy & dangerous at nights with drug peddlers & alcoholics moving freely. Staff is cooperative. Breakfast good & included in tariff. Minibar is very expensive. Good rooms on higher floors & at the... more

last week me and my husband visited Acropol hotel for 2 nigths . the hotel is just a few minutes from the shopping area, Acropolis , restaurants etc. Very friendly personnel, clean and spacious rooms, delicious breakfast, very good rates. Moreover the metro is just outside the hotel. more

The hotel hardly merits two stars. Omonia is a horrible location in an otherwise beautiful city. The hotel lobby is nice but the rest of the hotel is shabby, chipped furnishings, old fixtures, stained carpets. The noisy school party on our floor complete with screaming teenagers belied their claim to be a business hotel. Don't stay here. more

I stayed in this hotel for one night, during a business travel in Athens. Although their brochures ("classical hotels") refer that it is a 5-star hotel, to my opinion this is not a 5-star: it is a relatively good 4-star property, with very reasonable price ( 120 Euro with american breakfast, per room, per night) when compared with other 5-star... more

First of all, definitely not 5 star. Service is 1 star and the rooms are at most 2 stars. Check in experience was bad. The female receptionist (her name is Olga I think) was very rude and we witnessed her raising her voice a few times to guests. Staff at the breakfast room were also unfriendly. Lifts are small and... more

This hotel is more 2* than 4* so be prepared! We booked this hotel as we were only in Athens for 2 nights and thought we get some guaranteed standard by going 4*. Not so!! Arriving in the evening, our room was spacious enough, but faded, jaded and the floor well scuffed, although clean, and the bathroom in real need... more

I stayed at this Hotel during 2008 Olympics basketball qualifications. I only can say it was very disappointing experience. Ok, I’ve been in many other hotels and know that they are often overrated but this is definitely the worst 5* hotel I ever stayed at. First bad impression was the hotel lobby. Sofas were totally worn out with holes in... more
