Overpriced and overwhelming smell of smoke in corridors as well as room (despite the no smoking signs). Room is extremely dated and old fashioned in decoration and furnishing. We knew it wasn't centrally located but this is worst hotel I have stayed in in years. It is a disgrace compared to other Best Westerns I have stayed in previously.

The 4 persons family room we got on the first floor was well designed and spacious. However we were disturbed by noisy people in the street from 4 am and so had a poor night. Breakfast was average, only saved by the fresh orange juice.

We had a lovely warm welcome when we arrived and this positive note continued all through our stay. The staff were approachable, helpful and friendly at all times. Our room and the public places throughout were bright and clean, our bed very comfortable and a plentiful breakfast. The hotel is situated near to The Archeological Museum and is within walking... I stayed at this hotel in December 2014, everything was flawless! We were first impressed by the size of our room. An american sized room right in the middle of an european city! It had everything we needed, ac, tv, fridge, they even have a balcony where you could see the acropolis ! Bathroom was big, shower temperature was’t bipolar... More

Returning to The Museum Hotel and Athens after 2 years, I can only say that service and quality of the property have improved further! I am aware of that the area, is neither upmarket, nor particularly welcoming, with graffiti on all buildings, expressing views on the political situation. The location is superb though, for walking to all the best attractions... More

Courteous staff, great location and decent breakfast. Opposite the main Museum in Athens and close to Subway and travel via local taxis is cheap as well. Free Internet. Good base hotel for few days in Athens.

The reception staff are extremely helpful even explaining the ticket system on the metro. Hotel was very clean in all areas. The room was ideal for a city break. There is a small bar no food but the staff can direct you to a lovely family ran restaurant Rozalia a five minute walk away. The area is full of graffiti... More

We stayed at the BW Museum for the Athens 2014 Marathon. First, the hotel made arrangements for a runners breakfast which was great and early enough for all to eat and depart for the buses to thes starting line. The hotel was very clean, the staff was very helpful and willing to provide assistance and provide recommendations on local restaurants... More

Staying in Exarchia

Neighborhood Profile
Exarchia
Exarchia is in many ways Athens’ best-kept secret, discovered by relatively few international visitors. Located behind the main University and Polytechnic buildings, it is unsurprisingly home to many students, intellectuals and politicos. This is reflected in the area’s vibrant street art and graffiti, which seems to cover almost every inch of wall space. Some of the best Athenian tavernas are located here, as well as its most alternative bars and underground music venues. You'll find political bookshops and quirky stores here, yet it is also a neighborhood inhabited by families and older folk. On Saturdays, punks and grandmothers alike head for Kallidromiou Street, nestled below Strefi Hill, to pick up fresh produce at the traditional laiki agora (street market).
