My friends and I stayed at this hotel last week for 3 nights. The hotel is very nice. They have a rooftop bar that overlooks the Acropolis. It is open to the public so it gets very packed quickly. Our breakfast is also served in that area. The hotel is right in the middle of everything! There are a bunch... More

In the middle of the action, nice style, great rooftop breakfast, warm Greek hospitality all around. Also right next to metro station with direct access to faraway airport. You cannot go wrong! Monasteraki square can be noisy so ask for a higher floor and a room to the back. Ours was a bit cavernous in a welcome sort of way... More

Stayed here in early July 2015. Can't beat the location. Right in the centre of town. The location comes with the noise of the busy streets nearby. Rooms were clean and very comfortable. Breakfast was simple & served on the scenic roof top bar overlooking monastiraki square.

Based on TripAdvisor reviews, spent three days at A for Athens before boarding our cruise in Piraeus. Perfect place to stay while enjoying the sites & sounds of Athens. Most of the historic sites, museums, & shopping were within walking distance. The view from our 3rd floor room (and the rooftop bar) facing the Acropolis was amazing. Be aware, though,... More

This hotel is in an excellent location. The rooftop bar is amazing for its views of the Parthenon and Acropolis. The rooms are very stylish and clean and the staff are very helpful. Would definitely recommend for couples.

If you're a backpacker spoil yourself here, if you're a mid range traveller A for Athens is definitely for you and if you have money to burn, don't, stay at A for Athens...you need nothing else in Athens. The view is priceless, roof bar goes 'off' and breakfast too much even for my 26yr old son. I can't recommend this... More

We've spent three nights here in late June, 2015 and left extremely satisfied. I won't go into all the great qualities of the hotel like the exceptional staff, the simple yet complete furnishing and tidiness of the room, the great location and the famous view, I'd rather expand on the negative side to help your decision. After reading the reviews... More

We arrived off our international flt at 8am, and didn't expect that our room would be ready. However, the gentleman on reception apologised for it NOT being ready, and sent us up to the rooftop restaurant for complimentary coffee & pastry while we waited, which only took another half hour. Never had that happen before! The hotel faces onto Monastiraki... More

Great location for a first time visit to Athens, really in the middle of it all and you can walk everywhere you would like to go in around 20 minutes. The roof top bar is great (crowded at night, but in the morning it is nice and quiet and that is where the tasty breakfast is served). The staff is... More

Had cocktails here before going on for dinner. Got a table with great view of square and Acropolis. Good choice of cocktails and not too over the top price wise. Recommended. But do get a bit p'd off when Tripadvisor tells me I haven't written enough at the end of a review!!

Staying in Psirri / Gazi

Neighborhood Profile
Psirri / Gazi
Side-by-side neighborhoods Psirri and Gazi provide some of the city’s prime nightlife. The almost claustrophobic streets of Psirri feature an interesting blend of original small businesses with the restaurants, cafés and bars that have recently sprouted up. The central artery of Agion Anargiron Street has lively places to eat or drink. Further west, you can visit the peaceful ancient cemetery of Keramikos, then cross busy Pireos Street to find yourself in Gazi. With the huge Technopolis performance and art complex converted from old gasworks at its heart, you really have to come at night to appreciate this maze of bars at its best, although a daytime stroll will allow you to admire the excellent street art.
