I would say that in terms of value for money my stay at A for Athens in March 2015 has probably been the best deal I have found in Athens so far. On previous occasions I had the pleasure of staying in the Intercontinental at Syngrou Avenue and Novotel at the airport. The quality of the accommodation there is undoubtedly... More

The location right above a metro stop (Monastiraki) makes this an excellent place to be based for visiting the sites of Athens. The square out front is lively and there is lots of food nearby. The rooftop view of the Acropolis is amazing and the Agora and Hadrian's Library are a quick walk away. My room was on the back... More

We enjoyed our two-night stay. Great breakfast and friendly staff. We are already looking forward to returning in two weeks. The roof top bar was amazing. The location was perfect. We were very happy while staying there.

The location is excellent, close to train, the markets (shopping and food) and attractions . And we got room facing the acropolis!! fantastic! the staff at the check-in counter are wonderful and complimentary bottle of wine for our short 1 night stay before we head to the airport the next day. We have breakfast at the roof top, I think... More

After 3 weeks travelling through Greece, our last stop was A for Athens. It was perfect. It was the kind of place where you could really drop everything on the ground, clean up thoroughly, and have plenty of space to do so in. Location: We were amazed at the location of this hotel. To be in clear viewing distance of... More

I would wholeheartedly recommend A for Athens for its location alone, convenient both for connections to the airport or Piraeus, and for exploring the city centre. Make sure you book a room with a view on the Acropolis: while Monastiraki square tends to be fairly noisy at night, the feeling of falling asleep (and then waking up!) to such a... More

The location of the hotel is excellent: just 2 minutes away from Monastraki Square and Metro Station. This is an ideal hotel within walking distance to several sights: the Parliament Building in Syntagma Square, the Agoras, the Flea Market in Monastraki Station, the shopping street in Plaka. Enjoy your free breakfast at the rooftop restaurant/ bar which overlooks Acropolis and... More

Staying in Psirri / Gazi

Neighborhood Profile
Psirri / Gazi
Side-by-side neighborhoods Psirri and Gazi provide some of the city’s prime nightlife. The almost claustrophobic streets of Psirri feature an interesting blend of original small businesses with the restaurants, cafés and bars that have recently sprouted up. The central artery of Agion Anargiron Street has lively places to eat or drink. Further west, you can visit the peaceful ancient cemetery of Keramikos, then cross busy Pireos Street to find yourself in Gazi. With the huge Technopolis performance and art complex converted from old gasworks at its heart, you really have to come at night to appreciate this maze of bars at its best, although a daytime stroll will allow you to admire the excellent street art.
