Probably has one of the nicest terraces to view the Acropolis. Great drinks and nibbles on the roof. It stops there. At best, this is an upscale hostel. The rooms are nicely appointed. Absolutely forget about sleeping. Windows are single glazed. Monastiraki has all sorts including African drummers until 3-4am (I'm told by reception every night). One of the worst... More

We really loved this place. Travelling as 3 adults we had a triple and were amazed at the size and quality of the room we got. Modern and well fitted we had a fridge and Hob unit if you needed it but we ate out at the many nearby restaurants. Superbly located for sightseeing and for onward travel. The Metro... More

Good room though no view, very clean, nice big bathroom and shower. Very central - cocktail bar on the roof, pricey but worth a visit or two. Great breakfast served in the same rooftop bar so you can enjoy the same amazing views in the morning. Enjoyed the stay here.

We loved A for Athens. We travelled with two young children. We stayed in a family room which faced Monastiraki and we had spectacular views of the Acropolis from our room. The rooms were very comfortable and clean. Breakfast was served on the rooftop which was amazing! The location is close to everything - shopping, cafés, restaurants, train station. I... More

We loved staying at A for Athens. For the price, it is unbeatable. The metro will pick you up right by port and literally drop you off on the Monastiraki Square (a minute walk to A for Athens). You go to the same metro station (a minute walk away) and it will take you to the airport. I would highly... More

My parents and I came to Athens for just 1 night (need to fly out tomorrow morning at 8am). Had a wonderful vacation in Ikaria. The moment we stepped into this hotel, we regret we spend a vacation in Greece. The front desk is very rude. Elevator is super tiny and inconvenient to enter the corridor to the rooms. Triple... This was our first hotel that we stayed at in Greece. Firstly, the location is great as it's close to everything. Secondly, the staff's kindness and friendliness as well as the room facilities and cleanness was just the way it should! The breakfast offered is very nice and has a good selection. The rooms are cleaned every single day, new... More

A for Athens is the perfect choice for exploring central Athens, perfectly centrally located just off the Monastiraki square, it's a great base from which basically walk to a lot of Athen's major attractions, bars and restaurants. Also, the subway for both the airport and Piraeus is 30 seconds away from the hotel lobby. Personnel could not be more kind... More

The only reason it's not 5 stars for me is that, the curtains in our room, 44, were very thin, and the light shined through, so me and my girlfriend didn't sleep as well, maybe if not putting up thicker curtains, offering some sleeping masks would do the trick. Also, there was no minibar inside the room. Other than that,... More

I liked this hotel because of the location, its simplicity and the amazing views from the rooftop terrace and breakfast room. The reception were really helpful too and with the proximity to the metro, the square, Plaka and the flea market all on the doorstep you can't go wrong for a short stay in Athens. Pros: rooftop terrace, views, simple,... More
