Situated with monistiraki square on the doorstep, this hotel is probably the best in this area. With spacious and very comfy rooms - I would definitely stay here again when I return to Athens The cocktail bar on the roof (also where you eat breakfast) gives a beautiful view of the Acropolis!

We stayed one night on the 14/8/15 and loved the hotel! Great location in the heart Monastiraki Square, leisurely stroll up to the Acropolis. Great rooftop bar with an amazing view! Good cocktails and food. The staff were very helpful and pleasant and our room was very comfortable and clean. Can't fault A for Athens. Would highly recommend!

Stayed here for a couple of nights at the end of our 2-week long holiday in Greece. A fab okay to end our time there. (For our first visit at the start of the 2 weeks we stayed in an AirBNB which was also great and much cheaper!) Great hotel - modern, clean, brilliant location. We stayed in the family... More

Very large and design room, amazing view and nice breakfast but the hotel is just above Monastiraki square. We went back at 2:30 am and couldn't sleep until 5 because of the djembes just below the room. Nice surprise at 7:45: the bells from the church! The windows of the room are not hermetic enough. Furthermore the roof terrace is... More

Great hotel with easy access to the city. Rooms were clean and very comfortable. The staff, especially Vangelis were very helpful and hospitable. Great views of the Acropolis and Monastiraki. Very trendy cocktail bar at roof top.

A for Athens is centrally located to many attractions and restaurants/bars in Athens. Our room was very nice and spacious. The staff was helpful and very friendly. The cocktail bar and restaurant upstairs is great as well. The Acropolis views were amazing as well!

A for Athens roof top bar is a good choice when in Monastyraki area. Good location with great views of the Acropolis and the Monastyraki square. Good, cosy ambience and very helpful staff - special kudos to the host. Good cocktail list and well prepared drinks. the menu is somewhat limited to standards. We had: A for Athens appwtizers variety... More

I refer to the roof garden of the hotel. This a nice bar with magnificent view. It's cocktails are good (not sth special) but it;s very expensive. This what impressive me is their catalogue which was in A4 parer. This is unacceptable when a bar (generally) and especially like this earn so much money every day!

AMAZING view on the Acropolis, centrally located, great rooftop bar & restaurant, friendly stuff but awfully noisy...... Would recommend for a night but not for a whole holiday if you want to get a bit of sleep...

We stayed here for four nights. The staff were very welcoming and helpful. The accommodation was modern and roomy. It is located right next to Monastiraki Station. We caught the metro from the airport and just walked across the square. It is a couple of minutes walk from the Plaka area and the Psirri area. Both these areas have numerous... More

Staying in Psirri / Gazi

Neighborhood Profile
Psirri / Gazi
Side-by-side neighborhoods Psirri and Gazi provide some of the city’s prime nightlife. The almost claustrophobic streets of Psirri feature an interesting blend of original small businesses with the restaurants, cafés and bars that have recently sprouted up. The central artery of Agion Anargiron Street has lively places to eat or drink. Further west, you can visit the peaceful ancient cemetery of Keramikos, then cross busy Pireos Street to find yourself in Gazi. With the huge Technopolis performance and art complex converted from old gasworks at its heart, you really have to come at night to appreciate this maze of bars at its best, although a daytime stroll will allow you to admire the excellent street art.
