From the moment we checked in (early no less) every member of the staff was warm, gracious and eager to please. The location is excellent for visiting the Parthenon and its museum, and it is right next to a Metro station. The decor is quirky and edgy, not for those looking for chintz and period furniture. The bed is quite... More

Let's start with the pros: location is great 5 min walk from city central. The bed was nice and firm. The temp gets nice and cold. Good Water pressure in the Shower, clean no mold; water gets nice and hot. Clean drain holes. House keeping was great. Now for the cons: there was really only one, the customer service Or... More

When we debarked from our cruise in Athens, we were able to check into our hotel room at 10am. Unfortunately, we wished they would have waited instead of checking us into the open handicap room. The problem was the bathroom was not well suited. The sink hit between our thighs and our knees causing us to have to significantly bend... More

As it's name suggests, it's a new and trendy hotel. On entering the lobby you are immediately confronted with an entire wall adorned with parts of cabinets, picture frames and table legs. This give you an idea of what's in store for the rest if your stay. The entire hotel is very stylish and modern. Which we enjoyed, but if... More

First time to Athens and stayed at this hotel due to Trip Advisor's recommendation. The staff was on point from the minute we walked in. Very accommodating and service oriented. Room was small but well appointed and clean. Design was awesome- very unique. Roof top bar was open but could not sit outside due to deck treatment. Food was awesome... More

Nice hotel with great location. Service is good. Breakfast is nice. Nothing to complain about except the room is a bit small and the design of bathroom may make the floor get wet a bit easily after shower. Will definitely recommend to my friends!

My husband and I spent 5 nights at the New Hotel in Athens during the first week of April, 2015. We loved the hotel, which is stylish and very well located. We were able to walk not only to the Acropolis, the Plaka and Kolonaki, but also to other fun neighborhoods like Keramikos and Gazi. We arrived at noon and... More

We stayed in New hotel to celebrate the occasion of our daughter's baptism in a picturesque church nearby. We had booked a junior suite in order for the baby to have a separate room and for us to enjoy privacy. The main bedroom as well as the bathroom was absolutely luxurious and stylish providing high- end design, calm and serenity.... More

Pardon the delay in my review but I wanted to make sure that I wasn't just on an emotional high when I posted my comments. It has been five months and I still find peace by reminiscing about the New Hotel. This trip was to celebrate a milestone in my career so we opted for the Penthouse Suite (which still... More

Staying in Syntagma

Neighborhood Profile
Syntagma
Perhaps the best place to get your bearings is Syntagma Square, crowned by the imposing Parliament building on its upper side and surrounded by other large structures, such as the exclusive Hotel Grande Bretagne. The grand avenues that lead towards Omonia are also full of massive Neoclassical edifices like the Numismatic Museum and those around smaller Platia Kolokotroni. Here you will find lots of travel agents, bookshops and fashion shops, especially on Ermou Street. Just south of Syntagma Square, you can take a breather in the lush National Gardens, which extend into the grounds of the Zappeio palace and beyond to the ancient Temple of Olympian Zeus.
