This hotel was pretty much as we expected from the description and reviews, and once you get past the bridal suite fantasy decor (all white with gold and sparkly accents), it's quite comfortable. The Diamond Plus is essentially an annex to the Athens Diamond Homtel across the street, and the registration and breakfast are over there. We didn't find that... More

One of the nicest hotels I hsbe stayed in Greece, elegant, convenient, comfortable and very hospitable staff. It is very central in the heart of Athens and has such and amazing, wonderful and elegant feel to it. I recommend this hotel to anyone wanting to enjoy the heart of Athens in style.

The Diamond Plus is an annexe to the main hotel and is just across the road. It has a lift. Our room was all white - walls, floor, bedding, furniture - with large chandeliers. The bed was large and quite comfortable. The bathroom was very nice with a loo, basin and very posh shower with water coming at you from... More

We spent a couple of nights at the Athens Diamond Plus hotel here during our honeymoon. The hotel in quaint and very centrally located near Syntagma Square. Staff was nice. The hotel room was a decent size with a lovely balcony! The only downside was the cigarette smell in the hallways.

We stayed at this hotel for 2 nights and was very pleased with our choice. It is very central to all the attractions and shopping. The hotel was very clean and they could not do enough for us. We would stay there again.

Great location. Totally walkable to all parts of the city. Staff were super friendly and even helped us confirm our tour for Meteora. I really enjoyed the breakfast, it was simple but I got my full for half the day! Interior decor of the room was great. Very chic and clean, with a few sparkly diamond touches. Shower was rather... I can't speak highly enough for the location and the accommodation itself. Most of the tourist attractions are walking distance and there is an abundance of eateries and good cafés that are easily accessible. An easy walk to the Monastiraki area where there is a rather large flea market and incredible Byzantine gold jewelry shops to browse. I have found... More

I booked Athens Diamond Plus hotel through website, a deluxe double room with price of €240 for 2 nights. The hotel has 2 buildings, opposite each other. Reception and restaurant for breakfast at the main building while my room is in next building accross the street. The room was very bright with lots of light, white, clean, and quite spacious.... This hotel is conveniently located just a block away from Syntagma Square and the Parliament Building, which means that all the transport you will need is close at hand- trains, trams, taxis and buses. It has two buildings, one on either side of Voulis Street near the corner of Mitropoleus Street, which is one of the main thoroughfares heading away... More

The rooms are a very decent size, tired but have been glitzed up. Just don't look behind any curtains. We had two rooms, both had good bathrooms but one was a shower over the bath which can be awkward for some. Beds were not great, but we slept. Prepare for the elevator - only just smaller than a telephone box,... More

Staying in Syntagma

Neighborhood Profile
Syntagma
Perhaps the best place to get your bearings is Syntagma Square, crowned by the imposing Parliament building on its upper side and surrounded by other large structures, such as the exclusive Hotel Grande Bretagne. The grand avenues that lead towards Omonia are also full of massive Neoclassical edifices like the Numismatic Museum and those around smaller Platia Kolokotroni. Here you will find lots of travel agents, bookshops and fashion shops, especially on Ermou Street. Just south of Syntagma Square, you can take a breather in the lush National Gardens, which extend into the grounds of the Zappeio palace and beyond to the ancient Temple of Olympian Zeus.
