Only stayed for one night in this hotel in Athens but it's positioned in a really beautiful part of the city like a leafy suburb with small boutique shops and trendy bars and resteraunts. The hotel has a fantastic style and modern twist to decor etc that had me smiling from the moment I arrived. The checkin was quick and... More

We somewhat enjoyed our stay here, but felt the property to be a little cold, as there were no people around except for clerk at the reception desk. We would have appreciated some sort of shuttle service to either the port or the airport, however there was a subway stop about 5 minutes from the hotel. In pictures advertising the... More

Wifi, new bathrooms, modern excellent staff. Great breakfast and restaurant. Everyone was gracious. I enjoyed dinner with a friend. The hospitality og the staff made this enjoyable. My daughter and her husband stayed there in april 2015 and highly recommended it. I walked to the benaki museum. A lot of police protection

I used trip advisor religiously to book my Greece/Istanbul vacation - and I vowed at the end of my trip to leave reviews for all hotels/tours/services I used...so here goes my first review.... Periscope hotel is located in Kolonaki, which is a small shopping district with great cafes, ambiance and little bars to visit for a drink/night cap. The restaurants... More

Located in the quiet area of Kolonaki and near the Evangelismos Metro, this hotel is definitely my favorite during my trip to Greece. Mount Lycabettus is just a stone throw away so you can visit it anytime you want. A morning or evening walk up will served as a great workout. Breakfast seems to be a bit repetitive thou, maybe... The hotel is in an excellent location in the centre of Kolonaki where you don't feel overrun by tourists. The hotel itself is ok, the rooms a bit small, which is ok for a short visit. In general it seems that they could do with a renovation of the rooms, as they seem to be getting a bit old. The... More

This hotel is not located close to the tourist areas of Athens and that is exactly why we chose it. Close to shops, museums and the gardens, it provided a bit of quiet from the busy Acropolis traffic. We found the rooms spacious and the bed was terrific after coming from other hotels/ B&B's in smaller towns in Greece and... More

Hotel located in a good area, close to Metro and only 2 stops away from the main sites. Hotel staff helpful & friendly. They stored our luggage while we went to Meteora for 2 days. When we returned, our bags were already in our new rooms. Rooms are very clean, new/modern and spatious. We booked 2 rooms for a family... More

Nice little hotel a walking distance away from the city centre. Staff was friendly and easy going. Room was comfortable enough, room size a bit small. Reasonable money-for-value. Recommended for a short stay in Athens, if you'd only like to see the highlights.

We found this little 4 star gem in Kolonakis, Athens. Small, clean, well kept and nicely priced. Located in Kolonakis, beautiful residential area. Walking distance to the traditional places to visit. Restaurants all around, places to sit and have a drink while people watching after a long day of tourism. Safe sorroundings, you could walk around the area at any... More

Staying in Kolonaki / Lykavittos

Neighborhood Profile
Kolonaki / Lykavittos
By far the ritziest neighborhood in town, Kolonaki is home to most of the chic boutiques and designer label stores. Here, the wealthy say no to austerity by dressing in their finest and spending hours in the trendy cafés around Kolonaki Square, sipping the most expensive coffee in Europe. The area also contains a couple of notable museums and cultural institutions, which add to the air of nobility. The leafy upper reaches of Kolonaki transition into Lykavittos Hill, the highest point in central Athens. Climb the paths through its wooded slopes to the tiny chapel at the top, from where you are rewarded with stunning views across the Acropolis to the sea and even the mountains of the Peloponnese on a clear day. The wooden amphitheater up here hosts regular concerts during the summer.
