Nice little hotel a walking distance away from the city centre. Staff was friendly and easy going. Room was comfortable enough, room size a bit small. Reasonable money-for-value. Recommended for a short stay in Athens, if you'd only like to see the highlights.

We found this little 4 star gem in Kolonakis, Athens. Small, clean, well kept and nicely priced. Located in Kolonakis, beautiful residential area. Walking distance to the traditional places to visit. Restaurants all around, places to sit and have a drink while people watching after a long day of tourism. Safe sorroundings, you could walk around the area at any... More

The hotel staff is very friendly, room and hotel is clean and in a perfect and central location. Many trendy bars, restaurants and high-end shops are around the corner. Great for business, romance or city stay. It's a small cozy hotel.

What a delightful hotel in the upmarket Kolonaki area of Athens! Ecclectic, cosmopolitan, hi-tech, clean lines, and refined style is what you will find here! It is so refreshing to stay in this hotel, I loved it! The freshness of the level of hygiene maintained in this neat, minimalistic designed, gorgeous gem is refreshing and inspiring. The staff is fantastic,... More

I'm not sure why hotels.com rates this as a 2 star hotel. It's definitely a 3.5-4 star hotel. We stayed here for a day in July. We were lucky enough to have been able to check in early at 8am. This is a very nice and modern hotel. The standard room was clean and seemed very "efficient". There didn't seem... More

This hotel exceeded all our expectations! It was recommended to us by Athenians but I didn't expect how good it was! It was extremely clean and the standard of the rooms was very high. The decor was hip and cool and very modern and he bed and the pillows were divine! The service was equally as good and the staff... More

Stayed here twice during a recent trip to Greece. The hotel is small and minimalist in style. For our first visit we stayed in a standard room ( no suites were available). The room was small but functional and spotlessly clean. The second visit we stayed in a junior suite with a balcony; I highly recommend paying the extra for... More

My wife and I stayed here while in Athens on our honeymoon in May '15. We loved it! It is very clean, the staff is wonderful, the breakfast was delicious, and it is within walking distance of everything you could want to do in Athens. It is on a quiet street, but close to lots of conveniences that you may... More

My husband and I finished a long three week vacation all over Europe in Athens. We loved Periscope Hotel! It was wonderful. We had a little trouble finding it late at night when we arrived (we should have just taken a cab!), but we found it with no trouble the rest of our stay. Our room was perfect, nothing extravagant,... More

I had a great stay at Periscope Hotel. I stayed in a junior suite with a terrace facing the street. Both the room and terrace were spacious. Periscope is located in Kolonaki which is a very upscale neighborhood which sits on a hill. The sidewalk cafes and restaurants sit on a small slope with flowers covering the path - it's... More

Staying in Kolonaki / Lykavittos

Neighborhood Profile
Kolonaki / Lykavittos
By far the ritziest neighborhood in town, Kolonaki is home to most of the chic boutiques and designer label stores. Here, the wealthy say no to austerity by dressing in their finest and spending hours in the trendy cafés around Kolonaki Square, sipping the most expensive coffee in Europe. The area also contains a couple of notable museums and cultural institutions, which add to the air of nobility. The leafy upper reaches of Kolonaki transition into Lykavittos Hill, the highest point in central Athens. Climb the paths through its wooded slopes to the tiny chapel at the top, from where you are rewarded with stunning views across the Acropolis to the sea and even the mountains of the Peloponnese on a clear day. The wooden amphitheater up here hosts regular concerts during the summer.
