Nice little find in Athens with wonderful views of surrounding Athens nestled up against one of the highest hills and a wonderful walk up to the church on the hill overlooking all of Athens - tremendous sunsets with a glass of wine. Make sure to request a balcony front view (some of the rooms face a wall, so make sure... More

We spent two nights at the St George Lycabettus following a Windstar Cruise and were very happy with the new "chic" room assigned to us. It was very clean with a small balcony and most amenities you would need (strangely there was no kleenex in the rooms). They even gave us a large complimentary bottle of water. Breakfast was served... More

This hotel seriously needs to be renovated. The doors are as thin as cardboard and it was very easy to hear just about every noise imaginable as people were running through the halls at 2 a.m. on a weekday evening. I was here on business, and I was generally disgusted.

The St George Hotel is very well located: the neighborhood is quiet and cozy, with lots of shops and beautiful staicases. It's within a 15-minute walk from Syntagma Subway Station. We had one of the low-price suite, which was located on the ground floor and had a window to the interior patio, so no views for us. The bedroom was... More

The site of this hotel provides a marvelous view of the Acropolis. Choose a deluxe room and enjoy a view of the Acropolis from your balcony. Spectacular at sunset. The staff is anxious to please but the service is just adequate since they appear a little disorganized. There were multiple apologies for delays in fulfilling just a few requests. One... More

A very clean and nice hotel on a hill in a lively, shopping and restaurant filled neighborhood in a part of Athens that is walkable to most of the main sites (but the walk back up requires some stamina). The newly renovated eco chic rooms are very clean, modern and comfortable. Definitely pay the extra bit for a balcony and... More

Very well positioned out of the hustle of the central area but within easy walking distance. Very helpful staff. Comfortable bed. Breakfast too expensive but local cafes close by. Recommended for all types of travellers

We booked our vacation mostly based on TripAdvisor reviews, and we are very impressed with this hotel. Besides the location , which was excellent ( GREAT VIEW ), the service was above and beyond. We were traveling with our youngest (2y/old) and they made us feel like he was THE prince!!

The Saint George Lycabettus hotel is perfectly located in a pocket of Athens, surrounded by mountain, greenery and the elegant and trendy area of Kolonaki. The views of the Acropolis from most of the hotel rooms and also the restaurant is breathtaking and it is a treat to be able to finish a day of sight seeing or wandering around... More

This was my second stay at the St. George and I absolutely enjoyed every part of it. From the relaxing rooftop pool atmosphere to the amazing rooftop top view of the city of Athens, I truly felt special staying at this hotel. The rooms were flawless and the location was a short walk away from the bustling Kolonaki square. I... More

Staying in Kolonaki / Lykavittos

Neighborhood Profile
Kolonaki / Lykavittos
By far the ritziest neighborhood in town, Kolonaki is home to most of the chic boutiques and designer label stores. Here, the wealthy say no to austerity by dressing in their finest and spending hours in the trendy cafés around Kolonaki Square, sipping the most expensive coffee in Europe. The area also contains a couple of notable museums and cultural institutions, which add to the air of nobility. The leafy upper reaches of Kolonaki transition into Lykavittos Hill, the highest point in central Athens. Climb the paths through its wooded slopes to the tiny chapel at the top, from where you are rewarded with stunning views across the Acropolis to the sea and even the mountains of the Peloponnese on a clear day. The wooden amphitheater up here hosts regular concerts during the summer.
