This hotel is at a central location but it is old. All rooms are not refurnished so you have to be the lucky one in order to have a great room. Ours was really an old and expensive room as it was at price €170. Some of them could have a nice Acropolis view.

I spent four nights early February with my sister. We spent the first two nights in room 226. On the second one, at midnight, right when we falling asleep, the emergency light switches on and a huge noise starts. I first thought it was an idiot playing with a big race car, but it was not. I called reception to... More

The reason I do not give them 5/5 is because my room was SO HOT every night that I would wake up sweating. I told the front desk about that and when I return that day from my tour all I saw was the door to my balcony was open. Ok, I can figure that one out myself. I had... More

Just leaving this hotel and not sure, if I want to come again. The hotel is good, staff very nice and helpful, but I would expect a bit more from 5* hotel... 1st - I did the basic mistake not too book room with panoramic view.. The room is nice, but the courtyard view is really crazy and you enjoy... More

Although I know this hotel since the eighties and I always chose it for the location, my last staying was quite disappointing. Trainees at the front desk were incompetent and my room at the second floor was very noisy.

The hotel is very cosy and situated in a posh and quiet area of Athens, but within walking distance of the main shopping and business centre. If you are lucky you will get a room with spectacular views of the Akropolis. Breakfast is decent and the service is good. The room was renovated and with a wooden floor which I... More

My apologies for the late review. We returned from a seven day Santorini excursion to stay here and catch some historic Athens sites. As a reference our previous hotel in Athens was the Athens Hilton. This is a beautiful boutique hotel with a good bit of charm. The rooms are on the small size but the views are outstanding (if... Stayed here during a business trip. The hotel lies higher up on Lycabettus hill in Athens. It takes a trip through some very narrow streets to get there. The room was quite alright. All the comforts you need are available. From the top floor restaurant you have a great view over Athens. Would stay here again.

St. George is a great hotel in Kolonaki. rooms are refurbished and service is prompt. Sadly, booking without breakfast meant that to get breakfast was 22 Euros. not worth it of course. otherwise, it was a good experience.

Staying in Kolonaki / Lykavittos

Neighborhood Profile
Kolonaki / Lykavittos
By far the ritziest neighborhood in town, Kolonaki is home to most of the chic boutiques and designer label stores. Here, the wealthy say no to austerity by dressing in their finest and spending hours in the trendy cafés around Kolonaki Square, sipping the most expensive coffee in Europe. The area also contains a couple of notable museums and cultural institutions, which add to the air of nobility. The leafy upper reaches of Kolonaki transition into Lykavittos Hill, the highest point in central Athens. Climb the paths through its wooded slopes to the tiny chapel at the top, from where you are rewarded with stunning views across the Acropolis to the sea and even the mountains of the Peloponnese on a clear day. The wooden amphitheater up here hosts regular concerts during the summer.
