Its both central and quiet location in Koloniaki, it's 6th floor restaurant and the roof-pool makes this hotel a very good choice. But ask for a room with a balcony. We hav had that earlier but forgot to ask for it this time.

They call it a boutique hotel, and maybe that was true in the 80's and 90's. However now it as an over booked over priced holiday inn. Stains peeling wallpaper mold and mildew is what you will find. Service is excellent. Beds uncomfortable and hard like a camping cott. Nice area but dead after 9pm. Not worth it. Much nicer... More

My husband and I enjoyed our stay at this hotel. The view from our balcony was exceptional and the staff was always willing to help. We also enjoyed the hotel breakfast. The hotel was on top of a steep hill, but we just accepted it as our daily workout. One downside to this hotel was that the walls were thin.... More

The stuff very helpful and friendly, very nice breakfast, nevertheless I found the room furniture a bit run-down for a 5 star hotel and the mineral water in the fridge of very poor presentation for a 3,50 Euro the small bottle. After the shower in the bathroom, the water remain on the floor not having a place to go away.... More

We loved this hotel. Only downsides are rooms are a bit small and it's a heck of a hike up the hill when you want to walk places. We also felt like got a little shafted on the room, as the lower level rooms don't have as good a view of the city. We could see the acropolis though! All... More

Our visit to this hotel started out rough. We were told the only rooms available for our family of 4 were interior rooms with the windows facing a concrete wall. We insisted that was unacceptable for the rate we were paying. Eventually they switched us to rooms that looked out on the town (not on the acropolis which is a... More

I'd stayed at the St George before, several years ago, and liked it very much; it isn't the most efficient place I've ever stayed but it has character and style and the staff are friendly and helpful.. We were only there for a couple of days, unfortunately, on a rapid visit to Athens, but we did have time on our... More

The position is everything in this wonderful but chaotic city. All the major sites are within walking distance or very (very) cheap taxi ride but the quiet streets of this gentle, up-market area of Athens are a refuge at the end of the day. The airy restaurant in the top floor has wide views of the city and the Acropolis... More

My wife and I spent 3 nights at the St. George Lyacbettus from June 21st to the 24th and found it to be an excellent hotel that was in a nice section of Athens. Not too touristy of an area with lots of trees and small parks around. It is at the base of Lycabettus hill and makes for an... More

Staying in Kolonaki / Lykavittos

Neighborhood Profile
Kolonaki / Lykavittos
By far the ritziest neighborhood in town, Kolonaki is home to most of the chic boutiques and designer label stores. Here, the wealthy say no to austerity by dressing in their finest and spending hours in the trendy cafés around Kolonaki Square, sipping the most expensive coffee in Europe. The area also contains a couple of notable museums and cultural institutions, which add to the air of nobility. The leafy upper reaches of Kolonaki transition into Lykavittos Hill, the highest point in central Athens. Climb the paths through its wooded slopes to the tiny chapel at the top, from where you are rewarded with stunning views across the Acropolis to the sea and even the mountains of the Peloponnese on a clear day. The wooden amphitheater up here hosts regular concerts during the summer.
