Hotel staff is great! They were able to stow our luggage and they were kind enough to allow us to check in a few hours early which was welcome after a long flight. Room was clean, large, nice shower, breakfast choices were plenty and the rooftop bar was priceless. We definitely will stay here again!

Our agent recommended Plaka hotel to us. We had difficulties with our booking. Our agent called them and they said that they have no availability. We show on booking com that there are rooms available. Called them back and they said to check again, there aren't any available now. It was trough. We checked again on line after 10 minutes... We received a cordial welcome at the hotel despite arriving at 11:00a.m., let us store our bags while we had complimentary coffee and tea. The rooms were clean and the bed linens were crisp and comfortable. The buffet breakfast is extensive, plus a continental offering is available at early morning. The location is perfect for visiting the Plaka, the Agora,... More

The Plaka Hotel was centrally located, near the Acropolis, the Ancient Agora, Syntagma Square, Monastiraki Statation, walkable to everything you'd want to go to and public transit...the only time we took a cab was to come back from the Gazi district late at night. When you walk in, the lobby is very basic, not fancy, almost a kind of retro-60s... More

Plaka hotel could not be in better location. You can walk to all the archeological sites and museums. Great buffet breakfast. Rooms are typical smaller European style, very clean and reasonable price for Athens. Difficult to find if you are driving but easy with taxi from airport. Be sure to go to roof top bar for fantastic evening view of... More

The hotel is 3 stars and has only one small elevator for the 6 floors. Sometime one has to wait over 10 minutes to get the elevator, many people give up on waiting and go all the way on stairs. The reception lady by the name of Eva was wonderful, and they also allowed me to stay an extra hour... More

Stayed one night in August 2015. Location fantastic only 10 minutes walk to the Acropolis and restaurants on the way. Rooftop view outstanding - great service and the view is just amazing. Room was great - bathroom very hot. Wifi worked well. Service was also quite good

Stayed here for one night in august. Very good location close to shops and restaurants. Room is an average size, very clean and all amenities worked well, except for wifi which was not very strong in the room itself. They did how ever supply computers and printers for guests to use as they please which i thought was great!.. breakfast... More

Thanks to earlier positive reviews, we took a chance on this hotel and were really happy with it. When we first walked in, I was a little worried because it's not much from the street and the lobby and hallways are nothing exceptional. However the room was very nice/clean/modern, the location was ideal, the breakfast was great, the roof deck... More

My partner and I stayed here in July and spent 3 nights here. We had Ana amazing time walking around the Plaka. There is literally not enough days to look at all the different alley ways and shops and restaurants. The hotel was beautiful and the staff were extremely helpful. Perfect location!

Staying in Plaka

Neighborhood Profile
Plaka
Due to its proximity to the Acropolis, Plaka remains the area where the majority of foreign visitors stay and play. Its attractive features include small squares, some notable museums and the beautiful Mitropolis cathedral, as well as a host of places to stay, eat and drink. Its pedestrian zones make it a pleasant place to escape from the city’s notorious traffic. Adrianou and Kidathineon Streets contain a number of souvenir shops, offering classier items than you will find in the Flea Market. The most rewarding section to explore is the upper reaches towards the Acropolis itself, where many old stone houses with tiled roofs have survived. Up here you can find leafier corners and the odd quaint taverna with unobstructed views of the ancient rock.
