We recently stayed at the Plaka Hotel Athens and we were pleasantly surprised. The rooms are fairly basic but very clean. The proximity to everything is excellent, the staff are very friendly and helpful and the breakfast was great. The hotel has a rooftop bar area that has the most spectacular, uninterrupted views of the Acropolis, just beautiful. The only small criticism I have was... We stayed here for 3 nights during August. The location is perfect. It's very close to the main street of Plaka where all the shops are and a lot of good restaurants. The rooftop bar is a great place to watch the sunset over the Acropolis and one night we even saw the lights go up on the hill. It... More

Partner and I stopped over in Athens for 1 night at end of trip before flight home. Plaka Hotel was the perfect location for this. Having exhausted our map navigation skills by this stage of the trip Plaka was close to shops & Acropolis - the only two things we had left in us. Would highly recommend this hotel for... More

I hadn't been to Athens in 29 years and I don't know how I heard about the Plaka Hotel but I am so thankful that I returned to such a great city with my wife and had the opportunity to stay at this lovely hotel. I had advised the hotel that we would be arriving late from Santorini and much... More

This hotel is in the heart of Plaka, and is the perfect central location for sightseeing in Athens. The rooms are bigger than usual for a hotel in a major city and the complimentary breakfast is the best we had in Greece. The rooftop bar is so lovely for enjoying a cocktail and a gorgeous view of the Acropolis all... More

We only spent one night in Athens and couldn't of been happier. The garden rooftop bar looking out like you could touch the Acropolis was amazing. The staff were so friendly, nothing was too much trouble. They offered a late check out for free due to our late evening flight. At breakfast another staff member was there to assist in... More

We didnt enjoy our stay at this hotel. We found it cramped - the elevator was very old and kept breaking down during our stay. The rooftop bar is very nice and relaxing and we received good service. There was a very helpful concierge but one of the male desk clerks was quite rude and completely unhelpful and for this... More

We only had a night in Athens before catching a plane home but our overnight at the Plaka was pleasant, the view of the Parthenon from the roof bar was intense and we were able to walk to the Acropolis in the morning for a quick tour. The breakfast buffet was decent and the entire staff was helpful and friendly.... More

The hotel is located in the best place for a traveller. Walking distance to the Monastiraki train station which you can get down from after catching the metro from the airport. Awesome restaurants within 50 meters from the hotel door and we tried almost all of them and was very satisfied with the menus. The hotel is somewhat in the... More
