I would like to write a special thank you to all the staff who made our recent stay so nice. They also did a wonderful job in finding, retrieving and repatriating my camera that I stupidly lost on the evening before we flew back to the UK. The hotel is conveniently situated on the Filopappus Hill with views to the... More

The Acropolis Hill hotel is a lovely hotel very close to the Acropolis and on the edge of Philopappos park. The views are amazing and most of the staff are very helpful and friendly, and will arrange ticket bookings and find maps for you. The breakfast was pretty good, it varied each day, but catered to both my cooked breakfast... More

I stayed 2 weeks ago in a twin room with 2 separate beds. Sixth floor room 602 has a lovely view of the Acropolis. The location is central, many sights within walking distance, also bars, restaurants and shops. The facilities exceed what is expected for a 3 star hotel, in my opinion, as a person who works in the travel... More

Went with my boyfriend last week and had a great trip! Hotel is easy to find via the metro and is located centrally to all the sites! 10 min walk to the Acropolis and then loads to explore from there. Breakfast was ok, plenty on offer. Only down side was the shower, wasn't fixed on the wall so was hand... More

I stayed here betwen 8-11 June on my own, and I really enjoyed my stay. It is a bit of a walk from the Acropoli metro station, and I landed at night so it was a bit tricky to find, but nothing major. The bus X95 to and from the airport is also great, it only costs 5Euros, is 24hrs... More

This hotel was the perfect way to enjoy a short stopover in Athens. Across the street from Filopappou Hill, and within easy walking distance from the Acropolis and the Parthenon, I was able to see the top sites without having to travel far. Staff was friendly enough, and rooms were appropriately sized for a city hotel. I was lucky enough... More

Enjoyable stay. Very clean with good breakfast. The rooms are all of similar size with good security, air conditioning and nice bathroom. The hotel staff are very helpful. The location is excellent for the Acropolis and bus tours of the city just a short walk away 10 minutes. The hotel is quiet and has great views from the roof on... More

Excellent Service, courteous and helpful staff in hotel. The top floor has a view of the Acroppolis and the 5th floor large terrace area has excellent views of the Acropolis, Parthenon and Athens city as well as to the sea. Easy access to and walking distance to Acropolis/Parthenon, Plaka Old city/downtown dining area & open top tour buses.

Staying in Thissio / Makriyanni

Neighborhood Profile
Thissio / Makriyanni
Named after the well-preserved Thission (ancient temple of Hephaestus), Thissio is blessed with a small wooded park and some less frenetic streets that offer numerous quieter places to stay and eat. Largely pedestrianized Apostolou Pavlou Street runs between the Acropolis and forested Filopappou Hill, well worth climbing for more great panoramas, until it merges with Dionysiou Areopagitou Street. This leads to the up-and-coming area of Makriyanni, whose centerpiece is the magnificent new Acropolis Museum. Opposite the museum is the entrance to the southern slopes of the Acropolis, while the eponymous metro station nearby is at the top of Makriyanni Street, another strip of touristic cafés and restaurants.
