Enjoyable stay. Very clean with good breakfast. The rooms are all of similar size with good security, air conditioning and nice bathroom. The hotel staff are very helpful. The location is excellent for the Acropolis and bus tours of the city just a short walk away 10 minutes. The hotel is quiet and has great views from the roof on... More

Excellent Service, courteous and helpful staff in hotel. The top floor has a view of the Acroppolis and the 5th floor large terrace area has excellent views of the Acropolis, Parthenon and Athens city as well as to the sea. Easy access to and walking distance to Acropolis/Parthenon, Plaka Old city/downtown dining area & open top tour buses.

We were escorted to our room on the first floor which was really the only basement room (actually it felt more like a sub basement room located lower than the 1st floor.) Sliding doors opened to a courtyard that led upstairs to the swimming pool. The room was a nice size and modern and appeared clean. The shower was in... More

Well located for visiting central Athens and Acropolis, quiet and clean. Besides this it is overrated for the price, small room, average breakfast (but guess it is something you have to deal with all hotels in central Athens).

Stayed here while on a city break a lovely hotel in a quiet area. Very accommodating staff, comfortable rooms and very high standards of cleanliness. Good variety for breakfast and a beautiful rooftop area overlooking the Acropolis. Would highly recommend booking this hotel.

I had chosen the Acropolis Hill because I wanted to be close to the Metro, the Acropolis Museum and Plaka. A few days before my arrival in Athens I emailed the hotel to confirm my prepaid booking but heard nothing from them. I arrived mid-afternoon and was informed that yes I had a confirmed reservation but they did not have... More

Staying in Thissio / Makriyanni

Neighborhood Profile
Thissio / Makriyanni
Named after the well-preserved Thission (ancient temple of Hephaestus), Thissio is blessed with a small wooded park and some less frenetic streets that offer numerous quieter places to stay and eat. Largely pedestrianized Apostolou Pavlou Street runs between the Acropolis and forested Filopappou Hill, well worth climbing for more great panoramas, until it merges with Dionysiou Areopagitou Street. This leads to the up-and-coming area of Makriyanni, whose centerpiece is the magnificent new Acropolis Museum. Opposite the museum is the entrance to the southern slopes of the Acropolis, while the eponymous metro station nearby is at the top of Makriyanni Street, another strip of touristic cafés and restaurants.
