My sister and I stayed here for two days while in Athens. The hotel staff was very nice to us. Locals mentioned that the hotel was in a bad neighborhood but we didn't have any issues. The hotel was clean. It had no wash cloths but I soon learned that this was standard for all hotels here. The breakfast was... More

Great boutique hotel! A ten minute walk to the historic sites and Plaka neighborhood, this clean hotel with great prices is perfect. The staff is extremely friendly and helpful going out of their way to recover our cell phone from a taxi agency after we left it behind. Breakfast was good and rooms are well kept and very minimal.

This hotel is in my opinion not a 4 star hotel. Our room had two single... the really old single beds in it. NO kettle to make tea or coffee. Also we did not have a safe to lock our personal belongings in,. Our room had a balcony right onto one of the small side streets. Not a nice looking... More

Hotel is ok. Reasonably priced and you get what you pay for. Breakfast is a buffet but it is a low quality so dont expect much eventhough the choice of products is huge. Stuff was nice. Area of the hotel seems to be really dangerous but it is quite ok despite the spooky feeling you get on the first time.... More

This hotel is walking distance to all the major touristic sites in Athens, including the Acropolis, Ancient Agora, Roman Agora, Mount Lycabettus, The archeological museum, etc. A 10 minutes taxi ride from Gazi (nightlife), 20 minutes taxi ride to Mikrolimano for great seafood and bars at the pier (see my Zorbas' review) and a 20 minutes ride from the main... This was a light bright Hotel that has so much to offer but we had no where to leave our bags open in the room. The twin beds were very comfortable not the hard beds that we found in most of the other Hotels that we stayed in while in Greece. The location was good it was close or easy... More

Small but descent rooms, renovated in most part. Polite service during the day. At night it gets a bit rough. Fani is the soul of this place with a nice, big, sweet smile every morning, polite and professional. Very average breakfast. Coffee just tolerable. Hint: skip b-f altogether and go for a yogurt with honey to the nearby Stani patisserie... More

We came to Greece for the first time April 2015 with one other couple and stayed for two weeks and had a great experience. They gave us the two top floor rooms and we shared the roof top balcony. Excellent value, excellent, helpful staff, great breakfast. We highly recommend this hotel! We had a fantastic time and would definatly book... More

Breakfast was okay, hard boiled eggs, cappuccino machine, bread, fruit, yogurt. The service was very good, rooms and cleanliness were also very good. We stayed with another couple and they had the other roof top room with us! It was awesome because we had the whole roof!

Very good experience but too much noise from the street. The service was very good, rooms and cleanliness were also very good. What you pay is what you get. Worth staying if you are planning for cheap holidays. 10 minute walk from city centre

Staying in Omonia

Neighborhood Profile
Omonia
Omonia Square is as plain in appearance as Syntagma is grand. Surrounded largely by functional blocks from the 1950s and 60s and no longer boasting its underground stalls, the square is now mostly frequented by immigrants and bargain shoppers. The most rewarding area to explore is to the south. Set off down Athinas Street, with the Acropolis gradually coming into focus in the distance, and you will get a sense of old commercial Athens, especially at the picturesque meat, fish and vegetable markets some way beyond the City Hall. The blocks to the west of Athinas are home to many Chinese and South Asian traders, adding a multicultural atmosphere to what was until the late 1990s a very homogenous society.
