This was a light bright Hotel that has so much to offer but we had no where to leave our bags open in the room. The twin beds were very comfortable not the hard beds that we found in most of the other Hotels that we stayed in while in Greece. The location was good it was close or easy... More

Small but descent rooms, renovated in most part. Polite service during the day. At night it gets a bit rough. Fani is the soul of this place with a nice, big, sweet smile every morning, polite and professional. Very average breakfast. Coffee just tolerable. Hint: skip b-f altogether and go for a yogurt with honey to the nearby Stani patisserie... More

We came to Greece for the first time April 2015 with one other couple and stayed for two weeks and had a great experience. They gave us the two top floor rooms and we shared the roof top balcony. Excellent value, excellent, helpful staff, great breakfast. We highly recommend this hotel! We had a fantastic time and would definatly book... More

Breakfast was okay, hard boiled eggs, cappuccino machine, bread, fruit, yogurt. The service was very good, rooms and cleanliness were also very good. We stayed with another couple and they had the other roof top room with us! It was awesome because we had the whole roof!

Very good experience but too much noise from the street. The service was very good, rooms and cleanliness were also very good. What you pay is what you get. Worth staying if you are planning for cheap holidays. 10 minute walk from city centre

I stayed at The Chic Hotel for 3 nights, and would recommend it. It is a very nice hotel, and is perfect for a short city break. It is very close to all forms of transport, and both street and off street parking is available. It is also only a 20 minute walk to the majority of the sites of... More

You were excellent :) Wouldn't say the same about the breakfast lady! Breakfast was awful! No hot food no fresh juice and for vegetarians option... More

The only positive aspect after at this hotel was that the room was clean. Why I won't recommend the hotel: Location. It is at 350m from Omonia square. Though you might find easy to reach from the airport and back the area is not the safest or the nicest, but giving the fact that the airport metro and train has... More

Staying in Omonia

Neighborhood Profile
Omonia
Omonia Square is as plain in appearance as Syntagma is grand. Surrounded largely by functional blocks from the 1950s and 60s and no longer boasting its underground stalls, the square is now mostly frequented by immigrants and bargain shoppers. The most rewarding area to explore is to the south. Set off down Athinas Street, with the Acropolis gradually coming into focus in the distance, and you will get a sense of old commercial Athens, especially at the picturesque meat, fish and vegetable markets some way beyond the City Hall. The blocks to the west of Athinas are home to many Chinese and South Asian traders, adding a multicultural atmosphere to what was until the late 1990s a very homogenous society.
