Quite deceiving from what you see in the pics . Nestled almost in the heart of Athens , surrounded by graffiti covered buildings and dark and dingy streets . Close vicinity to lots of cafes etc which is a bonus . Hotel itself was ok , walls are very thin , decor was ok . Bathroom had no door on... More

Do not stay here!!!..it smelled of smoke and feces coming from toilet invading the room. We checked in and immediately left to eat lunch after a long morning of travel...when we returned less than half an hour later- we decided we just could not stay at this hotel due mainly to smell -and although it looked fairly clean in the... The hotel is located 5 min from subway station. I took the subway at the airport, connected in Syntagma Square to Panepistimio station (line 2) and walked from there to the hotel. The room is nice and quiet. Breakfast fair. Neighborhood is nice, quite different than blocks away towards downtown, full of food options.

I had rather high hopes based on what I had found on booking.com The price, as it is an apartment, was attractive but I found the bathroom to be disappointing: not even a door to keep the water inside the shower and the placement of the toilet bowl (too close to the bathroom door). Plus it is located at an... More

We were given a free upgrade when we arrived, which was a nice surprise. The hotel is a 10 minute walk from Panepistimio Metro station, and around 30 minutes on foot to Monastiraki Square, making it an ideal base to explore Athens. The area that the hotel is in did feel a little dodgy at first, but we encountered absolutely... More

Rooms are small but not old. The noise from the road is loud and it is busy all day and night. Close to metro station and 20 walking to syntagma square but when you come back is somehow an uphill :) The breakfast was very good for a budget hotel. No facilities or lobby just a really small reception. From... More

I had a good four nights stay at this hotel located on the corner of a very busy central street of Athens (Hippocratous). Athens Way is some ten minutes downhill from Panepistimiou Street metro, it is close enough to walk almost anywhere including Sintagma, Plaka, Monastiraki, Omonia, the new Akropolis museum. The rooms are recently renovated, modern style with excellent... More

A few blocks [somewhat of an uphill though] from metro stop "Panepistimio". Very conveniently close to posh Kolonaki, or alternative Exarheia - both neighborhoods good for eating out or drinking late. The double room was modern and comfortable. Everything worked fine. The bathroom is modern and very clean, but part of the shower door was missing, resulting in a wet... More

Staying in Exarchia

Neighborhood Profile
Exarchia
Exarchia is in many ways Athens’ best-kept secret, discovered by relatively few international visitors. Located behind the main University and Polytechnic buildings, it is unsurprisingly home to many students, intellectuals and politicos. This is reflected in the area’s vibrant street art and graffiti, which seems to cover almost every inch of wall space. Some of the best Athenian tavernas are located here, as well as its most alternative bars and underground music venues. You'll find political bookshops and quirky stores here, yet it is also a neighborhood inhabited by families and older folk. On Saturdays, punks and grandmothers alike head for Kallidromiou Street, nestled below Strefi Hill, to pick up fresh produce at the traditional laiki agora (street market).
