We were quite happy with this hotel. I forgot how much we paid but I remember being happy with the price we got. Now on to the review Location: The train stop that we used for this was Panepistimio. From the train stop it was about 6 blocks all uphill. So carrying our bags up was a bit of a... More

We were on a summer study abroad program with our university. We stayed here for the month of June except for weekend excursions to various islands or historic sites. The kids got dorm rooms and the adults got this hotel. This hotel wasn’t lavish by any standards but was OK. The rate was very reasonable. The rooms were modern and... More

We were only here for one night but were really impressed by this budget hotel. It didn't feel budget at all and the rooftop restaurant was lovely! I can really recommend paying the 5euros for the breakfast buffet too, the selection was really great. The only downside to this place was that the aircon in our room was broken at... More

While traveling in Greece, our friend had an injury, which necessitated us to stay close the Central Clinic Of Athens, 2 blocks away. Though it was a very difficult time for my sister and I, the staff of Athens Way made it bearable. Always courteous & helpful, Dini the hotel manager went out of her way to accommodate our needs.... I really enjoyed my three days at Athens Way. It’s in a quiet location away from the manic Plaka and Monastiraki, steps away from the bohemian Exorchia and the beautiful Lykavyttos Hill. A pleasant walk to upscale Kalamaki (about 10-15 mins) and to all the city’s attractions (about 20 min) is absolutely worth it. The hotel has good renovated showers... More

Pros: - room is newly renovated. Clean and comfortable. - balcony offers private space Cons: - LOCATION not good. The website says it's only 5 mins walking but it actually takes 10-15 minutes. Not a pretty neighborhood. Avoid staying solo. - Our room only has a jacuzzi without shower. which made showe very awkward. - NO HOT WATER! when we... More

Athens Way is located on a hilly, quite busy road in a not very welcoming looking building with 6 floors. However, it totally is worth the stay: The people at the reception were very friendly and helpful. Upon arriving you receive a voucher for a welcome drink, the wifi login, breakfast times and all other explanations that you could need.... More

The room was very clean and modern. Staff were friendly. Free wifi but in some areas it would drop out. Within walking distance to hospital and laundromat. Not a high tourist area but good restaurants are within walking distance.

I spent a lovely couple of nights at the Athens Way hotel recently and would happily stay there again. The rooms are large and comfortable, and the staff is very helpful. The location is great as it's within 10 minutes from the metro and you can walk to many tourist attractions relatively easy. The only down side is that the... More

Staying in Exarchia

Neighborhood Profile
Exarchia
Exarchia is in many ways Athens’ best-kept secret, discovered by relatively few international visitors. Located behind the main University and Polytechnic buildings, it is unsurprisingly home to many students, intellectuals and politicos. This is reflected in the area’s vibrant street art and graffiti, which seems to cover almost every inch of wall space. Some of the best Athenian tavernas are located here, as well as its most alternative bars and underground music venues. You'll find political bookshops and quirky stores here, yet it is also a neighborhood inhabited by families and older folk. On Saturdays, punks and grandmothers alike head for Kallidromiou Street, nestled below Strefi Hill, to pick up fresh produce at the traditional laiki agora (street market).
