My husband and I spent 1 night here before heading home. The TEC center is conveniently about 45 minutes from the airport. Having read previous reviews, we knew to arrive before 5pm. Construction and traffic delays had us arrive at 5:20, and lucky for us we found someone and were able to check in. We had reserved a pond house... More

The TEC is a great option for those looking to stay outside the city, closer to nature on a budget. All facilities were clean, comfortable, and well taken care of (I slept in both the cabanas and dorms). I stayed at the TEC for 1.5 weeks, and every meal was delicious and filling. If you are looking to learn a... More

Once we arrived a mile in a half from the zoo where we first went on arrival, the gal pointed to an open area and said there you go.... Not much direction, or communication, no others camping either. We let her know we still wanted dinner as booked and she said ok. Dinner came as we were setting up and... More

Located very close to the Belize zoo and we chose to stay here on our first night in Belize. It is nicer, cheaper and safer than in Belize city's hotels. You are situated in the middle of the jangle and the savannah with wildlife around you. Our Casita was beautiful. Though there is no A/C, it is comfortable, CLEAN, well-designed.... More

We stayed at the jungle lodge for 3 nights and it was hardly long enough. The small huts are great for a couple - you could say it's like upmarket camping. We loved it! Breakfast and dinner was included in the price and these were hot and fresh with a different dish (no choice) each night. We went spotlighting at... More

I stayed at the Belize Zoo/Tropical Education Center this past summer for the second time and they definitely did NOT disappoint! The jungle lodges are set in an amazing setting - next to a pond inhabited by crocodiles, turtles, fish, and a wide variety of bird life. In the morning you are awoken by the calls of a wide variety... More

The cabana's we stayed in were not my favorite part of the trip. They were clean, but not what I was expecting...at all. You are out in the jungle, so bug spray is a must. Be prepared for a warm night, even in March, and no A/C, just a fan.

Very good price for an excellent location, clean comfortable and spacious. Birds galore in the AM, stars galore at night. Night Tour of the zoo is a must. We have been to the zoo 5-6 times before but agreed that this night tour was exceptional. Food was fine and the dining room was quite lovely and adjacent raised platform to... More

Nice setting in nature with well marked short trails to walk on. The cabins are well cared for. Great breakfast and dinner. Very quiet setting- makes you slow down and look at the little things. Walking trail to the zoo. Helpful with driving you and your luggage to and from the bus stop or zoo.

We stayed at the Pond House 2 for 3 nights. My mom, wife, and 8 year old. The place was clean and spacious, had a fridge and hot plate, and great views of the pond and turtles and crocodiles. Awesome screened in porch. The meals that came with the price of the cottage (served in the cafeteria) were always good... More
